POPSWhere's Waldo? "I guess you could cut off the battery packs," he said. "But it's so specialized it really doesn't have many other applications." There are two other drones with similar capabilities at Mote but they belong to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration -- and there are no funds available for them to perform Waldo's mission. "We'd have to go back to sending people out in boats to collect water samples," he said. "That's not a very efficient way to do it." Waldo, a scientific robot used to detect red tide, was last heard from on Monday. Mote is offering a $500 reward. Well it had a pretty long working life I suppose. It was probably eaten by a Great White Shark. That's my guess, anyway.

POPSNorth Korea Fires more missile's
Also read their threats. I am soooooooo tired of the threats by this backward nation of terrorist's it makes my blood boil. What is it going tto take beofre the whole world has had enough of it and just goes in and wipes them out. It is amazing how easily everybody forgot this is the same rhetoric that came from Hitlers mouth before that country killed untold millions because they followed a moron. I myself wish the us would just fly over with their stealth's and blow the place off the map. Everybody is going to just stand by saying it's only idle threats until they sell nuclear weapons to other terrorist countries or launch one them self. They are so much a terrorist country and immature they have no idea how easy it would be with todays technology to annihilate them. It's not like it was during the korean war now. Won't be anymore battlefront skirmishes, just stealth bombers wiping them out. It reminds me of ancient cavemen rattling their bones againt modern man.

Following are excerpts from two Al-Arabiya TV reports on Somali pirates, which aired on April 19 and 20, 2009. To view this clip, visit http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/2087.htm. Reporter: "We Wanted to Talk to One of the Most Famous Pirates, Who Is Known as Boyah, the Emir of the Pirates" Reporter: "Here in the Somali coastal town of Harardere, Sirius Star, the biggest oil tanker in the world, was anchored, until the pirates released it in exchange for a three million dollar ransom. During the three months in which Sirius Star was held captive, an Al-Arabiya TV news team made an attempt to approach it, aboard a small fishing boat. They managed to get as close as 500 meters from the Saudi vessel before the guards warned them not to come any closer, forcing our colleagues, Al-Zubeir and Al-Bukhari, to return to shore. "A few days before the tanker was released, however, one of the pirates sent us these exclusive images of this enormous Saudi tanker, which is bigger than a

POPSOverfishing takes toll on Bluefin tuna I love fishing. Some of the most enjoyable time spent on earth has been fishing. I hate to see the extinction of any animals but when I read recently that stocks were estimated to be at 3% of the levels they were 50 years ago I was floored. This blog is mainly about marijuana reform but its also about activism. This one is close to my heart.

POPSGermany in shock: a polar bear eats a fish "The Frankfurter Allgemeine news website reports that Knut "senselessly murdered the carp", fishing them out, playing with them and then leaving the remains." Doh. It's a polar bear. It has a natural instinct. It is SUPPOSED to kill fish. Hand-rearing it may mess with its head, but it will not remove instinct. And nor should it. Also, anyone who thought the carp would be left alone to eat algae and remain intact is stupider than those who succumbed to "Knut-mania" int he first place. And if somebody put the carp in there to show that the polar in question was a wild animal and not some sort of vegetarian celebrity then good on them! An animal is an animal. Full stop.
