POPSGoogle released new version of Picasa with Web album and geotagging Google released new version (Beta) of Picasa to manage desktop pics, and features like upload to web album, share and geotag on Google Earth. Honestly,I start feeling uncomfortable with Google pushing so many new services, not compatible with what we already have and use. Flickr is very popular, so many pictures are geotagged there, why would I drop it and start uploading to Google? Would it not be great if the two services are integrated, but of course they compete (Goolge & Yahoo), so do we as users gain or lose? I used 30box as calendar, I enjoyed it, Google published their calendar, it looked promising, so I moved, and it seems they published the service just to stop all competitors. Starting to sounds like our good friend Microsoft

POPSGreat way to view geotagged pictures Great way to view geotagged pictures stored on Flickr. on Google map. Make sure you add the required tags toany picture (which is good habit any how) For example geo:lat=2226735 geo:lan=2226735 Geotagged Then you need to use Firefox (which is also good habit), and install greasemonkey (same recommendation) And now go to the site and install the script http://webdev.yuan.cc/gmif/flickr.gmap.user.js (I think there is standalone version, did not try). That is all, from now on, when you are in Flickr and viewing a geotagged picture (the above tags), you have one more button on top of the picture, near the delete, and it open Google map in the correct location. Neat.
