POPSIsaac Asimov said... One of my all time favourites. So often we can let moral outrage lead us to commit acts of unkindness or even cruelty. We can also flaunt our moral superiority in order to belittle others - "Oh, it smells lovely, but I'm sorry, I only drink "fair-trade". I was a vegetarian for 23 years (poverty eventually led to a return to omnivorousness), but if I was invited to a dinner and the host had, for some reason, not prepared a vegetarian option I would eat the meat and not mention my goddam principles. Which is the lesser evil? Offending a kind and well meaning friend for no reason other than one's own moral position, or eating some already dead and cooked flesh?
