Green ‘Peace Party’ positions against the Iraq and Afghanistan wars compared to pro-occupation Clint

“The occupation of Iraq will continue whether a Democrat or a Republican moves into the White House in January 2009,” said Jason Wallace, Green candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 11th District <http://www.electwallace.us> and a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War <http://ivaw.org/index.php>. IVAW has announced ‘Winter Soldier’ (March 13-16), a four-day event bringing together veterans from across the country to testify about their experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan <http://ivaw.org/wintersoldier>. “The ILWU action planned for May 1 is evidence that working people are impatient with vague promises to end these wars. Will Ms. Clinton or Mr. Obama endorse the ILWU protest and pledge to call home all US military personnel immediately?” “By calling the Iraq War a matter of military preparedness and botched strategy, Democrats are sidestepping the premise of the war,” said Bob Kinsey, Green candidate for the US Senate in Colorado <http://www.kinseyforsenate.org>. “While it’s true that

Me And My Girls
debbyski
by debbyski  7-20-2008    3
"But was it really all thus? When memory is called to answer, it often answers back with deception. How is it that almost every warm bar stool contains a hero, a star of his own epic, who is the sum of his amazing stories? If I said I was a fat thug who beat up women and sold bad coke, would you like my story? What if instead I wrote that I was a recovered addict who obtained sole custody of my twin girls, got us off welfare and raised them by myself, even though I had a little touch of cancer? Now we’re talking. Both are equally true, but as a member of a self-interpreting species, one that fights to keep disharmony at a remove, I’m inclined to mention my tenderhearted attentions as a single parent before I get around to the fact that I hit their mother when we were together. We tell ourselves that we lie to protect others, but the self usually comes out looking damn good in the process. "

Culture of secrecy and deception
sahara
by sahara  7-17-2008    1
US taxpayers are required to report all foreign financial accounts if their total value exceeds $10,000 at any point during a given year, prosecutors said. Failure to report the accounts can result in a penalty of up to 50 percent of the amount in the accounts. The report states that in some instances, UBS declined to report accounts to the IRS when clients opened them in the names of offshore corporations, trusts, foundations or other entities, even if the bank knew the true beneficial owners were US taxpayers. In Liechtenstein, the report said the royal family's LGT Group contributed to a "culture of secrecy and deception" that enabled clients to "evade US taxes, dodge creditors, and ignore court orders."

About That 550 Tons Of Yellow Cake
merrie
by merrie  7-11-2008
Had the United States not invaded Iraq in 2003, that 550 metric tons of yellow cake would have remained physically within Saddam's sphere of influence. Again, perhaps that would not bother some, but in light of 9/11, it bothered many Americans, including President Bush. Yellow cake is a very dangerous substance, which can be converted to WMD with the right equipment and technology. To believe that Saddam Hussein lacked the ability or motivation to acquire and perfect the equipment for production of nuclear WMD is, in my opinion, foolhardy and naive. Those who believe that presence of IAEA inspectors assured that the yellow cake was controlled and adequately protected from diversion can explore the facts: Those who wish to explore the facts further should Goggle "IAEA effectiveness in Iraq" to glean more information, which includes, in part, the following report from the Nuclear Control Institute (http://www.nci.org/new/iraq-ib.htm):

Crystal skulls in British, US Museums Are Fakes
revenantdm
by revenantdm  7-9-2008
Indiana Jones would have probably taken as a fool by these as the British Museum Skull was bought 127 years ago and the Smithsonian was bought in 1960. If some of the best scientists, archaeologists, and anthropologists were fooled by the fakes, could have anyone ever have accidentally discovered the deception with only a cursory look? The Legend of the Crystal Skulls and their curse (or blessing - see story) have circulated for decades... nothing like true modern technology and skepticism to ruin a great myth of the paranormal!

Gone is all that nasty documentation of American soldiers imposing themselves on either innocent or opposition-sympathizing Iraqi civilians as embedded photographers were known to relay two or three years back. (In a particularly egregious example, you might even recall the raid in February '07 where the Iraqis -- who were supposed to lead the mission by barely showed up -- caused American Staff Sgt. Hector Leija to pay with his life ... further leading the military to flip out that the NYT dared even document the whole obscene mess.)

Lawyers accuse judge of lying, bungling Roman Polanski case
jklugman
by jklugman  7-6-2008
The famous film director Roman Polanski fled the US in 1977 because he was charged for statutory rape. Twenty years later, Polanski's lawyer and prosecutors made a deal that would have allowed Polanski to return to the US. Polanski refused the deal because the judge wanted the proceedings televised. Fast forward to now, when HBO releases its Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired documentary which contains this little tidbit. The judge calls the story completely fabricated. Both the defense and prosecuting attorney go on the record calling the judge a liar.

The Pentagon Flyover - How They Pulled It Off
DblSpeak
by DblSpeak  6-28-2008
In this presentation Citizen Investigation Team reveals brand new independently obtained smoking gun evidence further exposing how the true flight path of the Pentagon attack jet is irreconcilable with all official reports and data. We demonstrate how the plane flew over Washington DC skies and came from the east side of the Potomac River. We explain how the C-130 and white E4B or "mystery plane" were used as cover for the decoy jet that was meant to fool people into believing it hit the building. We expose the methodology behind the operation and demonstrate how they were able to successfully pull off this military deception in broad daylight. See www.ThePentaCon.com for more information.

Another Repentant Sinner Might Go Democratric

All repentant Republicans are welcome in the Democratic Party apparently. But in all seriousness, given McClellan's family's relationship with the Republican Party, this possible change in party affiliation is a measure of the depth of his disillusionment. This man hasn't gone through a revision of a few views. His experience savors of someone undergoing a conversion. Don't be surprised if he emerges as a liberal.

They cheered the Hummers on, as I recall and completely missed the boat on alternative energy. Where are the wind farms and the hydro-energy? What's wrong with these people? Even if we were to drill tomorrow, the oil will not flow for at least 5 years. What about the co2 output and all other environmental considerations? Here it is : More Propaganda and a lot of co2 in the hot air heads. More deception to come and the propaganda wheels are spinning!!!!!

Chimps console each other to reduce stress after fights

"When Fraser looked at who was consoling whom, he found that acts of consolation were more likely to happen between individuals with valuable relationships. Chimps tended to comfort peers who groomed them frequently, shared food with them or gave them a hand in their own conflicts. Other factors like how closely related they were had no such effects. "

Talk about dirty tricks! This guy goes up in my book for laying the blame where it belongs and not using it to further the deception. Campbell's remarks were pretty revealing though.

Powerful:Democracy Now Interview of McClellan--podcast
blueridge

Must-hear interview. The Bush administration cannot deny the claims from this insider. It is also interesting to hear the questions put to him by some good reporters in the run up to Iraq that the MSM decided not to let us hear! Hard evidence for wrong doing in the administration and he is about to testify before the Judiciary committee on the CIA leak of Plame, by Rove, Libby, and likely orchestrated by Cheney. Also how the White House Iraq Group used the NY Times as their primary propaganda conduit, including Judith Miller. Great podcast (have to listen to other news first before interview).

Israel’s Ambassador to the UK and his deception

Can anyone see just how sick these people are? I can only imagine some muthafucka with swastikas on his sleeve telling me that I'm anti-german or anti-nazi just because I tell him his ideology is evil. Well no shit Sherlock. I don't take kindly to anyone who is racist and who treats others like the scum of the earth purely because of the parents to whom they were born. That is Israel's perennial crime. Then this society of mass-murderers, swindlers & thieves want to turn around and pretend that it couldn't possibly be their deeds that people find detestible. It must be because normall good people just wake up one morning and decide to hate. I wish the Jews with conscience would stand the fuck up because what those filthy bastards who run the Israel show and their fanatical supporters are doing in the name of all Jews is THE BIGGEST crime ever perpetrated against Jews.
