POPSSuper Sperm more (at source): The researcher said: 'Sometimes, during the fine-tuning process, high rates of infertility can be seen. That's probably the reason for the very high rates of unexplained infertility in the last decades.' Dr Hasson, of Tel Aviv University in Israel, says women's bodies have gradually evolved extra 'defences' to force sperm to become more competitive to reach the egg at all. Men have responded by making more of the aggressive super-sperm. Once the first sperm fertilises an egg, a woman's body throws up a further range of biochemical defences to stop all the others reaching it. Dr Hasson said: 'To avoid the fatal consequences of polyspermy, female reproductive tracts have evolved to become formidable barriers to sperm.

POPSMen: Get Laptops Off Your Laps When laptops are used every day for many years, “there is no time between exposures to allow the testicular function to return to normal,” Sheynkin says. “The situation may be irreversible. The best recommendation is to not use a laptop in the laptop position. This is a preventable problem.” (Yikes!)

POPSThe tick of the male biological clock? from the article: "He believes the risks for children of older fathers will eventually be seen to be as noteworthy as the risks facing older mothers. “It’s going to be more and more of an issue to society,” he notes." One of the most important differences that affect the male/female barrier is the biological clock tick and tack. We all remember Charlie Chaplin as an exemplar of late parenthood. And here we begin to observe that it ain't so exactly. it is still not the same as with females in many aspects, one of them in this context is the fact that for females it is a yes or no question of fertility at some point. Nevertheless it does potentially carry a crack of more understanding , maybe, to the other gender? not to mention the possible technological horizon of reproduction being departed from its crude specific and local biological origin. Fascinating....

POPSViolence Against Women - or Fatherhood and Men? Since the inception of the Violence Against Women Act in 1994, the domestic violence industry has had over ten years to solve, or improve, the problem of domestic violence in our society. Billions and billions of dollars have been spent to create a fat, bloated bureaucracy that appears at times to have done as much to harm to the lives of women as it has done to help, and soon that bureaucracy will be asking for more money. Please see eluris.typepad.com/best_interests or contact ajt@web20mates.com for more information.

POPSThe Obama Family Attend Services In Chicago With his head bowed, the younger Brazier said as worshipers joined hands, “We ask that you give him great wisdom, knowledge, power and understanding. We pray that you give him the mind of Christ, so that when he speaks, demons will tremble, mountains will be removed, and when the firing guards of the enemy are flung his way, that the prayers of the saved protect him and let the world know that no weapon formed against him shall prosper.”

POPSChristian Science Monitor on Reverend Wright - Did Obama's Pastor Preach Hate?
What people hear depends on their own experience and worldview, says Teresa Brown, who teaches the art of preaching at Emory U. in Atlanta. "I listen to 60 sermons a week by black and white pastors, you can find something in almost any one that is offensive to somebody." The key as to whether language is hate speech lies in a preacher's overall message, according to Martin Marty, of the University of Chicago Divinity School and renowned historian of religion. Dr. Marty, who has visited Trinity many times, says, "If Wright only had whites in his searchlight, you might call it . But he goes after the men in his church" about fatherhood, he puts himself and his people under the prophetic spotlight. "The black church took the distorted version of Christianity that provided the religious justification for slavery, carved out the racist elements ..and implanted new content that actually moved Christianity in this country closer to Jesus' message," says Dr. Braxton.
