So even though ConocoPhillips is aiding and abetting the NRDC to achieve the Green dream of absolute government control over the U.S. energy supply, the enviros are still in take-no-prisoners mode, refusing to allow the expansion of a single refinery. Imagine what the rest of us can expect from the Greens. Green groups are working through the state attorney general’s office to block the $800 million upgrade of the Chevron refinery in the city of Richmond, Ca. California attorney general, climate crusader Jerry Brown claims that the upgrade will produce an additional 900,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year. But Chevron says that the upgrade will actually reduce GHG emissions by 220,000 tons. It’s hard to know whose figure is closer to the truth, but it’s worth noting that false statements made by Chevron are prosecutable under the federal and California state law, while Jerry Brown and the activists can say pretty much whatever they want without legal accountability

POPSSpam on Clipmarks These days I just follow clippers who find me, but for kicks i decided to browse the general clip casts. Disapointingly it was inundated with totaly useless de fact advertising for www.playgames.net. Which appears to have sequentially registered a bunch of dummy names. Not that I'm in favor of censoring content, but is there a way to keep clipmarks non-commercial? It seems like these accounts were set up only to spam us, not to participate in the community or clip the best of the net. What can we do about these kind of virulent users?

Teens are at high risk for infection with HIV, even though they account for only a small percentage of reported AIDS cases. Over the last few years the annual number of new HIV infections has risen among youth. Furthermore, because of HIV's long incubation period, most people who have been diagnosed with AIDS while in their twenties may have been infected with HIV when they were teenagers. Adolescents experience nearly four million of the 15 million cases of sexually transmitted infection (STI) estimated to occur annually in the United States. The stigma associated with STI often prevents people from discussing STI and from getting treatment when they are infected. Teens have high rates of STI. In fact among American females, teens normally have the highest incidence of reported STI. Among males, teens have STI rates second only to males ages 20 to 24.

POPSMeet The Press...a love affair to remember! What is so aggravating about the constant noise about the "Liberal Press", is that this administration has gotten its way with the press and it certainly has not been a "liberal" love affair. The press and media should have been doing its job instead of pandering to this administration. If it has done its job (ie Watergate), then we might not right now be trying to figure out how the hell to get out of Iraq, and stop the maiming and killing of our sons and daughters ,not to mention all the Iraqi civilians...and their sons and daughters. This mess has been a "pipe dream" of a few old neo-conservative men who basically wanted to relive Vietnam, and force a different outcome. Google Neoconservative, Google PNAC (Project For The New American Century} , and then think about whether or not this war was a war of choice and the same old story about old men, and war.
