The Next Card to Fall: Credit Cards?
DanaGarrett
by DanaGarrett  10-29-2008
If the credit card industry is the next to fall, perhaps the silver lining will be restrictions on how much they can charge customers interest. As it is, current credit card interest rates, especially for those who fall behind in their payments, constitute usury.

VIP TUNE RIP-OFF- It's real it happened to me!
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  8-4-2007    1
It's true. Yesterday, I received a credit card statement on a card that I had paid off. On it, there was a charge for 29.99 on July 10th, from a company called VIP TUNE from Limassol... I knew, I didn't charge anything like that and also knew, no one in my family had either. (actually I had cut that card up 3 months ago)... Upon calling the bank who issued the card... they acted dumb...like they knew nothing about it...somewhere though, between their words it seemed THEY KNEW ALL ABOUT IT BUT STILL REPUDIATED IT... Finally the conversation culminated with WE WILL SEND YOU OUT A FEDERAL REGULATION E FORM. They also said they will close the account and issue a new number and card... I KNOWED they KNOWED about this fraud. Now, I just have to wait until the form comes in and hopefully it will be resolved. Wanted to alert all about this new rip-off so everyone will check their bank statements closely. Go to: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/261/RipOff0261334.htm to read more about it.

Credit Card Buyer Beware
schreibe
by schreibe  7-31-2007    1
Amazing how some people don't understand that one very good, and much needed job of the government is to establish laws that protect us from this sort of greedy corporate practice. Too many people just keep repeating that same old Reagan quote.....the best government is a small government, or something like that..... as if all these corporate entities are going to do what is best for us. They think that when it comes to money, the banks are going to do something that will lessen their profits. How stupid!

THERE OUGHT TO BE A LAW!!
snowdancer76
by snowdancer76  3-9-2007
Yes, finally there is a Democratic Congress which is trying to curb the interest rates charged on credit card debts, whereas the previous Republican Congress had years to do something to help the people. However, not everyone can take their interest rate grievances to Congress. Therefore, they should make a law to stop this "legal theft" by Chase Manhattan Bank, CitiBank, and many other banks. They have become tantamount to loan sharks. Please write your congressman/congresswoman and tell them, "there ought to be a law!", now while the Democrats still have the power. For years the banking industry has been paying by way of campaign money to the Republicans to keep these usurious interest rates legal and in practice. Will they start "paying off" the Democrats too now? I hope not. If you have a credit card and are concerned about climbing interest rates on loans and late fees, please let your congressional representative know. Thanks.

Floam scam
Kaedibyrd
by Kaedibyrd  12-30-2005
This is just the most detailed of many reports of shady business practices related to "Floam", a product marketed to kids as a fun modeling compound. Is this a phishing scam or is RoseArt really at fault here?
