Kos Tries To Pass Off Obama's Birth Certification As Birth Certificate
merrie
by merrie  6-13-2008    4
Indeed, the Kos document offers scant details, limited to name, gender, date, location, and names and races of parents. But while the summary certification disproves the Geraghty speculations, it says nothing about what I previously offered as a more plausible scenario - namely, that the full-length document might indicate Obama's parents were avowedly unmarried at the time of his birth (which would contradict Obama lore that they were in good faith married, but only later dissolved the marriage upon the revelation that Obama Sr. had never divorced his first wife in Kenya).

A Special Report: The Right's America-Hating Preacher
papananook
by papananook  5-2-2008    2
Once his plan to “swallow entire America” is complete, Moon told his followers in one sermon, there will be “some individuals who complain inside your stomach. However, they will be digested.” But Moon’s hatred of America is not deemed news, in part, because Moon has financed the Washington Times since 1982 to the tune of more than $3 billion, according to former newspaper insider George Archibald. Moon also has lavished many millions of dollars more to pay for conservative conferences and to bail out key right-wing figures when they have found themselves in financial distress, including Republican direct-mail guru Richard Viguerie and the late Jerry Falwell. Plus, Moon has paid large speaking fees to former President George H.W. Bush – estimated in the millions of dollars – and has feted President George W. Bush’s brother Neil at recent events for the Moon-sponsored Universal Peace Federation. In 2004, thankful Republicans even gave Moon use of a room in the Senate Dirksen

Junk about Obama from a dailykos diary
egoldstein
by egoldstein  5-1-2008
Are you kidding me!? What Rev Wright has said goes way way way beyond the belief that "racism is alive and well in white middle class America." The references made by the author to Obama's "white advisors" and Obama having "become white" render this piece entirely hypocritical in my opinion. Usually i don't clip things that i find to be so stupid, but this one startled me so that i felt the need to point it out.

Clinton campaign responds to Obama-blackening ad
masbury
by masbury  3-5-2008    2
UPDATE 3-7-08: Factcheck.org writes: "without further evidence to the contrary, we see no reason to conclude that this is anything more than a standard attempt to make an attack ad appear sinister, rather than a special effort to exploit racial bias" Apparently all the images are darkened, not just skin tones, and this is standard (though yet despicable) attack-ad procedure. My apologies. The Afghanistan hearings issue is still utterly bogus; they were taken by the chair of the entire committee (Biden), and Obama was in attendance. Hillary, meanwhile, missed her committee's important war hearings in Feb, preferring to stay on the campaign trail (from where she shot at Obama for not having hearings)

SIBEL EDMONDS STORY OF FBI COVERUP UNREPORTED IN US MEDIA
papananook
by papananook  1-21-2008    2
comment by peterrb1 in the dailykos: This whole disturbing episode shames almost everyone involved with it: the press, the participants, and the supposed overseers, Congress. I can see why the corporate press and Congress do not want to touch this: if the details are only half true, the revulsion towards US Governmental institutions and its’ people would make the reaction to Watergate look like a mild tantrum. The knowing and willing betrayal of American nuclear secrets for personal gain on a pervasive institutional level that crosses the partisan divide and covers political and career bureaucrats is concrete confirmation of a popular attitude, “They are all crooks!”

Murder at peace rally by the police
cptenaud
by cptenaud  9-19-2007    3
The March continued onto the Capitol’s South lawn where approximately 5000 people joined the die in. Then people starting jumping over the barricade at foot of the Capitol steps and 200 people were arrested. Police pepper sprayed numerous onlookers who were only observing the events. About 50 feet from my husband the police had thrown a 57 year old Vietnam Vet down on the ground and proceeded to arrest him, unknowing they had crushed the man’s pacemaker and he had a heart attack on the balcony of the Capital building where they were holding the arrested protesters until busses came. The EMT’s were unable to revive him, resulting in the man’s death.

O'Reilly, the HATE that you Love to Love?! DON'T read if you love Love!
righthand
by righthand  8-3-2007    3
The most salient issue is not that O’Reilly fancies himself a “traditionalist,” rejects the secularization of America, extols the Judeo-Christian foundations of our nation, and bemoans the perfidious culture war being propagated by the liberal Hollywood elite while simultaneously threatening to massage an employee’s tits. What’s most disturbing is that that he completely sucks at phone sex. To help Bill navigate his way past life’s many obstacles, we figured we’d give him some pointers for future producer-harassing endeavors At times during phone sex you use complicated, almost clinical terms such as “intravenously” and “modus operandi.” Avoid immature descriptions. This is key. You sound like 13 when you use phrases like “rubbing your big boobs.” Avoid misspoken or mispronounced words. A lot has been made about your falafel comment, and it was obviously a blunder, but come on. It’s a big blunder.

Inappropriate, inexcusable and indefensible
thorswitch
by thorswitch  7-31-2007    9
For the last week or so, Bill O'Reilly has been waging a one-man war against the website DailyKos. One thing he's been doing is going through and pointing out comments left in some threads that express ideas that are, quite frankly, inappropriate, inexcusable and indefensible. O'Reilly's one to talk. Not only do comments at his own site contain comments that are just as inappropriate, inexcusable and indefensible, but Bill O'Reilly himself has been known to make comments that are inappropriate, inexcusable and indefensible himself. Below is a quote from November 2005. I've chosen it because while it's not necessarily a recent quote, it is one that is so heinous that O'Reilly should have lost his job over it. This comment should be spread around as much as possible. Not enough was made of it at the time, but now, since O'Reilly's on his "saying hateful things is bad" campaign, he needs to be taught just what happens when hateful things come out of HIS mouth.
