Only when you get to Obama’s page do you learn that Obama a) wasn’t president, and b) didn’t make any speech at the site of the Wall last year when he campaigned for the U.S. presidency in Europe. In remembrance on the 8th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on Washington and New York, our president …. sent Joe Biden to Ground Zero in New York City. Deliberate ignorance: The British press was out front (HT Hot Air) in telling the world that the perpetrator of the Fort Hood attack “worshiped at a mosque led by a radical imam said to be a ’spiritual adviser’ to three of the hijackers who attacked America on Sept 11, 2001.” That the attack was jihad-inspired is not open to real dispute. Meanwhile, the PC-addled American press does all it can to minimize the enormity (HT Mark Finkelstein at NewsBusters) of what occurred at Fort Hood and makes excuses for the perpetrator, even to the point of claiming that he might (even though he never experienced

Ft. Hood Shooter’s Computer Reveals al Qaeda Connection

...who requested anonymity as he is not authorized to speak publicly. “The motive behind the massacre appears to be rooted in his ideology, an ideology which was emboldened by online activity,” added this source. As indicated by a ABC News Online article, intelligence sources reportedly had a level of knowledge that HASAN was in communication with al Qaeda assets abroad. The source speaking to this author confirmed that report but went further, stating that this and information similar but not directly related to such communications became a “political issue” between government agencies and officials “at the policy making levels” of the administration. According to this source, the now infamous pre-9/11 walls erected within government agencies have returned, “but this time they are higher and stronger.” “There is an unwillingness to address ‘delicate’ intelligence and security matters by sharing information outside of the beltway and that directive comes right from the top.

King And Nonviolence
debbyski
by debbyski  11-8-2009    4
Yes it's true that September 11th changed a lot of things and reminded us how vulnerable we are. It made us realize we face a dangerous and diabolically clever enemy. It strengthened our resolve and triggered important steps to prevent future attacks, actions that made us more secure as a nation. But 9/11 did not and could not change the basic ground rules: War or incitement to violence is justified only when it's in response to a deliberate attack and only when it's undertaken as a last resort. And even during wartime, nations must observe the highest moral standards. It's so easy to incite violence. And it's so wrong.

Even more lies, damned lies and stimulus jobs
billpar
by billpar  11-6-2009
So we've now seen reports of goosing stimulus job stats in Georgia, Illinois, Wisconsin, California, New Hampshire, Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, Virginia and Texas. (Ed Morrissey at Hot Air has more thoughts on the California story, as well as a round-up of some of the other state reports on stimulus chicanery.) At first the White House was owning up to "persisting errors" in the stimulus jobs data -- but when all the supposed errors seem to create the illusion of more jobs and are widespread from coast to coast, it sure looks like a deliberate ruse to hide the stimulus' clear failings. The White House needs to explain how this is happening before it turns into a full-fledged scandal.

Republicans Hit Poll Bottom, again
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  10-20-2009    13
The withering slide in support for Republicans continues, now down to 19-20% in this latest poll. (Only our corrosive and toxic media might make it seem otherwise). The party deserves to be driven into extinction, due to misleading nations into a false war based on deliberate lies, endorsing the use of torture, violating civil and Constitutional rights, and for being nothing more than a Smear Machine trying to win votes based on fear and hate. The new president (despite the ceaseless rabble and rabid critics) continues to also live up to his campaign promises and has set the nation back on the right track in many important ways. The "Dark Side," is losing; as it should. GOP elephants going extinct. 80% of the nation turned off to their drivel.

Urge World Leaders: Vote No to Biased Goldstone Report

by merrie  10-16-2009    2
I'm here at the emergency session of the U.N. Human Rights Council, facing a draft resolution by the Arab and Islamic blocs that seeks to endorse the biased Goldstone Report"a 500-page document that falsely accuses Israel of “deliberate attacks” against civilians during its defensive war against Hamas rocket attacks last January. (For details, see www.unwatch.org/goldstone.) Adoption of this dangerous text will trigger proceedings toward the indictment and prosecution of Israeli leaders and officers in the International Criminal Court. What’s at stake is the very survival of democratic societies under the assault of terrorists"enemies of human rights who cynically invoke its protective cover. The debate began yesterday and reaches its climax today. UN Watch will be there to address the assembled delegates. Representing us will be none other than Col. Richard Kemp, former commander of the British forces in Afghanistan,

U.N. to consider Israeli War Crimes Report
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  10-8-2009
This clip is background to this U.N. decision, announce hours ago. There is also mentioned Hamas did a war crime, alleged to aim rockets in civilian areas. Over a thousand Palestinian civilians were killed in the last Gaza Strip invasion; 3 Israeli civilians killed. Note: the U.S. kills dozens of civilians every week. They just say: "We didn't mean it." The real issues are policies of genocide in the deliberate destruction of Palestinian water supplies and infrastructure, sewage plants, electrical supplis, destruction of industries and farmland, livestock, prohibition on fishing, travel, emprisoned in the Strip, blockade of needed goods including supplies for rebuilding, etc. -- policies designed to totally destroy and/or remove a population based on race.

The population can also be a source of strength and intelligence and provide resistance to the insurgency. Alternatively, they can often change sides and provide tacit or real support to the insurgents. Communities make deliberate choices to resist, support or allow insurgent influence. The reasons for these choices must be better understood." The report addresses corruption and abuse of power but it does not give it the primary weightage it should. Karzai and his lot should not remain in power even a day. Abdullah would probably be worse. In the eight years since the Taliban were deposed in November 2001, "criminality has contributed to a pervasive sense of insecurity among the people. Extensive smuggling diverts major revenues from the government and increases its susceptibility to insurgent penetration. http://www.thenews.com.pk/editorial_detail.asp?id=201008

Helen's Got Questions!

"Is he going to fight for it or not?" Thomas snapped. "We're going to work to get choice and competition into health-care reform" was Gibbs's vague response. Thomas took that as a no. "You're not going to get it," she advised. "Then why do you keep asking me?" Gibbs inquired. "Because I want your conscience to bother you," Thomas replied. The room erupted; Gibbs reddened. Actually, conscience isn't the problem for Gibbs and his boss; it's spine. Thomas's question got at an Obama administration trait that is puzzling opponents and demoralizing supporters: Why isn't the president more decisive and forceful? On many of the most pressing issues -- the public option in health reform, troop levels in Afghanistan, sanctions against Iran -- the administration has hewed to hemming and hawing. On Pennsylvania Avenue outside the White House on Thursday, environmental activists were demanding to know why Obama wouldn't, as they put it,

Evidence that shows WHO developed a means to turn such vaccines into a means of killing:
The Infowarrior
by The Infowarrior  10-2-2009
This is a crucial piece of evidence of WHO's long-term genocidal intentions that could stand in any court of law because these memorandums give the best and fullest explanation WHO's and affiliated labs (such as the CDC) current activities, such as their patenting of the most lethal bird flu viruses, their sending that virus to Baxter's subsidiary in Austria, which weaponised it and sent out 72 kilos to 16 labs in four countries almost triggering a global pandemic. For every crime, there needs to be motive, an indication that it was deliberate, planned. The WHO memorandums provide the evidence of just that deliberate, long-term planning to kill people by weakening their immune system by use of the first vaccine, injecting a live virus into their body by a second, and creating a cytokine storm using squalene in a third.

"One fascinating feature of remembering is how a cue from the external world can cause us to suddenly remember something from years ago. For example, returning to where you once lived or went to school may bring back memories of events experienced long ago. Sights, sounds, and smells can all trigger recall of long dormant events. These experiences point to the critical nature of retrieval in remembering." *Like my Momma baking cookies*

"Global Islamic Terrorism." --- the phrase of the New Crusades, the propaganda for long term worldwide war Sounds pretty slick. Rolls off the tongue easily. Doesn't take much thought. Creates a nice evil image of the enemy. But...Palestine is not fighting for Islam. It's fighting for it's homes. Afghanistan is not fighting for Islam. It's fighting for it's homes. Iraq is not fighitng for Islam. It's fighting to get it's country back from invaders who started the war based on deliberate fabricated lies. I hope more of us wake up to this and point it out, put it down where and when we see it: we're being sold a false bill of goods....the USA declaring worldwide wars outside the bounds of it's own Constitution, and using lies and propaganda and a one-sided view of who's right and excusing all it's own wrongs. ONE AND A HALF MILLION PEOPLE KILLED IN IRAQ! - someone said at the UN podium yesterday. And not one WMD. Who's the real terrorist? The real warmongers. T

U.N.: Evidence of Gaza War Crimes
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  9-15-2009
Other articles mention deliberate bulldozing of food sources, livestock, destruction of sewer and water plants, etc. Obviously, Israel accused the head judge, Goldstone, of bias. An anti-Semitic Jew? -- well, facts not as important in politics as much as consistent smear. I learned that Israel was preventing people in Gaza from farming and fishing. That pretty much makes it clear to me that Israel's policies = genocide, deliberately starving over a million and a half people to death, while they are imprisoned by a blockade. It was nice to see the U.N. recommend this blockade be lifted. It seems some Palestinians may have also committed war crimes, shooting rockets that may have hit civilians....there were 3 Israeli civilians killed in the latest conflict. Humm....but maybe they weren't given a chance to say they "didn't mean it." --- since U.S. (and NATO) kill dozens and dozens of civilians every week, but then they say "they didn't mean it."

9/11 Commission Members Doubt Official Story
foxyarse
by foxyarse  9-12-2009    1
Cleland, speaking with Democracy Now, said, “One of these days we will have to get the full story because the 9-11 issue is so important to America. But this White House wants to cover it up”. In 2006 the Washington Post reported that several members of the 9/11 Commission suspected deception on part of the Pentagon. As reported, “Some staff members and commissioners of the Sept. 11 panel concluded that the Pentagon’s initial story of how it reacted to the 2001 terrorist attacks may have been part of a deliberate effort to mislead the commission and the public rather than a reflection of the fog of events on that day, according to sources involved in the debate.” 9/11 Commissioner Bob Kerry also has unanswered questions. As reported by Salon, he believes that there are legitimate reasons to believe an alternative version to the official story.

Start seeing micro-inequities
Lexica
by Lexica  9-9-2009
More: A micro-inequity can be very micro. It can involve an action or words or even a tone of voice or a gesture. The inequity can be a deliberate attempt to harm someone or it can be unintentional, rooted in a person's perceptions about others. Whatever the source and however minor each separate event, over the years the cumulative effect of these little incidents, words, and gestures on an individual and on various segments of society (academia, business, even within families) is not so micro. There is a complete spectrum between the mini-incidents and the big unambiguous ones that most people would agree are sexist or racist. Clearly we need to eradicate the big unambiguous examples of discrimination, but are some (most?) people willing to accept micro-inequities because the incidents are, in many cases, so ambiguous? Where do you draw the line between deciding that someone is oversensitive vs. the target of habitual disrespect?
