POPS10:10 - The time for action If people cut 10 per cent CO2 emissions a year for five years ... I wonder whether the first 10 per cent is the most difficult, and it then becomes easier. Or is it the other way around? Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this kind of activity that government and its bureaucracies become increasingly irrelevant.

POPSDec 26: Unshop on Boxing Day Boxing Day, a stat holiday in Canada, is apparently the BIGGEST shopping day of the year. In keeping with my degrowth mission, Boxing Day is a great UNshopping Day. Lots of good ideas for NOT shopping here. And, of course, don't forget to UNshop on FullCircles / Freecycle / ReUseIt / Freegle, etc.

POPSPETA vs. Warmists. Who will win this war? Wow. Most of my dear friends who believe in the disastrous human impact on our global climate are also devoted pet-lovers (and very good people). How will they reconcile their love for the planet and their love for Spot and Fluffy? Guess they'll be eating lots of veggies and walking to work.

POPSThe Truth About CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) vs. "Climate" Hysteria CO2 is NOT a pollutant--it's natural and essential for life! Maybe those who cry loudest against CO2 should save or hold their breath, literally, since they are expelling so much CO2 in their political propaganda, while attempting to overthrow civilization. Any government, whether national or global, that attempts to regulate the necessities of life (including your own breathing!), is erecting the largest tyranny of all.

POPSMartha's Vineyard rich liberals: "No wind turbines, they spoil my ocean view" The hypocrisy of the wealthy celebrity warmists whose lifestyle makes a daily carbon footprint as large as one of China’s coal-fired plants is astounding. They reject a wind farm in Nantucket bay because it will spoil their view. I could care less that Al Gore has made a bigger mess of the environment with his nine concerts than years of single toilet paper use by the entire population could compensate for. I am tired of hearing that it’s my responsibility to reduce this myth of global warming. I’m tired of being told I’m “addicted to oil,” when the country’s entire infrastructure is built on the automobile. These people are idiots. I'd like to throw them all into Nantucket Bay where they'll be Aquaman's problem instead.

POPSHYPOCRITICAL SCAM ARTISTS Approximately 140 aircraft carrying world leaders, heads of state and VIPs will land in Copenhagen, the U.N. estimates — although 95 percent of departures from Copenhagen Airport will be “green departures,” which allow airplanes to climb continuously to their optimal operating level, enabling them to reach planned routes sooner than usual. The result, according to the U.N., is saved time, fuel and carbon emissions. But Michaels wonders why attendees, particularly those in Europe, can't ride the rails into Copenhagen. “That’s the way I get to New York,” Michaels said. “There’s nothing new here. There’s always been a lot of hypocrisy amongst the climate change political community. "Prince Charles goes around the world in a private jet, telling everyone else they need to ration their carbon dioxide. Please.”

POPSGore's 'carbon offsets' paid to firm he owns Gore, whose film warning of a coming cataclysm due to man-made "global warming" won two Oscars, has a mansion in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville that consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year
