That's when things went downhill, especially for Kim and Rob Kardashian... on Boxing Beat-Down: "It Was Absolutely Insane!"

POPSThe Poor are not Only With Us: They Are "Us". Wonder where the wealthiest 5% got their money from? Why, they got it from you and me. And furthermore, they plan to keep it. While their income grows, their numbers do not. That's because they have no desire to share that little pink cloud they're on. For the rest of us, it's a downhill race and there is always more room on the Poverty Train. All hail Capitalism! See you at the bottom!

POPSCongress Objects to CIA Lies But Not Torture and Murder? So what do you call a country if not a "tyranny" when its top officials dispatch their henchmen around the world to murder their enemies? That’s how the Soviet Union’s Joe Stalin worked. "No man, no problem." Stalin was no believer in respecting the sovereignty of other countries or bothering with their courts. Just go in and kill the guy. Apparently, Cheney worked the same way. And like Stalin, he authorized torture. This totalitarian streak runs deep both in the White House and CIA. The U.S. had been involved in the assassination or attempted assassination of 37 world leaders and more than 50 U.S. foreign interventions, mostly by the CIA, ranging from blackmail to armed overthrow. Blum also cites evidence of CIA meddling in 30 foreign elections. The crimes of our presidents and the CIA today represent everything America’s Founders despised.

POPSrecipe: home-made It's-Its Meet any Bay Area native, and they'll go glassy-eyed talking about their favorite childhood treat, the It's-It ice cream sandwich. (Those of us from other states don't quite get the hype, but we'll play along.) Yes, well, this Bay Area kid thinks the reason you don't get it is that the quality has gone downhill over the past few decades. (The chocolate coating didn't used to be "waxy", for one thing. Harrumph.) So if your only experience with It's-Its is since, say, 2000, it will of course be somewhat disappointing.

POPSMy Country, 'Tisn't Free Now everyone can see The unregulated thievery That Bush did bring. Bankers were livin' big, AIG actin' like a pig, CEO was a real good gig That brought the bling. But now a page we've turned, Knowing that we've been burned By Wall Street crooks, We're for transparency And no more leniency For all that miscreancy That cooked the books. Can Obama save our butts From all the right-wing nuts Who sank our boat? Will stimulus billions make? The bankers cease the rake That plopped the cherry on their cake Which caused the bloat? It remains yet to be seen If we'll still have the means To pay the bill. Can we still school our kids And contract out no-bids? Or are we on the skids That lead downhill?
