POPSWhen Journalist LIE, Innocence Dies! Rarely since the WW2 has a people been so vilified as the Palestinians. Rarely has a people been so frequently excused and placated as the Israelis. Israeli embassies are now buttonholing editors around the world, saying that it's not fair to call Israel's PM "hard-line". And the reporters are falling into line. ... R Fisk I think he should know.

POPSCity Slickers Turn Tropical Entrepreneurs: An Eco-Adventure
Imagine going after your dream business…on a tropical island. What does it really take to build an island resort? In 2002, four city slickers set out to build their dream business in the Panamanian rainforest: called Tranquilo Bay. All of the buildings at Tranquilo Bay—are constructed from steel, virtually unheard of in that corner of Panama: but they wanted to protect against termites, sea air, and earthquake damage. Jim Kimball and Jay Viola knew nothing about construction before beginning work on the buildings. They learned everything they needed from the Internet during Sunday visits to the mainland. “We built Tranquilo Bay inside the rainforest overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the beautiful Panamanian Jungle. Our central location within the archipelago of Bocas del Toro permits us to explore some of the most biologically diverse areas of Panama and Central America: an archipelago of some 68 tropical islands” http://www.tranquilobay.com/home.htm

There seems to be a lot of typos in the article, too. So I'm not sure what's going on at LiveScience. I'm not sure about parrot linguistic processing being near the level of a 4 to 6 year-old......hmmmm

POPSCrocs divert blood to avoid busting a gut They probably have to eat when they can, no matter what the size. They say it seems like part of the reason crocodiles find a warm place to rest after they've eaten. I suppose that would be two of the crocodile's main pastimes. Eating and sleepng

POPSBattle at Kruger YouTube's most-watched video in 2007. Thank God, because I could not have tolerated any more Britney... This is absolutely amazing footage in Kruger National Park in South Africa, where a pride of lions attacked a herd of buffalo to get to a calf. Since it was at a waterhole, two crocodiles decided to get in the fray. Absolutely electrifying footage!

POPS4-year-old survives five-hour swim with crocodiles "Captain is a hard bushman and Daniel is following in his footsteps. They breed them tough out bush." He said Land Care Rangers on foot and on quad bikes searched for the boy on high land. "They decided to search the high lands because they thought there was no way he went into the croc waters." Mr Knight said the locals believed Daniel was lured by a spirit who visits him. Police from Wadeye Station drove 85km to join the search and arrived when community members had tracked Daniel to the creek. "He was OK, he was fine. He just wandered off in the middle of the bush," Sergeant Shane Taylor said.
