POPSHealth Care Takeover Roll Call Vote — and What GOP Rep. Joseph Cao Got from Obama
Well, since he was elected, Cao has backed the S-CHIP expansion, the $108 billion IMF bailout, and the omni-waste spending bill. And he voted to rebuke GOP Rep. Joe Wilson for calling out President Obama on his health care lies. That is a steep price to pay for Rep. William Jefferson’s removal. Can’t the GOP do better? For what it is worth, here is the cheap price the Democrats paid for Cao’s vote: Louisiana Congressman Anh “Joseph” Cao on Sunday morning released a statement after he voted as the only Republican in favor of the Democratic health care reform bill. The health care reform bill, dubbed the “Affordable Health Care for America Act” (H.R. 3962), passed the U.S. House of Representatives in a 220 " 215 vote. “Tonight, I voted to keep taxpayer dollars from funding abortion and to deliver access to affordable health care to the people of Louisiana,” Cao said in a statement released by his office. “I read the versions of the House

POPSHope, Change, Peace, Universal Health Care…Oh…and Alien Invasion ABC "V" TV SERIES PILOT PROMO TRAILER http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQoSCEMzJYE Kenneth Johnson, who wrote and directed the 1983 miniseries (it spawned a sequel and then a regular network series over the next two years), took his inspiration from a 1935 Sinclair Lewis novel called It Can’t Happen Here that depicted an imaginary fascist takeover of the United States. The aliens in the original V were patterned after Nazis, and, just in case anyone missed the point, an elderly Jewish character who was a Holocaust survivor periodically hammered on the similarities. But ABC’s series takes aim not at a German dictator from the misty past but a sitting " and popular " U.S. president.

POPSRepubliucan Health Bill “As Leader Boehner has made clear, our proposal will focus on the No. 1 concern of the American people—reducing health care costs, and we do it at a price tag our nation can afford,” said spokeswoman Antonia Ferrier. “Our proposal will help struggling middle-class families and small businesses by increasing access to affordable, high-quality health care,” Ferrier said. It also includes a ban on any “federal funding for abortions except in cases of rape, incest or threat to the life of the mother.” Of course, in true Dem fashion, they responded to the Republican bill with this profound and poignant comment: It’s “insubstantial.” and…

POPSAnother Republican says health care reform will destroy America. Rep. Broun, that is. Right -- if a liberal like Grayson calls out Republicans (who have no health care plan), they get their freak on. But I guess they have already been immunized to conservative insanity. Oh, and we have Rep. Gohmert saying this: Dems Would Allow Seniors To "Die Off More Quickly" This is standard conservative behavior that never gets mentioned by the media. It only comes up when a liberal is attacked and then they spend 24-48 hours to defend themselves and are forced to use these outrageous statement made by Republicans. And of course they have no traction, because of the defensive position the media puts liberals in.

POPSCNN: Angry Republicans Hassling Democrats at Polling Stations From the website: The officer, who’s name we are with holding, specifically heard the men discussing that he was a police officer and that they now know where he lives. The officer confronted the men and they took off. He contacted the local police who responded and caught up with them and about a dozen other men a few blocks away. According to the police report, the men were known criminals and when asked why they were in the neighborhood they stated they were “campaigning for the Democratic Party.” Gangbangers Going Door to Door to ‘Get Out the Vote’ for New Jersey Dems http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2009/11/new-jersey-gangbangers-going-door-to-door-to-get-out-the-vote-for-new-jersey-dems-video/

POPSTown Hall protesters are nativists, not racists More: Just consider how utterly stupid and idiotic conservatives seem to serious Democrats when they smugly tell each other that progressives and Democrats are all really “fascists” because they support a variety of mild social-democratic polices. Within their closed ideological bubble the conservatives feel quite certain that they have achieved a deep psychological insight by recognizing that latent Adolph Hitlers lie just beneath the surface of everyone from Teddy Kennedy to Robert Redford and Jane Goodall. They actually sit around and pat themselves on the back for their penetrating aptitude at psychological analysis. This is exactly how stupid progressives and Democrats appear to culturally conservative Americans when they label as “racism” beliefs that these Americans know are in reality vastly different and more complex.

POPSHow to avoid the GOP's mistakes during the Bush years? All one has to do is act like a citizen first, not a party apparatchik or fan club devotee, which means nothing more than this: (1) If Obama takes action or makes a decision that you think is good and constructive, say so and give him credit; (2) If Obama takes action or makes a decision that you think is bad, wrong and/or destructive, say so and criticize him for it; (3) If there were things you claimed to find so horrible and wrong when Bush did them (indefinite detention, denial of habeas corpus, renditions, state secrets, endless wars, military commissions, compulsive secrecy), and Obama does them, apply the same standards. As Bob Herbert put it rather simply: "Policies that were wrong under George W. Bush are no less wrong because Barack Obama is in the White House."

POPSHouse Ethics panel expands Rangel probe Interesting how the article tries to make it about party affiliation....Dems vs. Repubs. In fact it's about fraud, tax evasion, and deceit. Nail this guy. If he had an R after his name he'd already be gone. If a Ways & Means Chairman is above the law then all of us should cheat.

POPSObamacare 'Wrap-Up' Guts Conservatives Amendments
The wrap-up amendment expands powers granted to a brand new Medicare Commission endowing these bureaucrats with the ability to raise premiums on Medicare prescription drug coverage at will. Democrats had worked out a deal with hospitals in secret negotiations over the summer to exempt them from the extensive plans for cuts in Medicare rates. This “carve out” would exempt hospitals from these reductions but the CBO estimated the provision would add $11 billion to the overall cost of the bill. No problem for Dems, just rack up another $11 billion in stealth cuts to Medicare for an offset. Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) offered an amendment that was agreed to in the committee markup without objection to shield veterans from increases in the cost of their medical care and reductions in access to treatment. In the wrap-up amendment, Democrats voted to gut the veteran protections, without the customary consultation to the amendment’s author, reducing the amendment to mere . . .
