POPSWe Must Be On Guard For Extremism "When dealing with soldiers far from their homes and families and subject to the greatest imaginable stress, the Army needs to be on the watch for the predatory inroads of any form of political or religious extremism -- whether it be the jihadism to which Hasan was drawn or the Christian identity nonsense that inspired Timothy McVeigh."

POPS10% US Mosques preach Jihad The problem is not the Quran, which is no more incendiary than some passages in the Bible. (Deuteronomy, for example, prescribes stoning to death for those who “served other gods and worshipped them.”) The problem is the radical element that uses the Quran as an excuse to engage in terrorism and the failure of many moderate Muslims to condemn the extremists.

POPSLieberman Refuses to Ignore the Obvious Why was this man *ever* on the ticket with Al Gore??? FTA: "why it is that eight years after 9/11, Hasan’s behavior did not set off alarm bells?" Complacency and PC. As I've said in other clips, freedom of Religion is a foundational stone of our Constitution. Freedom of Speech is also. However, if it quacks like a duck...it might be a duck and it's those who are in authority who are responsible to discern.

POPSDana Milbank Is, as Mark Levin Describes Him, "A Punk, a Liar and a Coward"
Constitutional attorney, bestselling author and hit radio show host Mark Levin certainly doesn't mince words. Alerted to Milbank's latest hit piece in The Washington Post, Levin called Milbank out as a propagandist of the first order. The reason: out of literally tens of thousands of patriotic signs and shirts at Thursday's Capitol Hill protest, Milbank picked out a handful as supposedly representative of a crowd he described as "hateful and gruesome." An outraged Levin called Milbank a "punk, a liar and a coward" while challenging him to a debate on his show. Here's a Nazi reference that Milbank might appreciate: I think of him as the Josef Goebbels of his age. He writes patent propaganda in service of the State. And I can prove it. Bubba visited DC for the rally and wandered through the crowd for hours taking scores of photos. I created a montage -- click to zoom if you'd like read the dozens of visible messages -- from his collection.

POPSSaudi Royal Air Force carries strikes against Yemeni rebels
The same dynamic has played out in various forms in Lebanon, where Iran supports the Shiite militant Hezbollah and Saudi Arabia favors a U.S.-backed faction, and in Iraq, where Saudi Arabia and Iran have thrown support to conflicting sides in the Sunni-Shiite struggle. A top Saudi government adviser confirmed "a large scale" military operation underway on the Saudi-Yemeni border with further reinforcements sent to the rugged, mountainous area. "It is a sustained operation which aims to finish this problem on our border," he said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue. He said Saudi troops were coordinating with Yemen's army, but Yemen's defense ministry denied the Saudis were inside the country. The northern rebels, known as Hawthis, have been battling Yemeni government forces the past few months in the latest flare-up of a sporadic five-year conflict. They claim their needs are ignored by a Yemeni government that is increasingly allied wit

POPSFBI Demands Tattoo Shops Rat On Customers It is not merely “extremist symbols.” In addition, the FBI literature instructs tattoo shops to be on the look-out for people who change hair color, style of dress, or shave beards between visits. Suspicious people also include those with missing fingers or hands, chemical burns, strange orders or bright colored stains on clothing. Read the handout below for more absurd “extremist” indicators according to the FBI.

POPSPakistan Dawn, Pakistan Trutherism Obama's military problem is getting worse President Obama is presiding over a slow-motion civil-military crash occasioned by his meandering Afghanistan strategy review. The crash has not yet happened and is avoidable, but it also foreseeable. Of concern, the latest reports out of the White House suggest that Obama's team is not yet fully aware of the dangers. If it happens, it will be a problem entirely of Obama's own making and it could have a lasting impact on the way his administration unfolds. As Rich Lowry has observed, President Obama rarely misses a chance to blame a challenge he is confronting on his predecessor. This rhetorical tic served Obama well during the campaign and probably still resonates with partisans who post anonymous comments on blogs or who suffer from chronic Bush Derangement Syndrome. . . .

POPSMass-Murderer Mao: WH Communication Directors's Favorite Politician the people can say how you can do this? Mao said, 'You fight your war, I'll fight mine'... you don't have to accept the definition of how to do things... you fight your own war. So Anita Dunn, White House Communications Director, has a favorite politician: the Hitler of China, Mao Tse-Tung. The man who slaughtered 70 million innocents. But Fox News is the "enemy". Un-f***ing-believable. Hat tip: Brutally Honest. Others on the case: Michelle Malkin, Ace o' Spades, Hot Air Pundit.

POPSStratfor: Hezbollah Gets Punk'd There were three men on board, one of whom said they represented EDL and that the purpose of their visit was to upgrade electricity meter switches in the neighborhood... The explosion occurred three hours after the presumably fake EDL van had left the building... ...Hezbollah uses numerous basements in the south Litani area as weapons depots in violation of U.N. Resolution 1701, which ended the 33-day military campaign by Israel against Hezbollah forces in Lebanon in July 2006 and called for Hezbollah’s disarmament. UNIFIL lacks the capability to enforce the resolution, and the Lebanese army lacks both the capability and the will to confront Hezbollah over this explosive issue... ...Hezbollah’s rearmament is naturally a concern for Israel, but the Israeli intelligence apparatus has ways to derail Hezbollah’s plans, and blowing up a munitions depot is not beyond its means.

POPSAssassinating President George Bush in 48 seconds Yet liberals are a miserable bunch. For them, wish fulfillment means there’s no happy ending. "Death of a President" - So apparently portraying the assassination of President Bush back in 2007 is what passed for cinematic art. What is it about the World Left and their fantasies about assassinating Republican Presidents? They romanticize endlessly about the murderous Che Guevara without ever letting people know his deadly history. You can’t get them to be honest about the threat of Islamic extremism…well, the one guy that was honest about it was murdered for it (Dutch film maker Theo van Gogh) with nary a cry from Hollywood about how it represented at the very least a suppression of the right to free speech. But it's for sure you can get them making logically absurd and politically one-sided movies about genocidal American soldiers, the “righteousness” of assassinating Richard Nixon and George Bush.

POPSRace Card resurgence (Johnson), and under threat of other varieties of violent, disaffected white supremacist extremism (U.S. Department of Homeland Security). Barack Obama is smart enough to know this is not true. He knows he has sold his initiative poorly, that his timing is bad and his politicking is worse. At some point in the not-too-distant future, whether his health-care plan continues to crash and burn or is resurrected in a new figleaf evolution, the president needs tell the nation that it is OK to disagree with him, that political dissent and even anger do not equal racism. Not simply as a throwaway remark in an interview with a TV news anchor, or an aside in speech. He could invite U.S. representatives Joe Wilson and Johnson, former President Carter, New York Times scribbler Dowd, shrill standup act Garfalo and a lot of Tea Party organizers over for beers, but that approach was trite before he tried it last time, and this situation is more serious than a

POPSPeaceful vs Militant Islamic Schools - Which is Winning?
For young Muslim boys, often, the only way they may get to learn how to read and write is to attend a local religious school - a madrassa - where they learn how to read and write using the Koran as their basic book. Over the past 10-15 years many of these schools in Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt and other countries also became sources of militant fundametalist teachings that seemed to overpower the peaceful or submit to God messages of Islam. If the militancy is now changing, some may be due to efforts such as those noted in the article and much may be due to pressure from those who pay for the schools and its teachers - Saudi Arabia. To make sure that their view of Islam was supported worldwide and to maintain their role as "protectors of the faith," they ramped up spending on these school some 10-15 years ago. The unintended consequences of terrorism that now threatens the Kingdom as well, has, I am sure led them to use their purses trings to reign in the militantcy te

POPSWall Street's Disaster Has Spawned Our Greatest Terrorist Threat It turns out that Wall Street, rather than Islamic jihad, has produced our most dangerous terrorists. We will see accelerated plant and retail closures, inflation, an epidemic of bankruptcies, new rounds of foreclosures, bread lines, unemployment surpassing the levels of the Great Depression and, as Blair fears, social upheaval.

I'm angry!" • Obama to his paid ACORN mercenaries (on the taxpayer dime, no less): "Hit Back Twice As Hard" Consider: this is happening now, a little more than a year before the midterm elections and three years from the Presidential election. And the precedent for tolerating voter intimidation at the polls has been set. Folks, I'll be frank. I don't have a good feeling about this.

POPSTerror from the Right: 75 Plots, Conspiracies and Racist Rampages Since Oklahoma City From the article: “. . .a detailed listing of major terrorist plots and racist rampages that have emerged from the American radical right in the years since Oklahoma City.” This is part of a report released by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which, in the past has been found to stretch the truth a bit to fit their own agenda. So take this with a grain of salt. That is not to say these attacks, etc, did not occur, I personally don’t believe that they are all the work of the radical right. I mean there are a lot of nutcases on the left too. Anyway, it serves more as a modern day history lesson on how extremist operate in this country. Thank God most of them were too stupid and inept to pull off their little rampages of hate.

POPSSave Health Care Innovation! for example, make utility or mortgage payments on time or finance the education of the family’s children. 3. The future growth in national health spending should be constrained to fall significantly below currently projected spending growth, which has the United States devoting about 40 percent of its G.D.P. to health care by midcentury. All other goals are subordinate to these three overarching goals, as are the means to reach them. All other goals? Many of us hope that one goal is to preserve the US system as the last bastion of innovation in the development of new drugs and new treatment methods. Europe, by way of contrast, has bent their cost curve, in the short run anyway, by underinvesting in that sort of thing.
