POPSAs American Civilization Goes Away - Stealing Jesus So far in 2008, Baby Jesus has appeared in several police reports. At First United Methodist Church in Kittanning, Pa., a baby Jesus was stolen and replaced with a pumpkin. In Eureka Springs, Ark., someone who absconded with a plastic baby Jesus from a public display last week also took the concrete block and chain that was supposed to act as a deterrent. Previously, stolen Jesus figurines have also been defaced with profanity or Satanic symbols.

POPSBush 'may convert to Catholicism' Yesterday the Vatican was seething at rumours that there was much more to it than protocol: George Bush,lifelong Methodist, was about to convert. The Vatican differs from the White House on immigration and the death penalty but on other issues including stem cell research, gay marriage and abortion there has been, as the Catholic daily L'Avvenire put it, "total harmony." .. Independent He'll have to become a Christian first, won't he?

POPSSA police arrest 1,500 in church The South African Police now seem to be playing a game of "blame the victim" was we are seeing scenes that we have not seen since aparthneid ended in 1994. The government has watched as Zimbabwe turns into a fascist dictatorship and hundreds of thousands of refugees have poured into South Africa. The SA government has said very little to the government that has driven them out, but instead treasts the refugees almost as badly as they are treated at home. During the South African liberation struggle South African exiles found homes in neighbouring countries, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mocambique, as well as places further away such as Britain, Sweden and other European countries. Yet now when we have our freedom and others flee to us for asylum, we persecute them,

The Executive Order extends these powers to a president's heirs. a petition drive was launched by bishops, clergy and laity of the United Methodist Church that "call for the SMU trustees and the UMC to reject the Bush project. POPSChurches ad hoc: a divine comedy - A Photo Essay Edited 8/6/07 - see comments below A collection of photos taken by Herman Krieger. Churches ad hoc was introduced on the Internet in 1996. Since then, references to it have appeared in a large number of Christian, as well as atheist, web sites. Each group seems to find a reflection of their own views in the captioned photographs. Excerpts from the series have appeared in places as diverse as the Internet edition of The New York Times, a Methodist church calendar, a rock band cassette cover, the religion pages of the Stockholm Svenska Dagbladet newspaper, and a Cornell Law School poster for a national conference on The Consitution and Religion: Theory and Practice. I take photographs to amuse myself as well as the occasional spectator. Exhibiting photographs for mutual pleasure is similar to a comedian telling jokes to an appreciative audience. But comedy is more serious than photography.

POPSVanunu and Pollard: Hero vs. Spy!!!! I'm the son of a Holocaust Survivor. I am also a Certified Lay Speaker in the Metropolitan District, New York Annual Conference, United Methodist Church. I am considered a Jewish Christian or Christian Jew, whichever you prefer, having been Bar-Mitzvahed in 1970 into the Tribe of Levi . Israel is a foreign nation when it comes to classified material. It had no right to it. It still doesn’t, unless the classifying authority says it does. In the case of the material I was responsible for, that authority is the president of the United States and no one else. Pollard is a traitor and deserves the punishment he is receiving. He is no better than the Walkers or Aldrich Ames. Any efforts to paint him in a heroic light are repugnant and a stain upon responsible American Jewry. Pollard claimed we had a duty to Israel as well as the US. I had no such divided loyalties. Our loyalty is, was and always shall be to the USA, first, last and always.
