POPSLow Information Voters I run into these people a lot here in Georgia. People that make up their minds based on bumper stickers and 30 second TV ads. In a country with such promise, there is a huge swath of people that are, IMO, wasting the potential of this free society to learn, grow, and advance the human condition. Dare I use the word shallow?

After hearing what the center director was trying to do, he ran back out into the hallway and disappeared. The director thought, ‘well, there we are- on our own.’ About 2 minutes later, that Marine returned with 40 others in tow. Each of them grabbed a crib with a child, and the rest started gathering up toddlers. The director and her staff then helped them take all the children out of the center and down toward the park near the Potomac and the Pentagon. “Once they got about 3/4 of a mile outside the building, the Marines stopped in the park, and then did a fabulous thing- they formed a circle with the cribs, which were quite sturdy and heavy, like the covered wagons in the West. Inside this circle of cribs, they put the toddlers, to keep them from wandering off. Outside this circle were the 40 Marines, forming a perimeter around the children and waiting for instructions. No one was able to reach us all day.And we were OK. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms....... WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes. POPSBaby Cribs Recalled I realize the article is focusing more on the lawsuit, but I am using this as a springboard for parents to learn about the recall and the model number (see article) to better protect themselves and their family. I don't even think about how devastated I would have been had something horrific happened to my daughters. This is just something sad for the parents that lost their children, and something preventable for other parents.

POPSIraqi Orphange Nightmare The people who where in charge where in the kitchen cooking themselves food, when the troops came they took off and are still on the run. There isn't an excuse for this kind of abuse. What is wrong with the world when innocent children are always made to suffer when the adults who know better just got about with no regard as to their needs? Maybe a few more good men need to join the cause and take these bastardos out. Seeing this just makes my blood boil.

POPSTo all the kids, who had survived the ..1960s,70!!! If YOU are one of them . . CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good…… And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.
