They were being kept at separate police stations, following fears of retribution. A 25-year-old man from Auburn, a 22-year-old man from Casula, a 21-year-old man from Pemalwuy and a 22-year-old Ingleburn man have all been refused bail and are due to face Central Local Court today. At least two more men were being sought by police. The Police Minister, Tony Kelly said it was unbelievable the brawl had occurred in front of at least 50 witnesses and at least four CCTV cameras. Mader -- world renowned for his work with exotic animals -- placed two metal rods between the animal's eyes that extended down to the bridge of his nose, and another on each side. Then, they inserted 41 metal screws into his hide, green like sea foam. This helped keep the skull and snout together. The procedure took four hours. In the best-case scenario, Mader hopes the croc will be able to open his mouth and eat again. In that scenario, the metal would be removed in four to five months, and the croc would be released in the wild. But the animal's steely resistance notwithstanding, Magill said the staff doesn't expect the croc to live long. If he does, Magill said, it will be the most remarkable thing he has seen in his 30 years at Metrozoo. Hoping for the best, the staff finally gave the animal a name: RoboCroc.
