POPS "Large Fella" Bikes Back to Life 50 pounds in the first four months – and they kept on coming off. He'll be quick to point out that he wasn't “dieting”; he was changing his life. Permanently. He and his family left the east coast for Minneapolis, largely for its reputation as a cycling haven. Thus far Cutshall has dropped to about 230 pounds; he estimates that he'll plateau around 180 but says, “"It's not about a goal weight," he said. "I'm just doing what's healthy for my body, and the results will follow."

POPSCLIX bicycle wheel quick-release system This would do away with our periodic arguments. Me: Hey, that's not how to tighten a quick-release lever. You need to... Him: Yeah, I don't care. Me: It's a safety issue. Your wheel isn't secure. Him: Yeah, I don't care. Me: ARRRRGH! This new quick-release claims to be "literally fool-proof". Hey, sweetie! ;-)

POPSSchool bags can be a pain in the neck When i went to school the textbooks weighed a ton, but I end up working out how to strap my bag to an airport trolly, and tow it behind my bike. Never had any trouble. at least not with my bike. School on the other hand was one of my pet hates, but i worked out how to make it so they weren't looking for me, then i could go home...but that's another story

POPSBicycle City Just Around the Corner Bicycle City is in the planning/development stages and much of the information and images displayed on this website are meant to simply convey concepts and ideas rather than representations of fact. Reservation Update: It has been suggested that, because we are unable to disclose the location of the upcoming Bicycle City community at this time, our reservation amount was too high. With this in mind, we are lowering the reservations to $250, which is still fully refundable. We will refund the difference to those who have already made reservations in the original amount. To reserve an opportunity to purchase a residential lot or a condominium unit, or to rent an apartment in the future Bicycle City development, please use the instructions below. Your deposit is fully refundable. You can cancel at any time for a full refund.

POPSUtopia for a modern age. Our goals include returning healthy biodiversity to the heart of our cities, agriculture to community gardens and the streets, and convenience and pleasure to walking, bicycling and transit. We work to build thriving city and neighborhood centers while reversing sprawl development; to build whole cities based on human needs and “access by proximity” rather than cities built in the current pattern of automobile driven excess, wasteful consumption and the destruction of the biosphere. We visualize a future in which waterways in neighborhood environments and prosperous downtown centers are opened for curious children and native plants and animals.

For example, head to Wall Street and you'll find one shaped like a dollar sign. POPSBeijing's Space Age Olympic Stadiums These are the spectacular arenas that will host thousands of spectators and athletes in the Beijing Olympics next month. It is clear that the Chinese organisers have spared no expense - and hired some of the world's leading architects - to ensure their venues are of the highest standard. A total of 10,500 athletes and seven million spectators are expected to arrive in the city when the Games begin on August 8. The arenas - which for two weeks will be the focus of worldwide attention - have set a stunning precedent for the organisers of London's 2012 Olympics. Many of the buildings use recycled rainwater in their air-conditioning systems or have specially insulated walls to ensure they stay cool in the sun.

POPSECOCITY Builders An ecocity is a human settlement that enables its residents to live a good quality of life while using minimal natural resources. Its buildings make best use of sun, wind and rainfall to help supply the energy and water needs of occupants. Generally multistory to maximize the land available for greenspace. It is threaded with natural habitat corridors, to foster biodiversity and to give residents access to nature for recreation. Its food and other goods are sourced from within its borders or from nearby, in order to cut down on transport costs. The majority of its residents live within walking or cycling distance of their workplace, to minimise the need for motorised transport. Frequent public transport connects local centres for people who need to travel further. Local car sharing allows people to use a car only when needed.
