POPSTelecom & IT Gen M, as the name suggests, is for the young and the hip. Gen M follows the core idea of ‘Celebrating the Individual’ by offering a whole array of the latest and the best in gadgets and gizmos to tech junkies. Trendiest mobile phones, accessories, download kiosks, airtime recharges etc; are some of the offerings Gen M has, but the most striking feature is the vibrant and young ambience of these outlets that reflects in the design and the products, that focus on gaming, chat, music, video etc.

POPS Apple Edges Out Google Google's shares, which topped $700 late last year, have settled back to just over $500 - but the company's founders, Sergey Brin, 34, and Larry Page, 35, remain billionaires who travel the world on a customised Boeing 767. The pair see conquering space as their next challenge and have put up a $20m prize to anyone who produces a privately financed spacecraft able to land on the moon.

POPSGoogle's Olympic Extravaganza Google’s main Olympics page has different designs depending on the country. The China homepage is more colorful than the US homepage. In the US, you can launch videos, gadgets, and see the current medals won overlaid on a Google Map (the latter is also featured on a standalone page). There are stories collected via Google News as well. The YouTube Olympics channel is only available in some countries, being geo-IP-banned elsewhere. “The IOC’s Channel will be accessible in territories where digital VOD rights have not been sold or have been acquired on a non-exclusive basis,” the press release explains. As previously mentioned, another onebox in results pop up when entering queries like taekwondo olympics, though it doesn’t work in every country (I added the “gl=us” parameter to the search URL here so you can see it). http://www.youtube.com/ytsummergames http://www.google.com/landing/summergames2008/index.html

POPSI Can't Believe I Agree with "Big Business" So I have to say, I agree with Sprint on this one - not the consumers. While those 2-year service agreements annoy me too, they do allow me to buy cheap phones and always have the latest gadgets, which I love. If they aren't allowed to lock us into 2-year contracts, they're going to stop subsidizing phones and will raise the prices on their services, which I don't think any of us wants either. As a compromise, why not require them to offer options. If you sign a 2-year contract, they'll offer you subsidized phone and service pricing. If you don't want to be locked into a contract, you can do that, but you'll pay more for your phones and service. That way, those of us who are ok with dealing with 2 year contracts to keep our prices low can do so, while those of us that don't mind paying more to keep their options open can do so as well. To me it's a win-win.

POPSThe SECRET Warehouse from Indiana Jones with contents I use a similar concept in a role playing game. This was a HUGE list and hard to pare down to 1000 characters and have to skip some hilarious items like: Two strange electronic devices, found with a set of identifcation for "Commander Pavel Chekov, Starfleet." A heave metal box, 75cm on a side, painted in military green. Each side has the words, "This side towards enemy" printed on it. (Nuclear claymore mine) The "magic gun" that fired the "magic bullet" that killed JFK A large stone tablet, reconstructed from pieces, with writing on it. It is Hebrew and has Commandments 11 through 17 Microscope slide labelled "Turin Shroud section No. 325", with piece of material reading "Made In Korea" in tiny letters Snake Plisken's death certificate A searchlight with the sillouette of a bat on it and Universal Solvent (we think) (bring your own container) (hurry) (never mind...) A great and funny list

POPSLEGO for adults - make guns with LEGO Interesting, here's a book called LEGO for adults, it shows how to make crossbows, pistols and more -- there are only about 1,000 copies because (according to the author) "After 1050 copies were printed, the LEGO Group® forbid the further use of their trademark in connections with guns, so this is the first and only edition called "LEGO for ADULTS"!" via Boingboing gadgets.
