There is a difference between the "exaggeration" of risk and benefit claims regarding an effective, proven, life-saving screening test (mammography) and the "exaggeration" of claims regarding an as yet unproven, probably pointless screening test with serious side effects (prostate cancer screening). Sure, both don't work as well as most public health messages claim. But one actually works! ARGH!

What is it about the culture of ACORN that makes collaboration in prostitution standard operating procedure? No wonder that 67% of voters have an unfavorable view of ACORN, according to pollster Scott Rasmussen. One wonders about the 15% who have positive views"an even lower percentage than the 17% of House members who voted against defunding ACORN.

Notice that almost no coverage is given to the other man killed in this incident. Is his life worth less than the "Sign Guys" life? It seems that the alleged killer held a grudge against 3 men in this small town. The police caught him before he was able to harm the 3rd man. For this we should be thankful to the law enforcement officers and the high school students who witnessed the 1st killing and took down the license plate number of his car. Extreme actions, on both sides, always engender extreme responses. It would do us a world of good to learn to take a breath and approach these issues with our brains instead of our clubs.

Huh HOLLYWOOD - Police Chief Chad Wagner asked for the public's patience Friday as his agency investigates four officers under suspicion of falsifying a crash report and said a crime scene technician is also being scrutinized for his role in the incident. Wagner said he asked the Broward State Attorney's Office to aid in the investigation, but Broward Chief Public Defender Howard Finkelstein continued to call for an outside agency, such as the FBI, to take over. Though the crash at the root of the controversy happened more than five months ago a patrol officer rear-ended a woman's car Wagner said he first learned of the alleged cover-up that it spawned only this week. On Tuesday, he ordered the four officers and crime scene technician suspended with pay and launched an internal investigation. I have good security, but some people actually believe that their Windows Defender and Firewall will do the job. WRONG !! The real killer about facebook is they are now using hi tech backdoor Trojan viruses and worms now. Brothers & sisters if you have enough money to buy and use a PC, you had better be protecting it. $50 a year is a lot cheaper than having to have it reconditioned or relaced, and with the hi-jacking you're gonna lose your privacy as well. I know that it seems like a hassle to have to re-enter your credit card info and other stuff (passwords etc),but I only store mine in my Norton toolbar, and no one can get in but me. More to follow

What does this say of his colleagues? Do they condone his behavior? Senator John Ensign called for Bill Clinton and Larry Craig to resign over sexual misconduct, and then cheated on his wife with a married staffer. This "defender of marriage" should have the dignity to resign now. But dignity is in short supply in politics. Therefore, it is business as usual in the nations capital. Does his affair mean we cannot trust him to speak for his constituents? If nothing else, it lessens his authority on ethics issues but we already know that any talk of ethics reform from politicians is nothing more than hot air. If you cannot live up to the vows you make to your spouse in front of God then how can you be trusted to live up to your promises to the people who put you in office? The 'ole boys club' ethics wins again.
