POPSThe UnConventional Freak car mishap District OCPD Asst Comm Zahruddin Abdullah said the first driver of the car - identified only as Sabri - had earlier got out of the vehicle, which had stalled at the parking lot. He said Sabri then told his 17-year-old sister Nurain to get behind the wheel while he pushed the car in an attempt to jumpstart the engine. While Sabri was pushing the car, the engine suddenly started, causing the car to lunge forward and smash into the retaining wall, which also served as the building's ventilation airway. 'We are looking for Sabri and another woman identified as Nurul Atikah to help in the investigations,' ACP Zahruddin added. A witness, Hazura Ariffin, 25, said she heard a loud bang that shook the building. 'I thought it was an earthquake. I was shocked to see the wrecked car lying in the middle of the mall between the escalators,' she said. -- THE STAR

POPSAnne Mustoe: headmistress and round-the-world cyclist (1933-2009)
More: The glimpse of the lone cyclist which inspired her own ambition to cycle round the world came in January 1983. She said it took her four years from that defining moment to screw up her courage, resign her job and cycle into the sunrise, but she calculated that she had no ties, her stepsons were married off, and she could just afford it if she lived modestly until her pension came through.… All her incident-packed journeys were recounted in a warm, accessible, no-nonsense prose in which a wry, understated humour was coupled with indefatigable fortitude, enthusiasm and optimism, making light of robberies, injuries, freak floods, storms, desert heat waves, blizzards in the Rockies and ferocious winds in Jutland and Patagonia — and even of being knocked off her bike by a short-sighted nonagenarian in a Fiat Panda. Mustoe cycled off on her last expedition in May this year, but became ill in Syria. She died in Aleppo (Haleb). RIP, Ms. Mustoe.

POPSOnline Christmas 101 - From Classic Stop-Action Animation To Christmas 'Abominations' I am a Christmas freak-a-zoid, and this site I came across this morning is AWESOME! It has links to cartoons, movies, music videos, commercials, and more - all things Christmas at the click of a mouse. Be sure not to miss the classics like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and another of my personal faves, 'The Year Without A Santa Claus.' Heat Miser and Cold Miser...remember them? But, most of all, don't miss that classic of classics...Billy Idol singing 'Jingle Bell Rock.'

POPSThis Seems to be Commonplace If the US experienced the same amount of airplane accidents as Indonesia has ferry accidents you can bet the FAA would be all over it. Sometimes there is very good reason for Government regulations. My advise is don't ride on Indonesian ferries.

POPSOne Reason Not To Spend 10 Minutes and 35 Seconds With John Piper He gets a "A" for his efforts at fear mongering. "As the church continues to debate the issue of homosexuality, we find ourselves facing another culture of fear. Many in the church fear those who are other, who are different, and are able to find ways to manipulate scripture to support this fear. And it certainly doesn’t help when extremely influential Christian leaders like John Piper make absolutely ridiculous statements about the connection between a freak tornado and an ELCA meeting. I have to wonder if even John Piper really believes what he has written – or whether this is a convenient way to support the discrimination and hate of the LGBT community. This is conspiratorial bunk that uses the bible as a weapon of ideology, not a source to find God's grace."

POPSA Kilo of Metal Removed From A Peruvian Man's Stomach Now "he is being examined by mental health specialists". I wonder if he was practicing to get into a circus or some kind of "freak show". I have read about people who allegedly could eat metal - don't ask me where or even when I read that, it is all mixed it with the other zillions of bits of trivial information that gets collected in my brain. :-)

POPSMP still keen to be shot with Taser Anything for votes. A politician with no brains power. Nothing new in that. Maybe SM? Doesn't look like a SM freak, but who knows (outside her immediate circle of friends)

POPSAnother Republican says health care reform will destroy America. Rep. Broun, that is. Right -- if a liberal like Grayson calls out Republicans (who have no health care plan), they get their freak on. But I guess they have already been immunized to conservative insanity. Oh, and we have Rep. Gohmert saying this: Dems Would Allow Seniors To "Die Off More Quickly" This is standard conservative behavior that never gets mentioned by the media. It only comes up when a liberal is attacked and then they spend 24-48 hours to defend themselves and are forced to use these outrageous statement made by Republicans. And of course they have no traction, because of the defensive position the media puts liberals in.

POPSFendi Handbag online are available at great discounts Like various other designer bags, Fendi bags are also in huge demand these days. Most of the people prefer knock offs because of the inflated price tags attached to them. If you are a fashion freak and just need a designer Fendi for flaunting, then faux is the best choice.

POPSFirst, Do No Harm BU Med student accused of Craigslist killing and robberies. Gender-bending Harvard-educated rifle-wielding wife-murdering dermatologist Richard Sharpe ends it all in prison. Hooker-frequenting hammer-and-slash wife-murdering prominent allergist Dirk Greineder seeks a new trial. Harvard-trained doc who walked away from surgery does time on drug charges but skates on child rape charges when witness refuses to testify. You’ve got your nursing Angel of Death du jour. Nursing assistant accused of terrorizing elderly. Drug docs to the stars! A rash of them are staring at charges related to buried mistakes Jacko and Anna Nicole. All that’s before you get to the little remarked-upon regular run of docs who believe in hands-on examinations … whether their patients need it or not. In a lot of those cases, the oath should have been “First, Do No Pharm.” But howbout, “First, Weed Out Barmy.” I know, I know, for every murderous, abusive wackjob there are thousands of caring,

POPSEdgar Allan Poe finally getting proper funeral
If you are a fan of E.A.Poe, as I am, this entire article is a must read. ~~~ "When they dug up Poe's body in 1875 to move it, it was mostly skeletal remains," Jerome said. "I've seen remains of people who've been in the ground since that time period, and there's hardly anything left." Instead, Jerome commissioned local special-effects artist Eric Supensky to create an eerily lifelike — or deathlike — mock-up of Poe's corpse. "I got chills," Jerome said Monday upon seeing the body for the first time. "This is going to freak people out." The body will lie in state for 12 hours Wednesday at the Poe House, a tiny rowhome in a gritty section of west Baltimore. Visitors are invited to pay their respects. Following the viewing will be an all-night vigil at Poe's grave . Anyone who attends will have the opportunity to deliver a tribute. On Sunday morning, a horse-drawn carriage will transport the replica of Poe's body from his former home to the graveyard for the funeral.
