POPSThe terrorists at Club Gitmo don't want to leave Obvious. What else more could they want? They have personal chefs, TVs, remote controls, beach volleyball, a library overlooking the ocean, scenic views, free laundry service, new prayer rugs to pray to Allah.....and they're getting the H1N1 vaccine before you. The libs want them out of Cuban Clown College as long as they're nowhere near their Manhattan penthouses or vacation spots in the Vineyard. As if splashing water on their damn faces is going to scare them off.....PUH-LEASE. Gitmo should be rebranded so that liberals wouldn’t reflexively scream “TORTURE!” every time they heard it’s name. How about "Misfired Martyrs Motel" or "Viva la Incarceracion!"?

POPSDetainees at Club Gitmo Getting H1N1 Vaccine Before You Well, why the hell not.....they already have personal chefs, cable TV and free movies. I'm sure that between prayer time on their new prayer rugs and beach volleyball tournaments they can manage to fit the vaccinations into their grueling schedules. How about we send the liberals down there to administer the H1N1 personally since they already have such high regard for those murdering terrorists.....

POPSFormer Gitmo Detainee Killed by Saudi Forces Although declared innocent by liberals in America this one time terrorist was wrongly killed in the line of duty while attempting to blow himself up. Hmm seems to me he was determined to die one way or another. Instead of releasing these terrorists why not just let them bow themselves up?

POPSDem Potpourri: Obamacare, Kennedy and Bush-Era Torture
August 25, 2009 Shifting The Conversation To Thicker Ice Obama rallies his base by trying to shift the national conversation to Bush-era torture. Glenn Greenwald, a sometime consultant to the ACLU, reminds us of the depth of his commitment to civil liberties as he discusses the newly-released CIA Inspector General report on enhanced interrogation: What every American should be made to learn about the IG Torture Report ...Before saying anything about the implications of this Report, I want to post some excerpts of what CIA interrogators did. Every American should be forced to read and learn this in order to know what was done in their names . . . "Forced" to learn this stuff? I will defend to the death the right of every American to grill hotdogs and watch a ball game while tuning this news out. In another incident a guard racked a handgun and spun up a power drill near a hooded detainee. Geez, are we holding hardened terrorists or . .

POPSDetainees Shown CIA Officers' Photos
The photos were taken by researchers hired by the John Adams Project, a joint effort of the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, to support military counsel at Guantanamo Bay, according to the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the inquiry. It was unclear whether the Justice Department is also examining those organizations. Both groups have long said that they will zealously investigate the CIA's interrogation program at "black sites" worldwide as part of the defense of their clients. But government investigators are now looking into whether the defense team went too far by allegedly showing the detainees the photos of CIA officers, in some cases surreptitiously taken outside their homes. If proved, the allegations would highlight how aggressively both military lawyers and their allies in the human rights community are moving to shed light on the CIA's interrogation . .

POPSTerrorists Get Appeals, Obamacare Patients Don’t ~ Part 2 to cite just a few highlights " a Justice Department that won’t prosecute nightstick-wielding Black Panthers caught on videotape intimidating voters (did I mention that one was an official Democratic poll-watcher?) ; a Homeland Security Department that calls terrorism “man-caused disasters” even as it considers investigating conservatives based on “intelligence” gleaned from crackpot web sites; and a White House staff that thought it would be a good idea to fly Air Force One just a few hundred feet over Ground Zero " sending lower Manhattan into a man-caused frenzy " since it seemed like such a pretty day for a photo op. The Obama administration has us on a trajectory toward $10 trillion in new debt; that “under 8 percent” unemployment they promised if they got their stimulus passed is about to burst through the 10 percent mark; and the four months’ worth of cash they budgeted for clunkers evaporated in a couple of days.

POPSTerrorists Get Appeals, Obamacare Patients Don’t ~ by Andrew McCarthy To deprive these litigants of basic legal rights, we were told, was to run roughshod over constitutional checks and balances. Without federal district judges overseeing the commander-in-chief’s conduct of war, George W. Bush would have an intolerable “blank check.” The people trying to kill us would be lost in a “legal black hole,” an unconscionable violation of the rule of law. Perusing the Democrats’ proposal to usurp the health-care industry, one-sixth of what used to be known as the private sector, that history rushes back to mind. Pardon me if I can’t help thinking: This sure looks an awful lot like a legal black hole. #adOne might have thought we’d run out of blank checks for Barack Obama by now. But if “our values” really include judicial oversight, then Obamacare doesn’t have much to do with our values. And this time, the people being stripped of their basic legal rights are not America-hating terrorists.

POPSWho the Dems think are the real terrorists Yes folks the world is turned upside down. Right is wrong and wrong is right. 20 How horrible it will be for those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn what is bitter into something sweet and what is sweet into something bitter. 21 How horrible it will be for those who think they are wise and consider themselves to be clever. 22 How horrible it will be for those who are heroes at drinking wine, who are champions at mixing drinks, 23 who declare the guilty innocent for a bribe, who take away the rights of righteous people. POPSTaliban Now Winning There is a segment of the left that is fundamentally mired in the quagmire that is their thinking on any war. They seem to believe that absent a direct threat to the sovereignty and safety of the United States, there is no justification for fighting. I'm not about to begin to explain that because I could care less what the leftards think. They can learn to march backwards on their own damn time. So brace for another information war during the 2010 election cycle as the trumpeters of quagmire sound forth. President Obama may have campaigned with some lively rhetoric about Afghanistan and Pakistan, but there will be considerable opposition from his own party and we will have to see if he will stay the course or cut and run. If the left had their way, they'd make "cut-and-running" an Olympic demonstration sport.

POPSRepublican Cowards
How are the men at Guantanimo — many of whom have actually been found innocent — any more dangerous than American-born Serial Killers and Terrorists? What magical powers to the hostages in Gitmo have that will make them better at escaping from American prisons? What are they (and the Democratic governors, for that matter) afraid of? Nothing. Wisps and shadows. Smoke and mirrors. America has nothing to fear by putting them in American jails, other than <gasp!> giving them fair trials and letting justice be done. If Americans want to be treated with fairness and justice in other countries, then it behoves them to give foreigners the same courtesy. Then there's the fact that these men (and boys!) did not come to America by their own free will. They were kidnapped from the Middle East, and put under American supervision against their will. As for "terrorists released on American Soil", the US law already deals with that. Foreign prisoners are deported to their own countries afterw

POPSGitmo Detainees to Work as Wal-Mart Greeters The "Gitmo to Greet Mo'" program bypasses maximum-security federal penitentiaries located all over the United States and instead pays for jihadists' food and housing and provides them work. The thinking is that terrorists will not want to blow up America if they get to experience first-hand how nice and welcoming Americans are. However, this scenario will create a whole new set of terrorists: old ladies who lost their jobs to terrorists.

POPSFirst Gitmo Detainee Slipped into U.S. for Trial Ghailani, a Tanzanian, was in his twenties when prosecutors say he helped terrorists build one of the bombs that destroyed U.S. embassies in East Africa in 1998. He left Africa just before the bombings, according to investigators. After the Aug. 7, 1998, bombings at U.S. embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Ghailani worked for Al Qaeda as a document forger, trainer at a terror camp and bodyguard to bin Laden, according to military prosecutors. The decision to try Ghailani in New York also revives a long-dormant case charging bin Laden and top Al Qaeda leadership with plotting the embassy attacks that killed more than 200 people and injured thousands, including many who were blinded by shards of flying glass. The attacks prompted then-President Bill Clinton to launch cruise missile attacks two weeks later on bin Laden's Afghan camps.

POPSWhy not Keep Gitmo Open as a Prison? President Obama seems determined to move the DETAINEES at GITMO from GITMO to be a PRISONER at some US Facility. Well let me see if I understand this correctly. Prisoners should be held in a prison. Is Gitmo a PRISON? Yep Okay check. Detainees at GITMO should be moved to a US PRISON FACILITY. IS GITMO a US PRISON facility? YUP again so CHECK 2 Gitmo detainees should be given trials. CAN GITMO DETAINEES BE tried at GITMO? YUP so once again CHECK. Why then should they be moved? Could it be simply a POLITICAL maneuver Mr President? Check check and triple check. While we are fighting TERRORISM on FOREIGN soil why in God's name (or allah for OBAMA) would we bring the terrorists HOME WITH US to AMERICAN SOIL? Are you insane? Yep another check. So then the only reason why the detainees at GITMO would need to be moved is strictly political and not seated in thoughtful reason. POPSNEVER AGAIN ~ Keep Terrorists Out Of America Act
WASHINGTON -- Bowing to political pressure, Senate Democrats said Tuesday that they planned to withhold funding to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, until President Barack Obama presents a plan for handling its 241 detainees. Democrats also plan to prevent the administration from spending any money to transfer Guantanamo detainees to the U.S. during the current fiscal year. Both restrictions are contained in an amendment to a $91.3 billion measure funding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; the amendment is expected to be approved in the Senate as early as Wednesday. The issue of Guantanamo's closure has been a distraction for the Democrats since Mr. Obama several weeks ago requested $80 million to wind down operations at the prison for terrorism suspects by next January. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that he agrees Congress should receive a more detailed plan and that the president will provide more specifics in a speech Thursday.

POPS Senator Reid's Gitmo Truth Now remember the 17 Uighurs at Gitmo. They have admitted to being trained and committed terrorists. Incredibly, a military review board said they are no threat to America when they are all associates of the East Turkistan Islamic Movement. The ETIM has a long relationship with al Qaeda and its founder swore allegiance to Osama bin Laden. On April 9, 2009, the Obama administration added the ETIM’s current leader, Abdul Haq, to the Treasury Department’s terrorist list. As they pose a direct threat to Chinese businessmen and diplomats here, who wants to risk becoming collateral damage?

POPS Obama Weighs Indefinite Detention of Gitmo Prisoners Cato scholar David H. Rittgers approves, commenting: "Terrorism and insurgency constitute violence with a message. To effectively counter terrorists, we must provide a message of our own that denies a propaganda victory to their cause. Meting sound and irreproachable justice is an important way to do that."

POPSObama's Promise And The 9/11 Families On Feb. 6, the president arrived in the Roosevelt Room to a standing though subdued ovation from some 40 family members. With a White House photographer in his wake, Mr. Obama greeted family members one at a time and offered brief remarks that were full of platitudes ("you are the conscience of the country," "my highest duty as president is to protect the American people," "we will seek swift and certain justice"). Glossing over the legal complexities, he gave a vague summary of the detainee cases and why he chose to suspend them, focusing mostly on the need for speed and finality. Many family members pressed for Guantanamo to remain open and for the military commissions to go forward. Mr. Obama allowed that the detention center had been unfairly confused with Abu Ghraib, but when asked why he wouldn't rehabilitate its image rather than shut it down, he silently shrugged. Next question.

POPSHolder Says Terrorists Won't Be Set Free in US I will bet you that Gitmo will not be closed. Now that Obama is in office, he realizes the seriousness of such a decision. Concerning Holder's comments..exactly what is the definition of "terrorist"? Like what is the meaning of 'is'? And wasn't it a term no longer to be used? Of course Holder couldn't directly answer Shelby because they don't have a clue!!

POPSObama to Release Uighur Gitmo Terrorists In Washington DC Their release is seen as a crucial step to plans, announced by President Obama during his first week in office, to close the prison and relocate the detainees. Administration officials also believe that settling some of them in American communities will set an example, helping to persuade other nations to accept Guantanamo detainees too... Officials have not said where in the United States they might live. But many Uighur immigrants from China live in Washington's Virginia suburbs, and advocates have urged that the detainees be resettled near people who speak their language and are familiar with their customs.

POPSSigners: Cheney, Rice (not Rumsfeld) Approved Torture This is why Cheney went public while Bush remains a recluse--i.e. Cheney has to protect his anti-constitutional ass from prosecution! Note that Powell was left out of the loop, and surprisingly, even Rumsfeld (at least in documentation). This was a Cheney-Neocon operation as much as the rogue Office of Special Plans was! He may have even covered for Bush in doing this. The rest of the CIA was "just following orders". Some people are saying "well, it did not kill them". But it did produce false confessions (just to avoid pain) as usual, and massive psychological damage. If you lose your sanity it mentally kills you. Remember too, that Powell's Chief of Staff, Wilkerson, said hardly anyone at Gitmo (very small percentage) could be called combatants or terrorists from the massive dragnet the paid bounties to Afghans for fingering people (for whatever motives, largely money).

POPS KEEP GITMO OPEN The left-wing culture that wants to blame America for everything wrong in the world is in power today in Washington D.C. and we must be active in opposing their most dangerous ideas. They honestly believe that America has done something to bring on this hatred from terrorists who want to wipe us off the map and end freedom in the world, and they won't stand up to them unless we put on the pressure. Now President Obama has ordered the closing of the Detention Facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and the Administration is trying to figure out what to do next. They ended the military trials that would have convicted and executed some of these ruthless murderers. They still don't understand that this is a war against terrorism.
