SEIU allegedly threatened to "Kill" company
billpar
by billpar  10-1-2009
Imagine a union threatening to come “kill” your company because it didn’t want you to have the choice to choose a secret ballot. No wonder they’re spending so much time and money trying to pass the Employee Free Choice Act, which would effectively eliminate secret ballots altogether. Mr. Southwell’s suit against SEIU continues.

Key Boeing factory goes non-union

"....(along with the vastly diminished UAW ranks) has got to scare the labor bosses. They will retaliate, I am certain. And they will use their political clout to do so." Are businesses now going to join us regular people in the efforts to take back our Country? I know that once-upon-a-time unions were a God-send to the working, blue-collar class. However, like most all good things, over time they are distorted, become arrogant & greedy and end up hurting those for whom they were first created.

And You Thought This Was All About Health Care… by Doug O'Brien

and to begin to collect on its political debt. Hot on the heels of the inauguration labor sought to cash its first big check and push the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) through Congress to eliminate the secret ballot for union organizing elections and allow strong arm tactics to “recruit” new members by putting a card in front of them and politely asking them to sign it. Poll numbers consistently showed strong opposition among the public to this idea and the administration quickly realized they couldn’t cover this check. But there are always new ways to achieve your objectives when the President is your loyal supplicant. The Service Employees International Union provided an estimated $160 million to the Obama campaign and related political advocacy groups and put thousands of its paid organizers on the streets to stump for Democrats. SEIU’s top recruiting priority is unionizing hundreds of thousands of health care workers across the nation. What better way to get .

Wall Street Journal Concedes that the EFCA Keeps Secret Ballot Option

It 's hard to get some people to tell the truth, especially when telling the truth concedes the point to the little guy. But now you have it: if the Employee Free Choice Act is passed, employees will maintain the option of voting for or against joining a union by secret ballot.

‘Fair and balanced’ Fox News has unbalanced fair news reporting again. Seems there may be a job opening for someone to screen out the BS that Fox News passes on as facts.

Congress Will Attempt An Unprecedented Power Grab
merrie
by merrie  3-4-2009
In a closed-door meeting Tuesday, President Obama told over 100 top union officials that "we will pass the Employee Free Choice Act." It's now clear that President Obama, Big Labor, and their left-wing allies in Congress, will attempt an unprecedented power grab! Simply put, EFCA is a threat to workers’ rights. This campaign is not anti-union; in fact, we believe that workers have the right to organize, but they must they must be able to vote in secret. Our polling shows that the American people are firmly on the side of supporting a worker’s right to a secret ballot election. In fact, the tri-partisan agreement to defend this right is overwhelming, as 77% of Republicans, 82% of Democrats, and 79% of independents believe in protecting private ballots. Support for private ballots is so broad it also spanned union households and every subgroup examined, including majorities of every age, race, geographic group and both genders.

The Tyranny Of Words ~ Thomas Sowell

by merrie  3-3-2009
Republicans have always had more people who would make good presidents than people who would make good presidential candidates. So long as we have a democracy, that distinction is crucial. They say talk is cheap. But in fact it can be devastatingly expensive. Among the generation of Germans who were enthralled by Hitler's eloquence, millions paid with their lives and their children's lives for empowering this demagogue to lead them to ruin and infamy.
