POPSWhy Does The Government Keep Protecting People from Their Stupidity These credit rules are just the latest in a long line of our government feeling the need to protect consumers from their own ignorance and stupidity. I'll be the first to admit credit card rules and fees are difficult to understand. But consumers should be smart enough to know this, and not get in situations where they spent more than they can afford on their cards and end up paying these fees. Pay your bills on time and late fees aren't an issue. Don't charge more than you can afford to pay back at the end of the month and finance charges aren't an issue. There's no need for additional government legislation around this. If the gov really wants to spend our taxpayer money wisely, spend it on education programs to teach people how to be smart with their money.

POPSBargain Bite: Muracci's Japanese Curry & Grill in SF's Financial District Sounds well worth checking out. From the thumbnail photos, I can already tell they have matcha roll cake with azuki beans in the filling - yum! But I'm having trouble making a name like "Muracci" fit what I know about Japanese pronunciation and writing. Oh, wait - it would work if it were spelled "Murachi" (mu-ra-chi all being Japanese phonemes). I wonder why the Italianesque spelling?

POPSThe UK REAL ID Program Same as the US but more blatant spying. The US REAL ID incorporates the social security number from which all financial, medical, credit and personal info can be data-mined easily. Here the UK admits open collection of a broad amount of information. The UK does not have a bill of rights and the US acts like it does not. "Membership has its privileges" could be their slogan, without this you cannot "buy or sell".

POPSWelcome To Us Car Credit If these conditions seem unfair, there are things you can do to get a better deal. If you can wait a while before you search for a car loan, it may mean that you can save some money for an initial downpayment for loans. You can also take some time to reduce the existing interest-bearing liabilities, such as credit cards, as much as you can in advance. These measures will likely result in more favourable conditions, for example, a longer repayment period or lower interest rates.

POPSCredit Card fees hurting gas prices. I read this and thought glad it isn't baned here in alaska where I live. even though this is only one state mentioned here. Its horrible to know that managers of gas stations everywhere probably would like to ban credit cards.
