POPSPC Attack According to the article, the US is also involved in this attack. I guess N Korea has adopted "if you can't play fair, play dirty".

POPSWe’d All Be Better Off, If The Internet Was Never Invented Cyberspace is the last bastion of free speech and source for non-corporate news and information we have. It's also a thorn in the eye of those who would like to control everything we read and everything we say. All under the guise of "national security". How much do you wanna bet, that these current so-called "cyber attacks" are false flag operations? I'll eat my hat, if they ain't. we’d all be better off if the internet was never invented We? Who we? I know who'd be better off and it sure ain't the little people.

POPSFederal Web sites knocked out by cyber attack The feds need to admit that this is a devastating problem for them and they do not have the internal skills, nor do the beltway bandits and most other contractors. They need to go out and get the true professional white hats and solid cyber security firms to help deal with this head-on. To compete with the people who have these skills the US Government needs to hire the best of the best (much like they have top gun schools). We have lots of military hardware and military might, but we severly lack the skills the enemy of the future - that of the cyber realm.

POPSComputer Hackers Infiltrate Pentagon Recently our government has posted advertisements for computer hackers to join forces in an effort to control the cyber attacks on government facilities. The ads must not be working cause the Pentagon was recently hacked and information on the Joint Strike Fighter was taken. Recruiters need to brush up on how to sweeten their offer of employment. Maybe include health care, dental, 401K contributions and 6 weeks vacation. All kidding aside folks we need to do something to stop this type of attack and secure our computer "borders" from attack. We definitely need someone in charge, which we do not have, to tighten our networks. What suggestions do you have?

POPSAP: Spies Compromised U.S. Power Grid WTF?! This is absurd. Our power grids are outdated and obviously vulnerable to state sponsored terrorism (call it what you want, thats what it is). What do we have to do to convince our "leaders" to ram legislation through Congress and mandate an overhaul of our national power system? Nails all of O's agenda too: economy, jobs, energy, education, and now, homeland security (I know, health care not part of it, but you get the point). C'mon you elected officials...can someone please take the ball on this and run already?

POPSElectricity Grid in U.S. Penetrated By Spies "These are pure speculations," said Yevgeniy Khorishko, a spokesman at the Russian Embassy. Wang Baodong, said the Chinese government "resolutely oppose any crime, including hacking, that destroys the Internet or computer network" and has laws barring the practice. Utilities are reluctant to speak about the dangers. "Much of what we've done, we can't talk about," said Ray Dotter, a spokesman at PJM Interconnection LLC, which coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in 13 states and the District of Columbia. He said the organization has beefed up its security, in conformance with federal standards. Specialists at the U.S. Cyber Consequences Unit, a nonprofit research institute, said attack programs search for openings in a network, much as a thief tests locks on doors. Once inside, these programs and their human controllers can acquire the same access and powers as a systems administrator.

POPS Extraordinary Powers What the Goracle Giveth the Messiah May Taketh Away It's worth noting that this kind of "safeguard" is exactly how Skynet got its foot in the door. When Mother Jones and Jules Crittenden agree, isn’t that a sign of the apocalypse? Both take a hard look at the Cybersecurity Act of 2009, S.773 sponsored by Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), Bill Nelson (D-FL), and Olympia Snowe (R-ME). The bill addresses the need to protect vital networks from cyber attack, but it gives a lot of power to the executive branch — perhaps too much power. http://www.suitablyflip.com/suitably_flip/2009/04/what-the-goracle-giveth-the-messiah-may-taketh-away.html suitably flip.com

POPSChina spies on Aussie PM's emails I admit to being an unabashed greenie, but I have to admit things like this scare me more than nukes. I worry for each exposed action there are plenty more going under the radar. Cold War 2.0?

POPSCyber Attack Data-Sharing is Lacking In the past, telecoms were asked by the federal government to share communications of private American citizens with the National Security Agency, and, despite a clear violation of our constitutional rights to privacy, the spineless bastards cowered and gave in. Now, telecoms are asking for cooperation with a government that will not share its cyber protection information. Aside from the fact that new technology is being constantly stolen from American industry and government at the rate of billions of dollars every year, our entire energy grid remains vulnerable to a cyber attack because corporations and government are afraid of divulging trade secrets to each other. Are we not all Americans? Isn't the safety of weapons design systems, biotech systems, communications systems, etc worth more collectively than secrets to how security systems are operating or proprietary rights?
