POPSWhat is it with liberals and sexual slurs? Problems with this article (other than the sexual slurs). The assumption that the tea party movement is a wing of the republican party when they are just as disgusted with big government republicans as they are with big government democrats. She called Scozzafava a moderate. She, like other party loyalists, assumed it would be better for republicans to win with a liberal candidate than lose with a conservative. It's time people stop voting for letters following someone's name and vote for the candidate closest to their own beliefs. It isn't a two party system when both parties are on the same side. The fact that Scozzafava endorsed the democrat was proof that conservatives were right and she was the wrong person for the job. Scozzafava winning would have been just as big a loss for conservatives as Owens winning.

POPSUS Marines facing reality
They ought to read this blog, they and their inept and idiotic political masters. I had a US former Marine Sgt work for me in Namibia. He could not understand that his two year enlistment did nowhere equate to that of a 15 year regular soldier. Very few of the lessons in soldiering can be gained from the library of military literature. They are gained in the field, from those who have experienced all that service has to offer. The British made an enormous mistake when, after the Falklands, the major slice of experienced senior nco's were forcibly retired. That single instrument allowed second class senior officers to kowtow to their political masters, with disastrous procurement of everything essential from personal weapons to food, through footwear to transport. When General Jackson and his cronies were feathering their pension pots, the skills and loyalty of the squaddie were evaporating on a maelstrom of political correctness and Health & Safety. I heard not a beep out of th

POPS 125 years of Roller Coasters A hundred and tewnty-five years after the first U.S. roller coaster, the coaster arms race is still testing the extremes of height and speed—:and increasingly the limits of the human body. One of today's big guns, Top Thrill Dragster, may not offer much in the way of classical winding twists and turns, but delivers the high octane thrills of its namesake. The coaster towers 42 stories above terra firma at the Cedar Point in Ohio and takes riders from 0 to 120 miles an hour (190 kilometers an hour) in a breathtaking four seconds.

POPSFood of the Week: Summer Squash Wash summer squash under cool running water and then cut off both ends. You can then proceed to cut it into the desired size and shape for the particular recipe. A Few Quick Serving Ideas: Sprinkle grated zucchini or other summer squash on top of salads and sandwiches. Enjoy an easy to make ratatouille by healthy sautéing summer squash, onions, bell peppers, eggplant and tomatoes and then simmering the mixture in tomato sauce. Season to taste. Serve raw summer squash with your favorite dips. Add zucchini or other summer squash to your favorite muffin or bread recipe; decrease the amount of liquid in the recipe by about one-third to compensate for the moisture present in the squash.

POPSAre Ancient Chinese Characters Lost in Computers (?!!) Wang's father, a professor, passed the love of characters on to him. But Wang grew up under Mao, when workers were glorified and scholars were considered bourgeois - so Wang spent his life as a repairman. Now, he's back to his first love. He gives free calligraphy lessons to any passer-by who's interested. Wang: "These people who always use computers, their handwriting is sloppy, and they even forget which strokes go where." Liu: "Computers can also help us understand our culture. For instance, we can read traditional Chinese literature online, and get whatever information we want about Chinese history. I don't think handwriting Chinese characters is the only way to value our culture."

POPSAngstrom Chromium in Liquid Form When I eat sugar, chocolate or candy,it makes me tired and then my ears start to ring. Why is that so? First the chromium is depleted and goes out with the urine. Then with out enough chromium, my bood sugar dips and I get real tired. Then when I am over tired, my ears start to ring. Using Angstrom chromium can usually stop my ears from ringing in about 20 minutes. Some of the other minerals that help in blood sugar regulation are Vanadium, Chromium and Zinc. All three are available individulally or in a Blend by Angstrom Minerals called VCZ. Taking enough chromium may also help to reduce the craving for those sweets. A little will power might play an important roll there too. Minerals and health foods can only work as well as you let them by exercising self control. There are no magic bullets to solve health problems.
