Founders of Religions As One
GlennFrancoSimmons
by GlennFrancoSimmons  12-27-2009
Though they were different souls, the Founders of the divinely revealed religions were from the same Source. Yet in humanity, these religions continue to argue among each other and one another.

We Can’t Sit Back and Allow the Loss of Our Freedoms By Judge Andrew P. Napolitano
merrie
by merrie  12-24-2009    3
The privacy of your communications and medical decision making with your physician will be gone. More of your hard earned dollars will be at the disposal of federal bureaucrats. It was not supposed to be this way. We elect the government. It works for us. How did it get so removed, so unbridled, so arrogant that it can tell us how to live our personal lives? Evil rarely comes upon us all at once, and liberty is rarely lost in one stroke. It happens gradually, over the years and decades and even centuries. A little stretch here, a cave in there, powers are slowly taken from the states and the people and before you know it, we have one big monster government that recognizes no restraint on its ability to tell us how to live. It claims the power to regulate any activity, tax any behavior, and demand conformity to any standard it chooses. The Founders did not give us a government like the one we have today. The government they gave us was strictly limited in its scope,

Seems a lot of folks in US Congress need to go back to school and take civics class on US Constitution - it would be too funny if it were not so serious. I guess we need a Leave No Congress Member behind law or to require they pass a cvics class before they can take their seat! Grin.

Google Inc Chief Executive Eric Schmidt said in a recent interview that he is very much excited about the new free operating system which is going to be launched next year. He said that his excitement is just a recent phenomenon as he spent the first 6 years as Google CEO trying to convince company co-founders that developing such a free operating system against Microsoft dominant windows would be a very fabulous idea.

Communism: the Ponzi scheme of ideologies
dl211
by dl211  11-18-2009    4
Leszek Kolakowski, one of the most articulate critics of Marxism, said "the lie is the immortal soul of communism." Marxist leaders depended on lying to their subjects, to the outside world and especially to themselves. Communism became a paradise for amateurs, political bosses who believed in their own ill-formed knowledge and discovered that the threat of prisons and firing squads conveyed legitimacy on whatever crazy ideas they uttered. Eduard Shevardnadze, Soviet foreign minister under Gorbachev (and later the president of Georgia), took the events of 1989 quite calmly. He had known all along that the system had to collapse and people like him would lose their jobs. "Our empire was doomed," he told his chief advisor. "But we did not think it would come so soon."

Enumerated Powers Act: Interview with Walter E. Williams
merrie
by merrie  11-6-2009    2
who has introduced it every Congress since 1995, it does not allow them to get away with the Commerce Clause and the General Welfare Clause. They have to specifically point in the Constitution where they get the authority. And as a matter of fact the reason the Enumerated Powers Act’s maximum number of co-sponsors in the House has been 31, or it could be a bit higher than that (and it has never had a co-sponsor in the Senate until this year) is that the Congressmen can read the writing on the wall. If Congress were forced to obey the United States Constitution, then I would say that two-thirds to three-quarters of all the spending Congress does would be found to be unconstitutional. ALL RIGHT MAGAZINE: You’re probably right about that. Article 1, Section 8 has a very short list of things government is able to do according to the word of the law. WALTER E. WILLIAMS: That’s right, and if you read the Founders’ statements, they say that Congress can only do those things....

Republicans Need to Dump the Neoconservatives
blueridge
by blueridge  11-3-2009    1
The republicans need a "tea party" within their own camp! The Bush and present GOP "conservatives" are pushing big government Statism as much as Democrats, with only a different slant. Wars for democracy are a key element of both parties now. There is an insidious philosophy underlying this acceptance of the "natural" growth of statism. Neoconservative columnist David Brooks wrote ... we need "a vigorous One Nation Conservatism ... by making the nation great, individuals are able to join their narrow concerns to a larger national project." Actually, it was originally the Democrats that used to believe in curtailing the powers of the Federal government. (This was after the Civil War where they were called Dixie-crats). Obama's Disdain for Constitution
merrie
by merrie  10-27-2009    4
That's why they are "so-called Founders" to him. Here is Thomas Jefferson's first inaugural address, March 4th, 1801: "A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson, "so-called Founder." Thomas Jefferson: "Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but only those specifically enumerated." So-called Founder. John Adams, A Defense of the Constitutions of Governments of the United States of America, 1787: "The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the law of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence."

Nepomuceno streets adding beauty and splendour to the City and helping restore the old glory that once was Manila.
