More: English teacher Jessica Price, who knows the victim and most of the arrested suspects, said the girl has helped in conflict-mediation groups wanted to join the Police Explorers, a Boy Scouts group that lets boys and girls learn law enforcement with local police… That such a girl could be so brutalized speaks more to a pack mentality, stoked by booze and street machismo, than it does to the general character of Richmond High's youths, Price said. "Those boys who did what they did weren't picturing that girl as a human," she said. "I think you see these kinds of boys at a lot of high schools - so desensitized it was like they saw her as a toy. Boys like that - there aren't many like them, but they can be so hard. All they needed was something to set them off." She told a school district safety panel last week that some girls trying to find out who had watched the rape were being threatened in the hallways - and that, too, she blames on a desensitized mentality.

She quickly started breathing on her own and was eventually transported to Primary Children's Medical Center. Kano says hearing her breathe was one of the best sounds he's ever heard. He says he's no hero and feels blessed to have been in the right place at the right time to help. Kano credits basic life saving skills he learned in Boy Scouts and in a more advanced class he took in high school. FOX 13's Scott McKane has more about the incident.

POPSScouts Train to Fight Terrorists, and More
“This is about being a true-blooded American guy and girl.” This statement is reminiscent of how the Hitler Youth was bolstered into being “true-blooded Germans”. The inference is that if you are not a part of this “elite” group and are not concerned with killing what the police label as ‘terrorists’ or ‘illegal immigrants’ then you are NOT a ‘true-blooded American’. In light of the fact that DHS recently released two letters designed to put the law enforcement community on alert to 1) returning military vets as potential threats and 2) profiling millions of Americans who oppose abortion, illegal immigration, gun control, homosexuality, and expanded govt powers, as associated with neo-Nazis, skinheads and other violent and racist ‘hate groups’, this is scary stuff people. It appears DHS has an agenda to define ‘true-blooded Americans’ as anyone who is in complete lock-step with their policies. Using Explorer Scouts as a recruitment source is a heinous and despicable act.

POPSObama's "Mandatory Service" Youth Legislation Passes Senate Part of the "civilian national security force" agenda passed the Senate and additional legislation is on the way. This was attempted earlier in history through the Boy and Girl Scouts, but not through the government directly, to indoctrinate and teach absolute loyalty to the State, nationalism. The one from Obama would be more loyal to a particular agenda, a socialist agenda. This is government manipulation of youth under color of "patriotism".

POPSControversy Over Selling Girl Scout Cookies I love Girl Scout cookies. But isn’t the idea behind selling these tasty little treats to raise money for the Girl Scout of America while at the same time teaching the girls how to get involved in the business of raising money? Everyone can agree that selling door to door can be a risky proposition for safety reasons. But should parents be selling for them? I’m torn on this issue. On the one hand the girls are learning responsibility. On the other hand they are being taught how to scam others into doing their work for them. After all, the Girl Scouts of America has gotten these girls to do the selling for them for years. Are we doing these girls a disservice by selling the cookies for them? And, should an employee of one company be allowed to sell another companies products on their time? What’s your opinion?

POPSDuct Tape Bag-Nifty I know this isn't an eco-friendly craft, but it is fun. My daughter came home from Girl Scouts the other day with one of these. Instead of a book, they used a gallon-sized zipper-type storage bag and put the tape on it. My son has the wallet from Boy Scouts.
