POPSBranded: Who You Callin' A Maverick The real Mavericks have an interesting family history. Read the article to learn more. Sam Maverick’s grandson, Fontaine Maury Maverick, was a two-term congressman and a mayor of San Antonio who lost his mayoral re-election bid when conservatives labeled him a Communist. He served in the Roosevelt administration on the Smaller War Plants Corporation and is best known for another coinage. He came up with the term “gobbledygook” in frustration at the convoluted language of bureaucrats Fontaine Maury Maverick lost his bid for re-election in 1938. Notice how the Liepublicans called him a "communist." Notice how their dirty lying tricks haven't changed: Obama - terrorist, socialist, Marxist, black nationalist, and on and on ad naseum.

POPSMcCain's Desperation There are limits. For a candidate who claims that he'd rather lose a campaign than lose a war this latest McCain slime fest shows that he is the ultimate hypocrite. McCain's accusations are not even clever lies. They're just self-serving, grammar school playground lies. Are people so stupid that they'll buy this tripe?

POPSProfanity Immunity I'd LOVE to have immunity on CM but heck lemme address what I think is "kinky" about GOP "family values" instead of the dreaded F word. (and I meant fudge) I find it profane that they are busy wasting people's lives and treasure on a war for political and oil industry profit. I find it obscene they they have bankrupted the government to pay for tax breaks for the rich, corporate welfare and an insane cold war military style buildup. I find it dirty that they have ignored the Constitution. I find it immoral that they tell us what we really need are some "moral values" issues to shroud their wickedness in Godliness; to keep what they are really up to out of sight and out of mind and out of the news at all costs. I find poverty offensive. I find injustice, racism, sexism, and homophobia offensive. But most of all I find the greed of empire offensive. Oh, F U D G E . . .

POPSKremlin Unleashes "Mafia-on-Steroids" Style Chechen Thugs ........continued........ to disband the unit. The generals refused. At the time, their stubborn support for the outlaw Yamadaev Brothers seemed baffling - a quiet Chechnya was a longstanding Russian goal. But last week, it all made sense: Putin's military, which had been planning the invasion of Georgia for many months, intended to unleash the worst criminals in uniform it had on the Georgian people. Why? Two reasons: First, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin wants the Georgians to suffer - to really suffer. And Chechens are the world's subject-matter experts in atrocities. Second, this gives the Russian army itself a veil of deniability: When Putin's spokesmen insist that the Russian military isn't involved in the worst savagery in Georgia, they're technically telling the truth (if we don't count air attacks and artillery bombardments), since the Chechen thugs on their payroll are on the job.

POPSChertoff: Terrorists Are Coming This Election Season! EU Terrorists, he says he knows they are trying....but yet they never catch any trying? Right! Propaganda, stay tuned for false flag events this election season, or maybe just more fear mongering to drive the agenda. Key word: "dirty bomb", after 7 years of zero attacks and mere rhetoric. Isn't it obvious that terrorists would lay low to prevent war policy being driven again? Now who would have such a motive, really? (Whats preventing the true perps from doing it is that it cripples the economy too much, as 9/11 did).

POPSWe Almost Forgot To Pump Oil "Whooee, what a crazy story this will make when I tell my environmentally committed board of directors. If I can get them to stop planting trees long enough to hear me, that is. Ha! Not likely! Who wants to take time away from helping preserve the world around us to listen to me rattle on about petroleum profits? Certainly not anyone at BP, that's for sure! Oh, look! I'm waist-deep in cash right now! I didn't even see all this money piling up around my desk. I guess I've just been so focused on developing cost-efficient, clean-burning hydrogen cells that I wasn't even paying attention."

POPSU.S. occupation "Now those that hate the US can condemn the US for its brutal success in defending its interests and those of other free nations around the world. But to instantly brand “Occupation” a dirty word belies the truth of history. The better economic and social system always wins...."

POPSDelahunt Is Glad Addington Is Al-Qaida Target Congressman Delahunt's response was, "I'm glad they finally have a chance to see you." Mr. Delahunt now denies he meant what he said. But what he clearly said was "I'm glad they finally have a chance to see you." Al Qaeda now knows the face of one of the men who relentlessly pursues its henchmen and deals with their interrogations. Mr. Addington volunteered for public service, not a death sentence with Congressional encouragement. Delahunt is both a vile liar and a cowardly lion willing to roar down at Mr. Addington while encouraging terrorists to do his dirty work in a war he has been ineffective at stopping. Congressman Delahunt's email address is william.delahunt@mail.house.gov. Congressman Delahunt can be reached at 202-225-3111 and by fax at 202-225-5658 Or, you can ask Barack Obama yourself at (866) 675-2008 http://youtube.com/watch?v=AEDR7ghl7AU

POPSElite US Army Academy Lures Kids With Mud and Duty this sickening; Kathleen Engle, 16, from Fairfield, California, said she had looked into the Peace Corps and other options but decided on the military. “I was in fifth grade when 9/11 happened and that’s when I decided the best thing I could do for my country was this,” she said, playing a video game called “America’s Army.” “I guess it’s going to be hard to kill someone, but if that’s your job and that’s what our commander tells us we need to do, I’m going to do that in order to protect my country.” Brainwashed at 16, or sooner

POPSObama's Military Adviser - Worst Chief of Staff Ever?
I was a young LT, a wrench-turner, assigned to the 351st Strategic Missile Wing when McPeak was Chief of Staff. In addition to his most notable legacy --the infamous uniform changes that were immediately repealed when he retired-- McPeak was the man who dissolved Strategic Air Command. We were reassigned to 8th Air Force under his new Air Combat Command, and with the abolishment of SAC went many of the long standing regulations that guided the control and transport of nuclear weapons. It was only a matter of time before the Air Force suffered an embarassing nuclear incident. McPeak's name is still a dirty word in many military circles. He was a deeply unpopular Chief of Staff (October 1990 - October 1994) --though he was, by all accounts, a phenomenal fighter pilot and a real hero of the Vietnam War. The Gates purge was very new-war, very 21st century. McPeak's changes, though originally configured for the Cold War, never really had a place in any century.

POPSHard Roads Ahead Ex Governor Wise did one of the best things for our state which was to create the PROMISE scholarship program. However, he did not run again for office because he was a married man who had an affair, and obviously the voters in this state thought his personal life was more important than his accomplishments. It's a shame because our current governor is rumored to have many more skeletons in his closet, but he keeps them under the covers so to speak, and I've seen him do NOTHING for this state IMHO. Get with the program here baby, shhhhhhhhh . . . do what you want and get down and dirty when the lights are low and just carry your Bible in the meantime, it's God, Country, and the red, white, and blue.

POPSRural America - Bastions of Hate` What's up with rural Americans? They can't be this easily led or this abjectly ignorant. Or can they? Yes, racism and bigotry are alive and thriving in America.

POPSRace doesn't matter - YES WE CAN! This title says it all. This is the most exciting time politically that I have seen in my umpteen years of voting. The long infinite stretch of dirty politics or politics as usual is ending. At least we can all hope it is. I just finished another youtube project of talking heads who try to lead us down a path of gloom, a path of NOT IN OUR INTEREST. If you care to view it you can find it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL4HwogMIOU

POPSJohn McCain, Dirty Old Man? There is already some indication that John enjoys a good lobbyist on occasion: http://delawarewatch.blogspot.com/2008/03/is-john-mcintegrity-open-to-highest.html Well, I suppose, the good news is he apparently has no circulation problems.

POPSA tiny bit of justice for victims of "Dirty War" How horrible for this woman, all the other kidnapped "adoptees", and, of course, their real parents! "After being taken by the authorities, Ms Sampallo lived with her adoptive parents, suspecting nothing, until 2001, when a group formed by grandmothers of the stolen babies, tracked her down and revealed her true identity." "It is believed some 500 children were given to families sympathetic to the military government. Eighty-eight have since been tracked down and those behind this case are hoping the publicity will provoke more questions"

POPSUS Loves Peace? Practices WAR! Only! "Who has China been invading lately? Russia? Fidel? Those perfidious (and perfumed) French? Heck, even Saddam couldn't touch this record for aggression, especially once you account for the fact that the U.S. government assisted his foreign soiree into Iran (complete with the chemical weapons, of course) and likely green-lighted the one into Kuwait as well. ...AlterNet

POPSMurdering Bastards Are the US and its allies responsible for this kind of murderous and, frankly, obscene, assault? The answer is a resoundingly positive negative. The enemies of the people of Iraq are the enemies of the world at large and their disablement is the responsibility of us all.
