POPS30 GOP Senators Vote to Defend Gang Rape
Cornyn (R-TX) Crapo (R-ID) DeMint (R-SC) Ensign (R-NV) Enzi (R-WY) Graham (R-SC) Gregg (R-NH) Inhofe (R-OK) Isakson (R-GA) Johanns (R-NE) Kyl (R-AZ) McCain (R-AZ) McConnell (R-KY) Risch (R-ID) Roberts (R-KS) Sessions (R-AL) Shelby (R-AL) Thune (R-SD) Vitter (R-LA) Wicker (R-MS) In the debate, Senator Sessions maintained that Franken's amendment overreached into the private sector and suggested that it violated the due process clause of the Constitution. To which, Senator Franken fired back quoting the Constitution. "Article 1 Section 8 of our Constitution gives Congress the right to spend money for the welfare of our citizens. Because of this, Chief Justice Rehnquist wrote, 'Congress may attach conditions on the receipt of federal funds and has repeatedly employed that power to further broad policy objectives,'" Franken said. "That is why Congress could pass laws cutting off highway funds to states that didn't raise their drinking age to 21. That's why this who

POPSPolanski's victim looked her age A lot of the people trying to excuse Polanski's acts seem to be focusing on "but she looked older than 13!" – as if it would have been perfectly acceptable to drug and rape somebody older than 13, and the only problem was her age. Suppose you set aside the fact that he drugged her and raped her orally, vaginally, and anally while she cried and repeatedly said "No!" Suppose none of that applied. The age of consent in California is and was 18 (and has been since 1913). Samantha Geimer looked like a young adolescent, not like an adult. I get carded when I buy alcohol, and I'm 39 years old. I don't mind, because I understand that protecting kids – by keeping them from drinking, in this case – is important. But somehow it's reasonable to get all handwavy and "well, she looks older!" if it's about sex? I don't think so.

POPSBritain's longest-lasting marriage ends after 81 years Rest in peace, Mr. Milford. And much sympathy to Mrs. Milford. More: They married on May 26, 1928 at Torpoint Register Office in Cornwall - the year the first £1 note came into circulation and Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin. After the ceremony, they saw a Charlie Chaplin film at the cinema. They survived two German bombs in the Blitz in Plymouth during the Second World War - one of them fell on their house.

POPSDoes Hogwarts have a drinking problem? Seriously, as the books and characters get older, so should the reader. The last 2 books are about betrayal and murder. Why would it be ok to let your 10 year old see that movie or read those books? When you're a parent, it's your job to supervise your children. Just do it folks. Don't make me come to your homes and open up a can of whoop-ass! :)

POPSWhat is a Man? A man has had liquor enough in his life that he can order a drink without sounding breathless, clueless, or obtuse. When he doesn't want to think, he orders bourbon or something on tap. A man welcomes the coming of age. It frees him. It allows him to assume the upper hand and teaches him when to step aside. He does not rely on rationalizations or explanations. A man gets the door. Without thinking. He stops traffic when he must. A man knows how to lose an afternoon. Drinking, playing Grand Theft Auto, driving aimlessly, shooting pool. He knows how to lose a month, also. He understands the basic mechanics of the planet. Or he can close one eye, look up at the sun, and tell you what time of day it is. Or where north is. He can tell you where you might find something to eat or where the fish run. He understands electricity or the internal-combustion engine, the mechanics of flight. A man is comfortable being alone. Loves being alone, actually. He sleeps.

POPSI'm Too Drunk Well, I don't see entrapment here either. The fact that the boy was on private property when he chose to pass out (sleep it off) is his unfortunate choice. I wasn't there so I don't know how it all went down with the cops and all, but when he was arrested I sure do wonder why his age didn't come up. Good Lawyers are nice to have, I reckon.

POPS2006 JAMA study: Disease and Disadvantage in the United States and UK This conclusion is generally robust to control for a standard set of behavioral risk factors, including smoking, overweight, obesity, and alcohol drinking, which explain very little of these health differences... These differences between countries or across SES groups within each country are not due to biases in self-reported disease because biological markers of disease exhibit exactly the same patterns. In many diseases, the top of the SES distribution is less healthy in the United States as well. I clipped this study two years ago but it went private with the character cap. I thought it was relevant given the recent discussion of Health care on clipmarks.

POPS8. health benefits of writing lots of love There has been some speculation in modern times that the name of Valentine was originally "Galantine," signifying "gallant," which is a word with obvious associations to courtship. The shift in consonant to "V" is explained by the way Medieval French peasants prounounced the letter "G."
