De Cotta McKenna & Santafé appoints new partner
CostaDelSolUnmuzzled
by CostaDelSolUnmuzzled  7-2-2009
This was the headline in April 2008. At that time it was emphasized that Jon Sutton`s skills were particularly useful in dealing with Spanish Estates of UK Nationals and the conflicts of law of estates across the two jurisdictions of Spain and the UK.. Today it is being suggested that Mr. Sutton, partner of De Cotta McKenna & Santafé, might have been a little "too skilled" when he ordered an English Court Order translated into Spanish. The translation altered the original Court Order 180 degrees in his favour - and Jon sutton acted upon this mistranslation 6 full days before it was even translated!

Can You Trust English Lawyers in Spain?
schimbad
by schimbad  6-26-2009    1
Apparently some English lawyers in Spain are not playing by the rules. This is not what the English used to pride themselves on or be known for around the world. Following the debacle and the disgrace of English MP's should we be surprised at the behaviour of De Cotta Law, Paula Basham of Axar Property and other? Whether we are surprised or not, they should not be allowed to continue to get away with illegal actions.
