POPSGoldman Can Spare You a Dime In particular, the tone-deaf Treasury secretary, Timothy Geithner, never ceases to amaze. His daily calendars reveal that most of his contacts with the financial sector in the first seven months of 2009 were limited to the trinity of Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and JPMorgan. And last week Bloomberg News reported that his inner circle of “counselors” " key advisers who, conveniently enough, do not require Senate confirmation " are largely drawn from the same club. It’s hard to see how any public official can challenge a culture that he is marinating in, night and day.

POPSApples and Oranges Yes, as is casting a sighted actor to play a blind character; and casting a homosexual actor to play a heterosexual character. Did that successfully highlight the absurdity of Ms. Bove's comment? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the lovely and talented Marlee Matlin's work, and would hate for her to be overlooked for a role which she would be perfect for, but I think Ms. Bove goes too far. (I singled out Ms. Matlin because she's the only deaf actor I could come up with off the top of my head.)

POPSBad Credit Wedding Loans Weddings in the UK generally last for a day or two; the after-effects however last for months and years after the wedding is over. People have a genuine demand in making the wedding day a posh affair. Since it is once in a lifetime event, all wise counsel to spend within limits goes on deaf ears. The need here is of a buffer that assures the individual that he will be bailed out; whatever is the amount of expenses made. Wedding is the biggest day of your life. You want the day to be perfect. Earlier, the parents used to bear the entire expenses of their children’s marriage. POPSOn ableist language More: If you think you should use a word because no other has the same impact, well, you’re right about the impact. Your usage has such an impact because it draws its power from disability=bad. You are forming a powerful sentence from disablism, our deep-set pain. It’s so much easier and better to just change your words. If you still insist on such usage, that’s lazy and cruel. If you’re not sure if your use of a word is offensive, err on the side of caution. Another message to take away is this. 1. If you are calling yourself progressive 2. and you are harming people with disabilities 3. you are not, in fact, progressive.

POPS"We do not want word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population"
Margaret Sanger's beliefs about social works of charity are revealing: She criticized the success-- not failure-- of charity... She called for the halt to the medical care being given to slum mothers, and decried the expense to the taxpayers of monies being spent on the deaf, blind and dependent. She condemned foreign missionaries for reducing the infant mortality rates in developing countries, and declared charity to be more evil than for the assistance it provided to the poor and needy. Sanger's thinking moved to fascism in an elitist attitude that presumes to judge who is worthy to live and to die. "Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America. 78% of their clinics are in minority communities. Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 35% of the abortions in America. Are they being targeted? Isn't that genocide? We are the only minority in America that is on the decline in population. If the current trend continues, by 2038 the black vote will be insignificant.

POPSAmy Winehouse Claims She's Got A Bug Up Her Ass "She then went on and on about the Police in Britain and DC with all these secret microphones really small but I refused when she told me to scream into her ass so it would cause the listener to go deaf." "Why don't you just cut a big fart?', I asked and she said she tried but the bug kept her cheeks too far apart. I had to turn my head and laugh." Winehouse then reportedly wanted to show Waterhouse her ass to see if the FBI had planted "a bug up her wazzo!" because it had felt odd for days. Then, according to Waterhouse, she claimed they might be related because of their last names, Winehouse and Waterhouse. Mrs. Waterhouse said she told her they could be and tried to be nice. "I couldn't help asking her about the fact that she might have been probed by aliens", laughed Waterhouse. "I'm an old fart, you know that?"

POPSGod’s Principle: How To Be Blessed Though we are highly persecuted because of our faith, the bible says that we need to release blessings and not insults. In the end, we are assured that by doing so we will inherit a blessing that comes from God.

POPSThe Subtle Life of Rocks
There is a fantastic book by a fellow called Marko Pogacnik titled, "Nature Spirits & Elemental Beings". This fellow is a harbinger of "new earth healing". He works with "geomancy" and a method he calls "lithopuncture". According to his view of working with earth healing - the earth is a multidimensional living organism. (Probably not new to many of you). Yet, so often we fail to "see, hear, feel, taste, smell" that - our heads are so full of "stuff" - we miss those subtle, beautiful, powerful connections with the earth. Our lives are filled with humans, so much so, that we fail to even "see, hear, taste, touch, smell" each other and I am not speaking just about our physical senses. We are so disconnected from our real senses that we miss so much. Animals don't do that. Plants don't do that. They are still connected to their subtle senses. They still operate from that place/space - we are just too blind, deaf, and dumb to experience it. Yet, those very senses lay dormant .

POPSGOP Must Embrace 'The Vocal Majority' A populist movement is any that champions the rights and power of the people over elites. The Left has often embraced populism when it has suited them. President Obama got elected in part by adopting a soft economic populism. He made the implausible promise to cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans. And he campaigned with populist red meat like: “Change means a tax code that doesn’t reward the lobbyists who wrote it but the American workers and small businesses who deserve it…” And the Left has often framed their fight for universal healthcare in populist terms, as a campaign for everyday Americans against elite politicians in bed with evil insurance companies.

POPSIn Other Words.... "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" If the Democrats are so 'for the people' then why are they ignoring 'the people'? Deaf, dumb and blind but in 'control'. Jackass. The perfect symbol.

POPSTaser-crazy cops becoming global epidemic Last month in Canada, a judge called for tighter control of Taser guns after controversy over a death of an airline passenger in 2007. Last Saturday, one of the most influential Hispanic organizations in the United States, the League of United Latin American Organizations, called for the end of Taser guns in police departments across the country, claiming that the blacks and Hispanics are the most common groups Tasered. And the BBC yesterday published a piece on how Taser incidents have been on the rise in the United Kingdom. Police departments insist that the taser is a good tool that keeps the officer safe, keeps the citizens safe and saves lives. Who do they think they are kidding?

POPSUC Regents demonstrate tone deafness with raises
More: I think reasonable people could agree the current job descriptions of the aforementioned federal employees are just as demanding as the UC employees who received stipends on top of their salaries because they had to assume additional responsibilities. …When I hear the "You got to pay good people" argument, three things come to mind: First, I agree, assuming all things are reasonably normal, which is clearly not the case in California today. Second, good people would know the timing for these raises are poor and if everyone is having to sacrifice, they would at least be amenable to waiting for a more appropriate time. Third, if they can't wait along with the other 180,000, then maybe they are not as good as advertised, and it might be a good idea if they did go somewhere else. …The increased salaries reflect a body insulated from the impact of the abominable timing and perceived arrogance of their actions — a group severely tone deaf of the justifiable public outcr
