POPSSC GOP reps to discuss impeaching philandering governor He needs to be impeached since he has refused to resign. It's sad that his fellow Party members have to do this. Now if only those in Washington would impeach those of more serious *crimes* such as fraud, tax evasion, conspiring with our enemies, unlawful use of taxpayers money, etc....

POPSSanford's use of state plane questioned Personal use of public property is called theft, right? This is also an ethics issue. Wasn't Sarah Palin busted and supposedly forced to pay back the cost of her misuse of government property? Government watchdogs said federal officials have to repay the cost of flying government planes for personal or campaign events and said they didn't know of a state that permitted planes to be used for such trips. State law requires the Aeronautics Division to collect and keep sworn statements from aircraft users certifying flights were for official business within 48 hours of flights. But the AP review raises questions about how South Carolina polices the use of its aircraft and reveals a system rife with shoddy record keeping and violations of laws that require the public be able to see documents. Oh, I see, this makes it easier to get away with it. Once again, if they are not watched closely, they will steal you blind.

POPSGod is not your Knave or bitch
a river of cosmic energy to be supped from like liquid light, while you still take complete responsibility for your own life and choices. Nor is God simply the idea of universal love and compassion, coursing through all things at all times everywhere. How silly to think. No, God is, apparently, actually far more like some sort of heavyset, hectoring grandmother who reads your email and pokes through your underwear drawer and hates your girlfriend and is, for the most part, very, very disappointed in you. Great! Really, it almost does not matter in which God you believe, what sect or major denomination. Nearly all are of the same idea, offer up the same unquestionable truth: Of course God cares what you do, who you screw, upon which sliver of dust-choked holy land you live, how high you raise your flag and which statue you kneel before. This is the greatest wonder of all: In the impossible vastness of time and space, God cares most desperately, most fanatically about this particul

POPSCheating SC gov says God will make him better So weak he needs a spiritual world character make him right. He can't do it for himself. Or is he suggesting that America is capable of thinking him good because he can communicate with a spiritual being.

POPS*Mark Sanford's Soul Mate *R-Rated But he continued moving towards her, his sleekly massive member flexing and coiling like the snake that ate Jon Voight in Anaconda. Slowly, he began to move his mouth, yet no words were made, nor were they necessary. She was hotter and wetter than an illegal crossing the Rio Grande. Full article at link

POPSShooting Them In The Foot "Conservatives touted abstinence-only education, which was a flop, when real sex education was needed, most desperately in red states. According to 2006 data from the Guttmacher Institute, those red states accounted for eight of the 10 states with the highest teenage birthrates. And, a study titled “Red Light States: Who Buys Online Adult Entertainment?” that was conducted by Benjamin Edelman, an assistant professor of business at Harvard Business School and published earlier this year in the Journal of Economic Perspectives found that subscriptions to online pornography sites were “more prevalent in states where surveys indicate conservative positions on religion, gender roles, and sexuality” and in states where “more people agree that ‘I have old-fashioned values about family and marriage.’ ” They could avoid this hypocrisy by focusing more on what happens in their own bedrooms and avoiding the trap of judging what goes on in everyone else’s."

POPSNot Appalachian Trail, but Buenos Aires, says Sanford Wow - SC Governor's staff tells the world he's in one place (apparently lying, and no one really knows where he is), then he shows up with the news that he's been in Argentina. I suspect this fellow's career options are slimming down.

POPSWhose Running Things? The Executives or the Judges? Apparently the judges are at least in South Carolina. The Governor of the State was fighting stimulus money from Washington because of all the strings that were attached to the money which would effect the state adversely in later years. However his authority was overturned by court order of the State Supremes. Take a lessons folks. If you don't like your boss take him to court and gain control of his company then you can run it yourself. Do not like the way the Governor of your state operates then sue him and take over control of the states affairs. Do not like your life well then SUE GOD! Good luck with that one.

POPSWhite House: States Can't Use Stimulus to Pay Off Debt "Congress has not authorized the executive branch to waive any of the above statutory requirements governing the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund," Orszag wrote. "Accordingly, states' spending... must satisfy the statutory requirements." It looks like states who want to fill their budget holes with federal taxpayer dollars will have to push for separate legislation. Somehow, I don't see Sanford begging for a taxpayer-funded bail-out for S. Carolina -- it'd look bad when he runs for president in '12.

POPSDestroying Political Careers & Restaurants This is almost certainly bad news for Gov. Sanford if he has any higher ambitions, as the politicians I find interesting and compelling tend to be the ones who have no chance of winning on a national level. --- My wife and I are the death of restaurants. If we like one it is sure to fail.

POPSGov Mark Sanford Rejecting Stimulus, Compares Obama To Mugabe More mumblings from the Gov of S.C. who obviously could care less about the folks that voted him into office. On the other hand, he can't run another term anyway, so my guess is this is political posturing in hopes of being a Repub runner in some Presidential race in his mind.

POPSGov Sanford's Rejection Of Stimulus Funds Could Cost 7,500 Teachers Their Jobs FTA: Ironically, Sanford cited his “duty” to “future generations of South Carolinians” in explaining his slashing of funding for the state’s school system, in a letter to the legislature. And in a press conference yesterday, he insisted he was acting with young people’s best interests at heart: Of course we’d like to spend unlimited amounts of money on education or for that matter healthcare or law enforcement. but you have to do it within the confines of that which is sustainable. So the idea of digging a $1.2 billion hole whose costs ultimately will be born by school-aged kids to me is not in their best interest

POPSWhy Would a State Reject the Federal Stimulus? I would guess it is the strings attached. Even here in MO. our Democratic governor has hinted that he may not take all the Federal Stimulus we're supposed to receive. And how about the banks that want to return the money, now that the regulations have come out (strings) - once the Feds come up with a plan for how to return it.

POPSSC Gov. Sanford to Reject Stimulus Money Good advice, Mark. You ought to take it. Your hole's as big as it needs to be right now. The article tells us: is announcement came the same week that South Carolina's unemployment rate shot to 10.4 percent, the second highest in the nation. With those dire figures as a backdrop, national Democrats -- keenly aware of Sanford's rising national stature -- piled on. When your unemployment's the second worst in the nation, you don't turn down funds to expand unemployment benefits. That's what most experts refer to as "stupid as all hell." Of course, Sanford's already running for president in 2012 and is burnishing his flat-Earth economic bona fides. Too bad he feels the need to do make that run the backs of his citizens.

POPSCPAC Straw Poll Vindicates Ron Paul, Huckabee Distanced
Ron Paul in virtual tie for 2nd, with Palin, well above Huckabee. Conservatives, unlike the republican establishment, like Ron Paul's principles on economics, preserving Constitutional law and liberty, and apparently even foreign policy (surprise, surprise) over others . This shows that conservatives then are divided, and not ready to throw all their weight behind one lead candidate (i.e. Romney, a CFR member and RINO who has no real conservative or Constitutional record). It must be acknowledged that Ron Paul's principles are vindicated as attractive among conservatives, and been missing from the Republican party. While Romney won the poll this still means Republicans are out of touch with conservatives listening now to Paul outside the heat of political campaigns. The fact that he fairs so much better here than during the primaries (although he trampled Giuliani then) says that conservatives are awakening and listening to his message, finally.

POPSRepublican Gov. Calls GOP Leadership 'Inconsequential' Kind of a follow-up to my last post . How's that strategy of constant obstructionism working for you, guys? " has also sparked a civil war within the party between practical, give-me-the-money governors (such as Charlie Crist and Arnold Schwarzenegger) and ideological conservatives who are talking about eschewing some of the stimulus funds (notably, Bobby Jindal, Mark Sanford and Haley Barbour) and a clash between those pragmatic governors and the GOP's leaders on Capitol Hill," writes David Corn. "Good work, everyone. Obama's stimulus has become a wedge issue within the Republican Party."

POPSBarack Obama's Savior-Based Economy GOP Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina said, "We're moving precipitously close to what I would call a savior-based economy." Tellingly, Obama chose Ft. Myers to drum up support for his wealth redistributionism. The area has been one of the hardest hit by foreclosures, as the president was quick to point out. But many of those homes are second or third homes and investment properties. And low housing prices are not a catastrophe for everyone. They've created opportunities for Americans who haven't been able to buy in an artificially inflated market. The median sales price of a home in the Ft. Myers area fell 50 percent to $106,900, from $215,200 in December 2007. Bargain-priced home sales are up 146 percent from a year ago. It's sacrilegious to say it in the Age of Obama, but it needs to be said: Home ownership is not an entitlement. Credit is not a civil right. Your property-value preservation is not my problem. Can I get an "Amen!"? michelle malkin
