POPSWhite Watch We know that blacks and Muslims are evil because TV and other news media are always good enough to tell us, when a crime has been committed by a black or a Muslim, that it was committed by a black or a Muslim. Strangely, they often neglect to tell us that a crime committed by a white person was committed by, specifically, a white person. This blog provides a useful corrective, letting us keep track of at least a tiny proportion of the crimes committed by whites. It can only make us wonder what is wrong with white people. The blog’s author puts forward a theory in his “About” section that it’s their culture that turns them into bad’uns but I am unconvinced.

POPS"Free speech is a hideous concept" Really? Free speech is free speech. It is not qualified as corporate, individual, racial group, economic group, gender group, sexual orientation group. Free speech simply is.....free...speech. The clipped quote expresses better than anyone ever could the intolerance of the Left. They don't trust people to hear things they don't want them to hear. Tell me they aren't fascist.

POPSA Question of Credibility....or TRUST! "Furthermore, I am a prisoner of my own biography: I can't help but view the American experience through the lens of a black man of mixed heritage, forever mindful of how generations of people who looked like me were subjugated and stigmatized, and the subtle and not so subtle ways that race and class continue to shape our lives. "But that is not all that I am. ... I believe in the free market, competition, and entrepreneurship. ... I reject a politics that is based solely on racial identity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or victimhood generally. ...

POPSThe Geezers’ Crusade Revolution by Grey Panthers is advocated in The New York Times. Historically, revolutions have been the business of tiny minorities with clear and powerful aims. Surely, "generativity" -- making sure the is a world for their grandchildren -- is a clear and powerful enough aim.

POPSHow objectification silences women - the male glance as a psychological muzzle More: Obviously, this experiment used a fairly artificial scenario. In the real world, social interactions are more complicated and objectification can take place more subtly, with a quick glance rather than a blatantly angled camera. Even so, these behaviours don't go unnoticed. They could be major problems if the same detrimental silencing effect in Saguy's study applies in real-world situations where being vocal is important for success - job interviews, work meetings, networking sessions, classrooms and more. There will always be hardened lechers among us but often, objectification happens without us thinking about it or becoming aware of it. It's time, perhaps, that more of us did. POPSChicago Paper Runs Racist-Sexist Headline In Election Coverage In order to make MLK’s quote match the spirit of the article title above, it would need to read something like this: I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will be judged by the color of their skin, sexual orientation, and then by the content of their gender. POPSCoexist? * C wants to kill E, X, T, and (by implication) O. If they achieved the world they wanted, I and S would also no longer exist. * O doesn’t allow for effective resistance or defeat of C. * E stands in direct opposition to C, X, and T, and accuses those who speak against them of hate speech. Also, they’re trying to edge X and T out of public schools in favor of their own agenda. (They’re afraid C will be offended, so they get less trouble.) E is actually very, very intolerant. * X’s existence is threatened not only by C but also by O, who invariably supports C over X. * I and S are statistically insignificant and are mainly on there to complete the bumper sticker. * T is who the bumper sticker is really arguing against, but poses no physical threat to any of the others. Historically, T has brought about more tolerance– “coexistence” if you will– than any other movement. But the kind of “coexistence” the people who make this sticker envision is one where at

POPSHetrosexuals suffer loss of identity with gay-marriage This author has hit on something. A person's identity is important and if/as the meaning of marriage changes, it is less clear what you mean when you say you are married. I can understand this loss. I have long argued that if it is the word marriage that we are fighting over then we should use a different legal term and take the victory and move on. But as words do have meaning the more I am confronted with the opposition to gay people marring the more I believe that it is vitally important that they do gain the right to use that term in a legal sense.

POPSStudy: Men Evolving Faster than Women (well, that is if Men equals the Y chromosome...) There are a couple of reasons Page and Hughes cite for Y being such an evolutionary powerhouse. One is that it stands alone and isn't part of a pair like 44 other chromosomes. So when there are mutations there's no matching chromosome to recombine and essentially cover up the change, Hughes said. Because women have two X chromosomes, the X chromosome doesn't have this situation.

POPSThe Day My God Died I am not actually sure I could sit through and watch this 54 minute documentary, mostly because emotionally I don't know that I have what it takes. There is some hope in the form of "raiding parties" that rescue girls from the brothels. It is time the world made some genuine changes in attitudes towards the female gender (generally speaking).

POPSAmericans Back Profiling Air Travelers to Combat Terrorism If I were a fairly young Middle-easterner, with an Islamic name, wearing a burka, or acting weird, I'd expect to receive greater scrutiny than a white-haired Granny.
