POPSPhilippines-France Diplomatic Relations The Treaty provides that there shall be "constant peace and perpetual friendship" between the Philippines and France and today provides the foundation for the enduring ties between both countries. Historically these ties can trace their roots to the French Revolution, which is said to have inspired Andres Bonifacio and the Philippine Revolution of 1896.

POPSShip of Fools: Obama's Intimates and Advisors 5. Samantha Power -- Senior Director, Multilateral Affairs, National Security Council. Ms. Power, a professor of public policy at Harvard was only seemingly thrown under the Obama campaign bus for referring to Hillary Clinton as "a monster" during the 2008 Democrat primary. In 2009 President Obama, tapped her to occupy her senior White House foreign policy position. Ms. Power, a "fierce critic of Israel,... was indisputably Barack Obama's closest foreign policy adviser during the campaign 6. Charles Freeman -- Nominated, but not confirmed, as Chairman of the (United States) National Intelligence Council - which is responsible for producing national intelligence estimates for the president and his advisors. Mr. Freeman has a distinguished résumé of long service in both the State and Defense Departments... however

POPSObama Snubs Dalai Lama to Please China Obama is scared of China and he thinks that by snubbing the Dalai Lama this will somehow show China the U.S. knows how to choose its friends? This is a disgusting display of kowtowing. And Obama won the Nobel prize for what? Oh yeah, "Extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

POPSNew Oklahoma law will publicly post details of women's abortions online More: “They’re really just trying to frighten women out of having abortions ,” Keri Parks, director of external affairs at Planned Parenthood of Central Oklahoma, said. The Center for Reproductive Rights is challenging the law, arguing that “it violates the Oklahoma Constitution because it ‘ covers more than one subject ’ — a challenge that previously worked to strike down an abortion ultrasound law.” Too bad "because it's a gross violation of privacy and nobody's business but the woman's and her doctor's" doesn't seem to be one of the factors. NOTE: Comments claiming that abortion is murder or insulting women who have abortions or the doctors who perform them will be deleted . Take it somewhere else if you want to have that discussion.

POPSA glossary of terms in foreign affairs The Jericho 1 missile, which can carry nuclear warheads or about 1,000 pounds of chemicals or high explosives, was launched from a missile-testing facility at Yavne, Israel, on April 6 and landed about 40 miles from the USS Anzio, they said. . . . ne of the Defense Department officials ... said the repeated "no-notice" launches have made the Pentagon think that the Israelis are trying to prevent the United States from monitoring the tests and acquiring technical data about the operation of the Jericho.

POPSThe UN Loves Barack Obama Because He Is Weak
Not convinced about that last “seething with anti-Americanism” line, though. I think the world actually loves America. That’s why the world is all trying to get here. The world just has a bit of an adolescent attitude toward America’s dad-like role in the world. . . I’d say it’s more the United Nations General Assembly that is seething with anti-Americanism. Get back on topic, Nile! OK, here we go: It is natural that much of the UN will embrace an American president who declines to offer strong American leadership. A president who engages dictators like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez will naturally gain respect from the leaders of the more than 100 members of the United Nations who are currently designated as “partly free” or “not free” by respected watchdog Freedom House. The UN is not a club of democracies - who still remain a minority within its membership " it is a vast melting pot of free societies, socialist regimes and outright tyrannies.

POPSObama on ACORN... And just exactly what is he "following"? This organization helped get him elected. The current President will spend the next 3 1/2 yrs. telling us that he knows nothing about innumerable things....including foreign & domestic affairs...which are his primary Presidential responsibilities. ACORN is thoroughly corrupt. Now how does he extricate himself from them?

POPSIsrael Defies U.S. on Settlements Here's the latest response to the USA & EU request for a settlement freeze, ending of seizing Palestinian land, etc. 1. We will continue building our settlements. 2. We approved the building of more settlements a few days ago. 3. We'll think about slowing down construction in the future. 4. But if we do slow down construction it will only be a temporary gesture. 5. Also....the West Bank all really belongs to Israel. From now all we call them Judea and Samaria. 6. We're open to discuss how long we would slow down construction if we do "slow," construction at all. Humm...well, at least this position is very clear. It really has ALWAYS been the Israeli position but not so blantant -- at least now there is no "pretenses for peace."

POPSSA Suspends ID Suicide Officials he Department of Home Affairs has come under heavy criticism over the years for its inefficiency in issuing ID documents, birth certificates and passports, with some people claiming to have waited up to four years. He had apparently been trying to get an ID card for some time without any luck and had been told to bring someone who could vouch for his nationality. But the official did not believe that the man he brought along was his father, tore up Mr Mhlongo's papers and called him a "kwere-kwere" - a derogatory term used for foreign nationals. He apparently left the suicide note before hanging himself. Tragic.

POPS Russian Professor – Collapse Of America Could Begin In Two Months
whereas Obama was just a social worker. His mentality is totally different. He’s a nice person and talks nicely – but he’s not a leader and will take America to a crash. When Americans understand that – it will be like a bomb explosion.” Since 1998, Panarin has been warning of a future disintegration of the United States and the collapse of the dollar. The recent election victory for Japan’s Democratic Party is another sign that the economic collapse of the U.S. is imminent, according to Panarin. “Today I received another confirmation that the collapse of the dollar and the US is inevitable. Japan’s Democratic Party won the election, and I’d like to remind you that its leader has the snubbing of the dollar among his economic plans. In plainer words, he plans to transfer Japan’s monetary reserves from US dollars into another currency. The move will seriously accelerate the dollar’s exchange slump as early as this November. Disintegration will follow shortly,” he s

POPSSiren falling on deaf ears Ther internet has been awash with erudite pieces and condemnation of ineptitude and incompetence by the British government, yet a vocal minority of pinkoe activists and blatant liars have held a once great nation to ransom. Call a puffter a name and you are sent to jail. Demand the rightsd of brave Britons to defend themselves and you are outcast and demonised. Come home a phyical wreck and you are worth a passing remark by Broon and his falacious brood. Come home in a pine box and only the wonderful people of Wooton Basset will give you the welcome you deserve. No wonder our kith and kin in Canada and Antipodes emigrated. Nothing is being said about the Christians being burned alive today in India by their Muslim neighbours. What a wonderful world.

POPSGuantanamo inmates for Ireland
While the two men were not being admitted as refugees within the terms of the Geneva Convention, Mr Ahern said he intended to adhere to the norms of official procedure in respecting the rights of the two men to their privacy. “There would not therefore be public disclosure of any personal information, family situations, nor would details of the arrangements for travel to Ireland be made public,” he said. The Minister said he made the decision to accept the men after receiving a report from a group of Irish officials last weeek on their visit to Washington and Guantanamo. Mr Ahern said he was conscious of the intention of the Obama administration to close the centre at Guantanamo Bay, “in part by transferring detainees, no longer regarded as posing a threat to security but who cannot return to their own countries, to other countries willing to accept them.” He said during his tenure as Minister for Foreign Affairs he had consistently called for the closure of the detention f

POPSA Day and a Night at the Hotel Gaza Remember the films: A Day at the Opera, Bagdad Cafe, and the Road to Singapore all strangely funny comedies - yes. Unfortunately, the current situation of trying to get aid into Gaza and the speed bumps that Egypt keeps tossing in seem like a bad remake of these films with Egypt, an otherwise great place, seemingly intent on making a bad situation worse.
