POPSMoney for Health Care Bill Note the excise tax on private insurance plans. That should kill private health insurance. Also note the "cuts" to Medicare. This is where the largest amount of money will be gathered. Anyone on Medicare or Medicaid will be forced to accept the government health care program.

POPSNew Bill Will Prompt Drug Testing for Welfare Recipients I think the majority of tax payers would go for this bill. After all if you have to be subjected to random drug testing to keep your job, why shouldn’t those who live off of your tax dollars have to as well? No one wants to pay for someone else’s drug use. There is a lot of animosity towards people who collect welfare and buy drugs etc while tax payers work to support them. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying every welfare recipient fits this narrow view. But there are some that do. I like the idea that they would be sent through a drug rehab program instead of prison. But, who’s going to pay for that? If you agree with this, contact your member of Congress and tell him or her to support H.R. 3656.

POPSBlue Dog Dem: Healthcare CORPORATIONS more inportant than people The Blue Dog Dems are nothing but corporate tools, bought & paid for . I'm so sick of the "rationed care" meme. We ration care in this country based on how much you can afford. For more and more Americans, that's ZERO. And in rationing care based on how much you can afford, we spend MORE MONEY and have WORSE HEALTH OUTCOMES that just about every other industrialized nation. The people who cry over the evils of "Socialized Medicine" have no problem with "Corporate Medicine". The same corporatist framework that gave us Enron, Worldcom, Tyco, and the others yet undiscovered, waiting to explode. These are the profit-driven "bureaucrats" that right now, at this moment, are looking for ways to deny paying for people's healthcare (even in the absence of fraud) because FINDING WAYS TO NOT PAY PEOPLE'S HEALTH BILLS IS MORE PROFITABLE THAN ACTUALLY PAYING THEM!

POPS Obugger's Wealth Share...um...Health Care Ten Reasons Why Medicare for All Will Be AWESOME! 1. It’s patriotic to pay taxes. If you have to pay taxes anyway, you might as well fund a good cause, excessive taxation being the greatest form of charity (for those who didn’t earn the money in the first place). Medicare for All is as good a cause as any other, except for maybe freedom. Besides, it’s not every day you get to put best in class American ingenuity into the hands of bureaucrats and completely destroy it, all while finding your government sponsored sunny breezy day. This satire has been cross-posted at Smart Girl Nation and The American TEA Party. http://smartgirlpolitics.ning.com/forum/topics/health-care-ration-book http://teapartyamerica.blogspot.com/2009/06/ten-reasons-why-medicare-for-all-will.html

POPSClassic Extortion "According to Fox News judicial analyst and New Jersey Superior Court Judge Andrew P. Napolitano, banks with no financial problems were forced to sell stock to the government or face the threat of costly and harassing public audits. This happened to banks that had "no bad debt, no credit default swaps, no liquidity problems, and no subprime loans" and didn't want or need any government funds.Judge Napolitano called the government actions what they are: "classic extortion."

POPSTemporary Slavery Called "Service" Is Still Temporary Slavery The letter immediately following mine is better: Dan Rodricks' column "Americans poised to heed Obama's call to service" advocates national service. He favors not just voluntary service but paid service - that is, a government jobs program in which bureaucrats decide how to spend even more of our tax dollars. That's bad enough. But then Mr. Rodricks goes the extra step and suggests that the national service program should be mandatory. Forced labor is slavery, whether the slaves are paid with room and board or with money. Let's not pretend mandatory national service is anything but a sanitized form of slavery. It's a shameful idea in a country that's supposed to stand for freedom. David Page Baltimore

POPSGovernment Report Details Failures of Rebuilding Iraq
This also is part of Bush’s legacy. Pentagon officials should also be held to account for mismanagement and the inflated numbers (lies) it gave the public and the administration. Our leaders are more concerned with covering their own asses when things go wrong than admitting mistakes and working to improve them. These are supposed to be educated, professional people. Money for construction projects are divided up by a spoils system controlled by neighborhood politicians and tribal chiefs. "Our district council chairman has become the Tony Soprano of Rasheed, in terms of controlling resources," said a U.S. Embassy official working in a dangerous Baghdad neighborhood, referring to the popular TV mob boss. "'You will use my contractor or the work will not get done."' The reconstruction effort has failed because no single agency in the U.S. government has responsibility for the job. This can also be said for the collapsing economy we Americans are being forced to endure.

POPSBeyond The Fat Cats "We can find trillions for a foolish war and for pompous, self-righteous high-rollers who wrecked their companies and the economy. But what about the working poor and the young people who are being clobbered in this downturn, battered so badly that they’re all but destitute? Can we find any way to help them?"

POPSTed Haggard Completes “Spiritual Restoration Program” And the money quote: "New pastor Brady Boyd said Haggard was now free to live where he wanted and has returned to Colorado Springs." Wasn't he free to live anywhere he wanted before? I mean he wasn't charged with having and using of Meth or soliciting a prostitute (sorry a whore is a whore regardless of sex). Oh he meant he is de-gayed. Ooh! I see!

POPSGood News on NCLB--Maybe Beyond the issue of not paying, however, is the actual value of this test-driven curriculum that is being forced onto teachers and students. Add to that the real reasons behind NCLB, providing all the student records to military recruiters, the destruction of public education system and increasing privatization– subtext in the program. And how many parents actually know that they can REFUSE TESTING???

POPSRight-wing propaganda machines "We are in a battle for the heart and soul of this country, but the battle is not in Washington and it isn't at the ballot box. At least not in its heart. It is on our TVs and newspapers and radios and blogs." "The cancer knows this, which is why they shriek about "media bias" and claim that the media is "left wing." Because this fiction, this justification for their own moral, intellectual, spiritual and ethical bankruptcy must exist for them to maintain their own operation. Without this straw man "liberal media" beast for them to quixotically chase like so many children playing "adult" dress-up by putting on their parent's tie and glasses, they must face their own fraudulence just as a child is forced to admit to a parent when he's lying." "And they can't face themselves for what they really are. To reach this state of awareness is to pull back the curtain and reveal their own rotten soul, consumed by hatred and rage." Well said.
