POPSMy Top Ten List #11. Gays are not full of drama, and shame on the gays that perpetuate that myth--they should know better. Here are some things about me which are NOT myths: 1. I can be friends with straight women--yay! In fact some of my best friends are straight females. 2. I am in therapy for coming out issues and to see what I want to do with the rest of my life--she's really good if anyone wants her name and number :) 3. I have a girlfriend and I love her. 4. I have more than one cat. 5. I have a dog too! 6. I grew up very, very, poor, but I have money now-- money doesn't make you happy--but it does pay the bills :) 7. My best asset is my kindness--and I guess you could say it is my worst fault too sometimes. Any other clippers wanna chip in with their best attributes or ya know worst faults? :D

POPSCretins on the March I'll never forget the first time I saw a Ray Comfort video. He was using a banana to debunk evolution! This tool for the religious right goes far beyond parody and falls more into the area of pity. Along with his cohort, Kirk Cameron, they are pulling out all the stops on the stupid express. If you're a Creationist I'd suggest you try to wrangle a free copy. Just ignore the BS that Comfort added and read the rest. Maybe you'll learn something? Such basic ignorance of simple science is wide spread in the US. I don't recall the actual statistics but a much too large portion of the US believes this Creationist/ID drivel. Very sad indeed.

POPSWomen Are Sort Of More Tentative Than Men Men were tentative when writing about make-up or other stereotypically feminine topics, especially when they thought they were writing to a woman, he found. For example, one man, believing he was corresponding with a woman, wrote: "… maybe girls prefer the quality of products at Sephora over other major department stores? I don't know." Women were tentative when writing about changing flat tires and other stereotypically masculine topics, especially when they thought they were writing to a man. For example, one woman, believing she was giving instructions to a man, wrote: "I think they start out by raising the whole car, or maybe just the one tire with a tire jack?"

POPSDear Republicans: An angry but heartfelt rant More: I'm sick of your rewriting of history. You've bleated so loud and long that Reagan was a great president, that the New Deal didn't work, that cutting taxes increases revenues, that you actually have the people believing this bullshit… I'm sick of your dragging the center ever further to the right. How many whackjob fringe ideas have you dragged into the mainstream? …you push these ideas through your corporate media and you do it so long and loud that they become part of the accepted political landscape and because it is easier to tell a lie than to debunk one, we never get away from this rancid shit… I'm sick of your casual criminality…all I've heard from my rightist friends for days is Chappaquiddick, Chappaquiddick, Chappaquiddick. Your fucking golden boy raped the Constitution…and you bastards are obsessed with a fucking accident a Democrat had decades ago? Plus much more, too long to clip.

POPSNational Geographic TV Debunks 9/11 Conspiracy Theories Calling all 9/11 Truthers: the National Geographic Channel will be airing a program on Monday evening that will debunk many of your conspiracy theories. 9/11 Truth cultists who insist that America engineered the jihadi attacks on itself? Uh-huh. Riiiiiigggggggghhhhhhhhhhht. Aptly named "9/11: Science and Conspiracy," the special aims to address some of the most common connivances espoused by truthers like Rosie O'Donnell.

POPSWho am I ? I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult, disguising myself as someone who really cared about them.. That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and I embarked on a new career. I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to those who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child. I became active in local politics in my 30's then with help behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office in my 40s. They said I had a golden tongue and could talk anyone into anything.. That reinforced my conceit. I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks. I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances. This bolstered my ego.

POPSGiving Thanks where Thanks is Due The parasites that are sucking blood money out of Americans for substandard healthcare definitely thank the naïve, gullible Town Hall Disrupter Sheep and the well-paid Right-Wing Shills for spreading outright lies about Healthcare Reform, making people think that it's something that it isn't. Those people are doing their part to ensure that more people die due to insufficient or substandard healthcare, that more people go bankrupt trying to pay when they do get hurt or sick, and that the income gap between the rich and the poor continues to grow to record levels. If you see someone spreading lies about Healthcare Reform; whether due to ignorance, or malice; correct them. Tell them the truth, and point them toward http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck/?e=10&ref=text and FactCheck.org to debunk those vicious mischaracterizations of something that will help everyone in the US (except the rich)

POPSUnemployment & Immigration Tight? Not So Much While there might be some connections in limited cases. Mexican, Nicaraguan, Honduran, or Guatemalan construction workers are not taking jobs from anyone - Wall Street took care of that - there is no construction of new homes. Immigrants are not closing down General Motors factories or supplanting US workers - those jobs went to China and then went nowhere as consumers stopped buying their cars. Read on.

POPSGrassley Feeds Fire of 'Death Panel' Claims The provision to which Sen. Grassley refers, written by a Republican Congressman, allows insurance payment for those who desire a doctor's input in writing a living will. The government is not involved in any way, the service is entirely optional, and Senator Grassley surely knows it. Shame on him for such a vile misrepresentation - trying to scare Americans into thinking someone has proposed a "government program that determines if you're going to pull the plug on grandma." I am appalled. Though I have often disagreed with him, I thought him more honorable than this.

POPSProof That Thimerosal Induces Autism-Like Neurotoxicity
The Genetic Catch-All Many have tried to debunk the autism-vaccine link, oftentimes blaming the disorder on genetic factors, but the connection refuses to go away. And for valid reasons. So far, scientists have been able to link genetic defects to a mere one percent of autism cases. Although the other 99 percent are still unaccounted for, conventional media rarely underscore this fact, focusing instead on the minority link to genetic predisposition. For example, last year the U.S. government concluded that childhood vaccines contributed to symptoms of autism in 9-year-old Hannah Poling. According to U.S. Division of Vaccine Injury Compensation, the shots "significantly aggravated an underlying mitochondrial disorder" and resulted in a brain disorder "with features of autism spectrum disorder." Again, they finally conceded that those with genetic predispositions can develop autism when injected with thimerosal. But industry is still refusing to take any respo

POPSI Smell a rat!!! - Editing of the mainstream media Fraud Over Obamas birthplace EXPOSED. I know what the original article said and thought i was going mad then I stumbled across this whilst looking for another article. Note the comparison as these are two versions of the same article. The second is the edit with it now stating it to be "the continent of his fathers birth" instead of the original sentence (see pic) of "continent of his birth." He needs to be removed from office as I do not believe he could be impeach as his claim to the presidency was never legitiment in the firtst place. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this particular point that is to follow, If he was removed it would take his corrupt administration with him wouldn't it? We need to make more noise on this subject. It does however it does raise the frightening prospect of having a psychopath like Hilary Clinton in power. You really think she just sat back and let Bill do, well anything at all really?

POPSCrazy right-wing myths about Obama 2.0
Cont.... Myth: Obama plans to resettle hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the United States. Who's spreading it: One of the original sources of the belief might have been this Feb. 7 article. New Media Journal is a news site run by a nonprofit group called BasicsProject.org, which states that its mission is to "re-introduce the American public to the basic elements of our constitutional heritage while providing non-partisan, fact-based information on relevant socio-political issues important to our country, specifically, but not limited to, the threats of aggressive Islamofascism and the American Fifth Column." The diatribe below, posted on Snopes.com, seems to have started as a post on Wizbang that picked up the claims in the New Media Journal article. It also turned up here and here. What they believe: "President Barack Obama has signed an executive order ... allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to resettle in the United States. Sure, what can go wrong when w

POPS"U.S. Shoots Down Iranian Drone"--Truth or Propaganda? Let's debunk this "news" piece before it is swallowed whole: 1. This spurious article merely states something from "u.s. military sources in Baghdad", yet it was "previously unreported", until now. 2. The article has no weight but allegation, it merely launches into quotes from Globalsecurity.org, a neoconservative propaganda front, with "facts" about Iran's UAVs from way back--i.e. fanning the flames with old data. 3. Globalsecurity.org is not reporting this! 4. The only MSM news reporting this is guess who? Yep, FOX. The rest of the MSM is not biting, yet 5. The article on Danger Room is written by Noah Shachtman, whose name suggests he might be a bit jaded 6. In apparent reaction to skepticism, his "update" says that "no one can confirm" this, so "or deny" means little 7. This likely could not have been kept secret for a whole month if true, due to its nature

POPS AlGore - Crouching Liberal - Freakin Idiot catastrophe. But the science continued to evolve, and still does, even though so many choose to ignore it when it does not fit with predetermined political agendas,” the 60 scientists concluded. In addition, an October 16, 2006 Washington Post article by reporter Christopher Lee noted that Indiana University geologist Simon Brassell found climate change occurred during the age of dinosaurs and quoted Brassell questioning the accuracy of computer climate model predictions. Global Cooling on the Horizon? In August, Khabibullo Abdusamatov, a scientist who heads the space research sector for the Russian Academy of Sciences, predicted long-term global cooling may be on the horizon due to a projected decrease in the sun’s output. POPS5 Digital Television Transition Myths
. . . (including many handheld TV devices). Myth #2: I need a new HDTV in order to watch a DTV broadcast. If you're a cable or satellite subscriber, you won't notice a thing when analog television broadcasting ceases. You can continue to use whatever television or other display device you're using now. For the folks who view free local TV via an antenna, the ability to receive and view digital broadcast television signals requires the use of a compatible digital tuner that's either built into the TV or a separate set-top box. Myth #3: The government's TV Converter Box Coupon Program has run out of money/coupons. The government's TV Converter Box Coupon Program Web site is still accepting new applications and will continue to distribute coupons until "the obligation ceiling is reached." Keep in mind that unredeemed coupons are recycled back into the program, so while it may take a longer time to process your request, now compared with a few months ago, . . .
