More on the Whackjob Science Czar the MSM Ignores
merrie

President Obama’s top science adviser, John P. Holdren, advocated the “de-development” of the United States in books he published in the 1970s. In the vision expressed by Holdren and his co-authors, the Ehrlichs, the need for “de-development” of the United States demanded a redistribtuion of wealth. “The need for de-development presents our economists with a major challenge,” they wrote. “They must design a stable, low-consumption economy in which there is a much more equitable distribution of wealth than in the present one. Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential, if a decent life is to be provided to every human being.” Holdren, who is director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, made these comments in the 1973 book “Human Ecology,” which he co-authored with the Ehrlichs, long-time advocates of curtailing population growth. And Terry Jeffrey reported: President Obama’s top science adviser said in a book . .

balthazarus

"Like other critics, he has no doubt that evolution shaped the human brain. How could it be otherwise, when evolution has shaped every other human organ? But evo psych's claims that human behavior is constrained by mental modules that calcified in the Stone Age make sense "only if the environmental challenges remain static enough to sculpt an instinct over evolutionary time," Pigliucci points out. If the environment, including the social environment, is instead dynamic rather than static—which all evidence suggests—then the only kind of mind that makes humans evolutionarily fit is one that is flexible and responsive, able to figure out a way to make trade-offs, survive, thrive and reproduce in whatever social and physical environment it finds itself in"

Recent interesting research shows that life on earth may have distinct suicidal inclinations. Human destruction of the environment is but the most recent episode. If true it has interesting implication on forming of exobiological theories, and the evolution of civilizations outside our precious planet.

At some point the North American ice sheets would have interrupted this migration route – creating these two genetically distinct groups of animals." The British and European lions would have lived in a similar environment to that found in Siberia today and hunted mammoth and giant deer until they all became extinct 13,000 years ago.

The Navy hasn't done a very good job of cleaning up the other toxic superfund sites they have left behind, and now they want more? http://www.theislandofalameda.com/2009/03/cleanup-crews-find-surprises-at-point/ http://yosemite.epa.gov/r9/sfund/r9sfdocw.nsf/ViewByEPAID/CA2890012584?OpenDocument Estimated Number of Potentially Contaminated Sites: Department of Defense = 21,400, Department of the Interior= 26,000 , Department of Energy also has at least 10,000 sites with hazardous and radioactive wastes. Guess who foots the bill to clean up? Doesn't tally the amount of lives that have been affected/lost by exposure. http://www.epa.gov/fedfac/docum ents/puzzle.htm

Poverty Is The Answer - Environmentalism
ColoradoRight
by ColoradoRight  3-27-2009
But you can bet that he and his co-believers would strive mightily to stifle development in now destitute areas of the world--dooming perhaps billions of people to lives of continued squalor, disease, and lower life expectancies. More to the point of what we discuss here at SHS, human beings are a logical species: We take our ideas where they lead! (Thus, once Americans accepted the verity of Jefferson's "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal..."it doomed slavery, because servitude and equality are incompatible.) For the same reason, once we accept the fundamental premise of the piece--that we must sacrifice human prosperity to "save the planet"--the misanthropic ideology of Deep Ecology--humans as a viral infection afflicting Gaia--with radical depopulation as the cure--consider the genocidal implications--become a logical next step
