POPSNot a comeback The Republicans are just as pathetic today, as they were a week ago. Americans are just saying that they're disgusted with both parties, and local issues mean more to them than party affiliations. But I suppose if the GOP don't have their delusions, they've got nothing whatsoever.

POPSJust a couple of words that speack on their own I've been responsible for hiring and overseeing the development of people in my corporate days and must confess that I've never seen any of these comments, but apparently, they have been taken from actual employee appraisals. Enjoy!

POPSChildren Who Suffered Bullying Are More Likely To Develop Psychotic Symptoms In Early Adolescence
A study including 6,437 early adolescents with an average age of 12.9 was carried out by Andrea Schreier, Ph.D., and his colleagues of The Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick, Coventry, England. The children participated in the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC). Questionnaires were regularly sent by mail to parents concerning their child's physical condition and progress since birth. Beginning at the age of seven, the children were submitted to physical and psychological evaluations on a yearly basis. During the yearly visits, they were rated by skilled interviewers on whether during the preceding six months they had experienced hallucinations, delusions, thought disorders or any other psychotic symptoms. Peer victimization is defined as harmful actions and unfair treatment by one or several other students with purpose to harm. Children, parents and teachers were required to account on whether the child had suffered such oppression.

POPSIsrael FM: "Peace a Delusion." Israel has no intention of freezing the expansion of it's settlements into Palestinian territory and no intention of dividing or "sharing," Jerusalem. It never has. That should be clear by now and in this clip it's repeated.

POPS10 Reasons to Meet Your Shadow Self Carl Jung, the famous Swiss Psychoanalyst, introduced the concept of the "shadow" side of our personalities. This darker aspect of our selves are the parts we do not like and reject, hide or deny. Others can often see them but we either cannot or choose not to. When we do this, according to Jung, we become imbalanced and suffer. To quote wikipedia: "Jung emphasized the importance of balance and harmony. He cautioned that modern people rely too heavily on science and logic and would benefit from integrating spirituality and appreciation of unconscious realms. He considered the process of individuation necessary for a person to become whole. This is a psychological process of integrating the conscious with the unconscious while still maintaining conscious autonomy. Individuation was the central concept of analytical psychology. " Read the 10 reasons to meet your shadow self, from the blog "GoodBlogging", and find your balance in life and relationships:

POPSSense of identity What researchers are finding is that there is no single “identity spot” in the brain. Instead, the brain uses several different neural regions, working closely together, to sustain and update the identities of self and others. Learning what makes identity, researchers say, will help doctors understand how some people preserve their identities in the face of creeping dementia, and how others are sometimes able to reconstitute one.

POPSThe Delusions of Eric Allie 1) It's already been confirmed that the CIA lied about briefing Pelosi and other Congressmen about waterboarding, so this is a strawman. 2) Companies putting profits ahead of the wellbeing of Americans IS villainous and monsterous, not to mention utterly lacking in morals. Once again, the Right-Wing Propaganda Machine tries to change the issue (unsuccessfully) rather than face the reality of the evil they are supporting.

POPSState of Delusion Birther Certificate Something to award those lunatic Birthers that nag you with their unjustified delusions about Obama not being a natural-born American. If you really want to twist the knife, tell them that John McCain WASN'T born in the US (Born in Panama), so he was never a valid presidential candidate in the first place, going by the issue they're tripping out about.

POPSAre the Iranian Election Protests Another US Orchestrated ‘Color Revolution’? "Neoconservative Kenneth Timmerman wrote the day before the election that “there’s talk of a ‘green revolution’ in Tehran.” How would Timmerman know that unless it was an orchestrated plan? Why would there be a ‘green revolution’ prepared prior to the vote, especially if Mousavi and his supporters were as confident of victory as they claim? This looks like definite evidence that the US is involved in the election protests." So quickly Americans forget how the US was involved with the 1953 Iranian "coup d´état" that deposed the democratically-elected government of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammed Mosaddeqh. it wouldn't surprise me one little bit if the CIA is behind it all. The plot thickens...

POPSDelusions about Private Healthcare The US Private healthcare system is not alive and well, unless you're an investorin or an executive of Big Health Insurance. Nearly half of Americans have no coverage, and thousands of people are dying unnecessarily every day due to lack of necessary healthcare. People are slipping out of emergency rooms because they don't have the money to pay for their emergency treatment. Health Bills are the #1 reason for personal bankruptcy in the US. Those are all signs of an unhealthy healthcare system. Medical care is a necessity and a right. It should be a public service, not something that people are getting rich on. The American Healthcare System is a crime against humanity. Time to kill the beast, and start anew with a system that thinks about the patient first and foremost, and about profits not at all.

POPSThe epidemiology of overweight and obesity: public health crisis or moral panic? Yet despite all of the moral connotations ascribed to weight gain, we have little idea exactly why people weigh somewhat more now than they did a generation ago…. So what if the so-called ‘obesity epidemic’ is largely an illusion? What if higher than average weight turns out to have neither much medical nor moral significance? The answer to these questions, all of which we believe are strongly suggested by the epidemiological literature, go far beyond the issues of body mass and health. The current scientific evidence should prompt health professionals and policy makers to consider whether it makes sense to treat body weight as a barometer of public health. It should also make us pause to consider how propagating the idea of an ‘obesity epidemic’ furthers the political and economic interests of certain groups, while doing immense damage to those whom it blames and stigmatizes.
