POPSBeer Versus Religion Jesus was crucified for our sins — beer is just pasteurized. Jesus is free; beer starts at $2.50 a six-pack. Holy water doesn't affect your sense of balance. You don't have to worry about getting religion stains on your clothes. Jesus is who you need in emergencies — beer is only useful when you find a burning bush. http://s143.photobucket.com/albums/r150/thisnamecantbetaken/?action=view¤t=2008-05-10-Picnic059Small.jpg

POPSSweetly Broken You draw me gently to my knees To the cross I look, to the cross I cling Of its suffering I do drink Of its work I do sing For on it my Savior both bruised and crushed Showed that God is love And God is just Chorus: At the cross You beckon me You draw me gently to my knees, and I am Lost for words, so lost in love, I'm sweetly broken, wholly surrendered What a priceless gift, undeserved life Have I been given Through Christ crucified You've called me out of death You've called me into life And I was under Your wrath Now through the cross I'm reconciled Chorus: In awe of the cross I must confess How wondrous Your redeeming love and How great is Your faithfulness (2xs) Chorus: Label: Vineyard Music

POPSWhat do we do with C.S. Lewis? "We must read Lewis, and any human author, with an awareness of human fallibility. Lewis’s works are helpful and insightful, but they are not part of Holy Scripture. They need to be subject to the authority of God’s inspired Word. Was Lewis perfect? No, but he wrote many useful things. He had some inconsistencies, but in the end, he proclaimed the crucified and resurrected Savior to a world that needs the gospel."

POPSMan Crucified for the 22nd Time "Of course when we express our faith to the Lord the Church does not want us to hurt ourselves for us to experience the Love of God. But we cannot question somebody's faith. It's just an expression of their faith. We do not lead their lives so we do not know what happens to them while experiencing that, so we might as well respect it." Hmmm . . . the Church seems to be talking out of both sides of their mouths here. I think the point is that you don't have to go on these self-mutliating missions to thank God for having your "prayer's answered".

POPSBizarre Literary Deaths #6 Smart move, Sherwood. As you are putting something in your mouth, you should probably double-check whether or not it's FOOD.

POPSTop 10 Reasons to Believe Logic Over Religion Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for turning my tap water into alcohol and a never ending food basket, but I’m tired of all these people whining and telling me how to live my life. You do your thing, I do my thing, we’re all happy, but after reading that someone is paying Facebook to post a religious article titled “6 Reasons You Have To Believe In God”, I figured I’d grab my own cross and at least have fun while getting ready to be crucified for having an opinion.
