Carbon Tax- UNCONSTITUTIONAL
mountainpalm
by mountainpalm  1-1-2010
This new French carbon tax was scheduled to go into law on Jan1, 2010. The tax was steep: 17 euros per ton of carbon dioxide (USD $24.40). In a stunning move, and surely a blow to warmists everywhere, the tax has been found unconstitutional and thrown out. Originally found here (Google Translation).

Like Convergence, Aggregation Is Better In Theory
wildcat
by wildcat  12-31-2009
an interesting take, see what Louis Gray says at the end:" I have to believe that aggregation tools are interesting, and useful to a small minority of people. Lifestreaming tools are fun for individuals to highlight their activity. Sites are out there that do a good job, and more are coming, but I am thinking that "aggregation" is the new "convergence". It looks great on paper, and some people will carry a Swiss Army Knife with them everywhere, but most won't.

What Would Israel Do?
Antara
by Antara  12-31-2009    5
" Still, the advice is sound, no matter that Obama will never even consider consulting the most successful air counterterrorism that the West has managed to produce. The difference between Israel and the dilettantes of the West is that the Israelis are determined to survive. Or at least they are determined that their demise will not be due to the actions of a bunch of homicidal maniacs dressed up in doctrinal disguise. The West, meanwhile, lives to avoid offending people: a sure recipe for cultural suicide."

A Stunt Cyclist Takes the Stage

Although this is apparently one of the most watched sports videos on Youtube, I hadn't seen it until tonight when I read this article. Most of us will never be able to do the stunts and tricks this guy can do ... but hopefully he can still inspire us to try and do great things. And most importantly ... the video has over 50,000 votes and it's still rated 5 stars. He can do some pretty cool stuff with a bike. Enjoy!

In Hoc Anno Domini So the light came into the world
Jacob173
by Jacob173  12-24-2009    1
who heard strange voices or read strange manuscripts. There was enslavement of men whose tribes came not from Rome, disdain for those who did not have the familiar visage. And most of all, there was everywhere a contempt for human life. What, to the strong, was one man more or less in a crowded world? Then, of a sudden, there was a light in the world, and a man from Galilee saying, Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's and unto God the things that are God's. And the voice from Galilee, which would defy Caesar, offered a new Kingdom in which each man could walk upright and bow to none but his God. Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. And he sent this gospel of the Kingdom of Man into the uttermost ends of the earth. So the light came into the world and the men who lived in darkness were afraid, and they tried to lower a curtain so that man would still believe salvation lay with the leaders.

Have Yourself a Very Kitty Christmas!
mcsmithblack
by mcsmithblack  12-22-2009
"There sat Sebastian, happy as could be, perched on a branch deep in the tree. I’m sure he thought we had brought it home just for him." You mean you didn't?!!! More from the article below: "So when Sebastian didn’t show up right away, I knew he was up to something. I looked everywhere - under the beds, on top of shelves, in the manger. Yes, I said manger. The year before, my brother-in-law had made a beautiful ceramic manger for my husband and me. Of course Sebastian thought it was his, and proceeded to knock over camels, sheep, Mary and Joseph so that he could curl up in the straw next to baby Jesus. I think he felt slighted that no barn cats showed up in traditional nativity scenes. Point taken."

The interchanges were horrible at one point with abandoned cars and trucks everywhere.

Exclusive: Elite Special Forces in Afghanistan With Fox Embed
merrie
by merrie  12-15-2009    1
“There’s a lot of different tools in our tool kit,” the Major said, “to influence the populace and to win over their support.” They also work closely with Afghan soldiers and elite commandos. Something that has gained in importance, as well. The Major and his colleagues have done that in South America, Africa and Asia. “We’ve already done that around the world,” he told Fox News. “Coming here and working with the government is nothing new to us.” Officials say high-level, irreconcilable Taliban and Al Qaeda figures still have to be killed or captured. Which is something the Major and his men have no problem with. TO VIEW VIDEOS --- LINK TO SITE HERE: http://bit.ly/8HpiHC “Without targeting the Taliban and providing security for the populace,” he says, “we’re a lot worse off.” And there are more commandos getting into the fight. Special Forces numbers have surged to a reported 5,000 in Afghanistan, with more expected -- if they clear the

Houston Translation Workers Solve Greenhouse Gas Problem
jenpatrck
by jenpatrck  12-15-2009
Scientists in Houston believe that they have found a solution to the world’s environmental crisis. Reporting from Texas, Houston Translation workers are reporting that tiny pieces of pork have been created in a laboratory from the muscle tissue of a live pig. The finding should be good news for barbeque lovers everywhere who feared that the global temperature increases might entice lawmakers to ban outdoor pork grilling. But the environmental threat isn’t the only threat that might be eliminated. New pork producing technology might also elevate the concerns of animal rights activists who have for decades sought to put an end to the suffering inflicted on poor helpless animals by the meat industry.

There is a lovely video of Ashley, explaining her new job that she is performing, but it kind of makes me want to throw up. Reminds me of Democrats who want to feel your pain, drop their trousers, grope your daughters and drive their dates off of bridges. But you can view it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMqvaCbqXqU
