Common-Sense Health Care Reform Our Nation Can Afford
n2sooners
by n2sooners  9-10-2009
Yet the president keeps spreading the lie that the republicans have no plans and want no reform at all. Some of the radical ideas republicans have proposed: "We do need medical liability reform, and it needs to be real reform. We need to establish tough liability reform standards, encourage speedy resolution of claims, and deter junk lawsuits that drive up the cost of care." "Let's also talk about letting families and businesses buy insurance across state lines." "All individuals should have access to coverage, regardless of preexisting conditions." "Individuals, small businesses and other groups should be able to join together to get health insurance at lower prices, the same way large businesses and labor unions do."

Pro-& Anti-Obamacare Protesters Openly Carrying Weapons LEGALLY
merrie
by merrie  8-19-2009    1
Other people have been visibly carrying firearms near Obama's events recently. During a health care town hall in Portsmouth, N.H., last week, a man stood outside with a pistol strapped to his leg. Phoenix police say the people with guns, including the man with the rifle, don't need permits. No crimes were committed, and no one was arrested. The man with the rifle told The Arizona Republic he was carrying the weapon because he could, adding that he still has some freedoms in Arizona.

Tea Party Activist Uses Racist Picture of Obama
DanaGarrett
by DanaGarrett  7-23-2009
Experience some of the tea party activists up close and personal as I have done and you won't be the least bit surprised that one prominent member of their "movement" fowarded this racist picture of President Obama. It was supposed to be "funny stuff." But pressed on what was funny about an image that plays on racist stereotypes about Africans, McKalip declined to say, instead offering to talk about why he opposes Obama's health-care proposals. "I have a busy day," he said eventually, before ending the call.

Georgia Republican Congressman Phil Gingrey will make money if the aircraft the Pentagon doesn't want is built. He's stuck it back in the bill from which it had been removed. Smaller government, Rep Gingrey?

Emanuel: Limbaugh Is The Voice Of The GOP
Anomaly100
by Anomaly100  3-2-2009
FTA: Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.) apologized Wednesday to “my fellow conservatives” for comments critical of talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh – saying he sees “eye-to-eye” with Limbaugh and that his remarks defending House Republican leadership came across more harshly than intended. --- “I regret and apologize for the fact that my comments have offended and upset my fellow conservatives—that was not my intent,” Gingrey said in a statement. “I am also sorry to see that my comments in defense of our Republican Leadership read much harsher than they actually were intended, but I recognize it is my responsibility to clarify my own comments.” I think the Republican members of Congress got the message loud and clear. Steele and Kyl and Cornyn and McConnell and Boehner will take Limbaugh's orders dutifully, even if they try to distance themselves away from them publicly. For the most part they just recite his talking points anyway.

More Republican Incompetence
cbarr
by cbarr  11-28-2006
More of the same-- Republican incompetence at its best. After lengthy discussion on this site by some who support Republican incompetence, and of which they never came back to answer questions posted by me, shouldn't we dock their pay for not showing up for work?
