POPSU.S. stock futures bounce after Monday's plunge Things will correct themselves. Sure there will be some big companies that cease to exist, but they deserve that. New companies will begin and growth will occur again. All the bailout is doing is protecting those that screwed things up, protecting the income of those in high places with friends in high places.

POPSBuy stocks on bad employment report?? Interesting. I hope this guy is right. He's saying that the market's interpretation of the employment report was wrong. I would assume that regardless of the employment report, the big spike in oil must have spooked the market today.

POPSRisks Outweigh Rewards In Volatile Market Meanwhile, my research suggests that the Federal Reserve will lower short-term interest rates for the last time this year at its March 18 meeting. In addition, I expect foreign central banks to continue pressuring the U.S. Treasury to implement measures to curtail the dollar's descent. I therefore expect the exchange-value of the dollar to stabilize by the end of March. A stabilizing dollar would of course be a negative development for the future direction of commodity prices. In addition to dollar's impact on commodity prices, investors should not overlook the fact that the recent surge in commodities has been largely related to several one-off events: (1) Last Thursday's oil supply disruption in Ecuador (due to a damaged pipeline caused by a landslide); (2) The shutdown of gold and platinum mines in South African during late January (due to a nationwide electricity shortage).

POPSS&P 500 Surge Are markets moral? Christians historically have said yes, but now most of us seem to have accepted a free market principle with little criticism, self included. I'm rethinking that and would like to kick this around a bit. I don't think communism or socialism is the only alternative to a free market principle. I don't have a strong view on this; just want to discuss it, particularly with those who reject socialism/communism. I had to include the bit about Energizer buying Playtex...I'd rather not discuss it, but it's sort of potentially rich joke ground.
