POPSBest Reading ever I am not much on putting up a blog or clip advertising anything or anybody. But I have to share this mans link. You all should know Tom Bodett anyway even if you don't know it. He is that guy you hear in the motel 6 commercials. Mellow but humorous voice that puts you right into his amusing stories. Then series End of the Road had me laughing, crying, and feeling almost as one of the gang of characters in the stories. Yeah i am lazy, so audio books was my choice...lol Him telling the stories made 99 % of the adventure. So anyway....those of you into heartwarming, amusing, humorous books ffollow link to his page. W H Smith is guaranteeing a price of £7.99. Customers must pay a £2 deposit and in return receive a book of vouchers with offers for other Transworld authors. For example, customers can buy one Simon Kernick title and get one free, or buy his latest hardback, Target, at half price. Borders is offering customers £6 off the r.r.p. of £18.99 as well as free copies of David Hewson’s The Lizard’s Bite (Macmillan) and James Twining’s The Double Eagle (HarperCollins). Amazon, Play.com, Waterstone’s and Tesco are offering The Lost Symbol at a half price pre-order of £9.49. Asda is selling it for £13.33 online.

(A proposal that was amended after an outcry from publishers and authors.) Now Amazon has found a new way to rip off authors, who sell audio rights to their books to supplement generally meager incomes. The Kindle II now delivers books via voice - without compensating authors. Here the head of the Author's Guild explains his position. Time for me to find another online book purveyor.

POPSFree Audio Books for Disabled People This site is processing applications for Baen Books, for disabled people to have access to all of Baen's audio and ebook libraries for free. Apparently it is offered to people who have any type of disability which makes reading standard books difficult. This would include vision problems and physical limitations, as well as some learning challenges, such as dyslexia. They have you fill out a simple form, asking for your email address, snail address, phone number, type of disability and doctor's information. I am interested in this because I am the caregiver for a lady who recently lost one eye, and can't see much out of her other eye.
