POPSDid Americans get any healthier? This year my insurance company raised my deductable and my payment. There is a bigger chunk of my pay going out for less coverage. That means that even tho I have insurance I still can't go to the doc because I can't afford the copays. If I do afford the copays I can't afford the prescriptions. BTW: the co game me an annual raise... .1% of my current payrate. I got $.09 per hour. I'm stuck in a small town 25 miles in any direction from the nearest town that can support a walmart. There are 3 towns. None are big and none have decent paying jobs available. I'm stuck.

POPSShelley One of my favourite poems. Think of it every time I pass by ruins of Mughal splendour in Delhi. Nothing remains bu enamel and stones, the nest of pigeons and parrots.

POPSThe Killer Tomatoes Have Returned Tomato plants -- as well as other veggie plants -- can trap small insects in those sticky hairs, and (I'm imagining, because the story doesn't say) holds them captive until they die. Then the plant can absorb the nutrients the insects give off as the bugs decay. When the insect is just a shell, it falls to the soil. I will never underestimate my vegetables again. I think they're watching me.
