POPSEvolution Well deserved criticism on creationists. Quite reasonable. (By one of my myspace friends).

POPSOBAMA DEFENDS 'CREATIONIST PSYCHO BITCH' REMARK "Now that doesn't mean I'm comparing Governor Palin to a pig. What I am saying is that if it's a straight choice between Governor Palin and a pig, I'm fucking the pig. "If I then went on to say that I'd rather fuck a dead pig than Governor Palin, that should not be construed in any way as a personal attack." Senator Obama refused to apologise to the Governor, insisting it would take too long to translate the words into her 'retarded hillbilly language'.

POPSSarah Palin - heart beat from the president I was personally going to make a video comparing Sarah Palin and that video considered one of the worst responses by a beauty pageant contestant, however this person beat me to it. I find this person, Sarah Palin, dangerous, naive, ill informed and completely unsuited to being a vice president let alone a president. This video has done a good job.

POPSCreationism Analyzed Creationists are strongly opposed to to a world brought on by evolution, particularly to a world as described by Charles Darwin in his Origin of Species. Creationists (certainly traditional Creationists) oppose the fact of evolution, namely that all organisms living and dead are the end products of a natural process of development from a few forms, perhaps ultimately from inorganic materials ("common descent"). Creationists also oppose claims about the total adequacy of the Darwinian theory of evolution, namely that population pressures lead to a struggle for existence; that organisms differ in random ways brought on by errors in the material of heredity (‘mutations’ in the ‘genes’); that the struggle and variation leads to a natural form of selection, with some surviving and reproducing and others failing; and that the end consequence of all of this is evolution, in the direction of well-adapted organisms.

POPSessay on creationism vs evolution long essay talking about how many who defend evolutionary theory need to rethink their approach because often their responses to creationists are inflammatory (thus hundering honest open debate) and/or do not reflect actual science. the essay deals specifically with the origin of life, and is a response to a couple other essys/blogs that are linked to.

POPSOver the Top When I first saw this piece I was sure it was a parody, possibly from The Onion. But no! This guy seems to be for real. He's associated with the Creation Science Association of Mid-America and this was published in the CSA News. Hmmm, I wonder if their secessionists too?

POPSCreationist Shows His Stuff Here's a pretty typical tirade by a fundamentalist Creationist that pretty much touches on all the points that Creationists get wrong all the time. About the only point he makes is that he's pretty ignorant about science and adheres to the talking points of the conservative right. My question is how many of these proselytizers will have to be proven wrong before they're eventually shamed into admitting that they've been lied to. The sad part is that many certainly have children who are also subjected to these ignorant views thus the ignorance is allowed to be passed along generational lines.

POPSAn Example of Incredible Mistrust Just because creationists need to misrepresent to get people to accept their opinion, doesn't mean scientists need to. When will they get that science is not a religion?

POPSLogical Fallacies of Creationists and How to Spot Them THE ACHILLES' HEAL FALLACY They carbon-dated a snail and it turned out to be 25,000 years old! Carbon dating is totally unreliable! THE AD HOMINEM ATTACK You have been blinded by Satan, and you are a creature of the devil. Neither you nor what you say can be trusted. You will rot in Hell for your ways THE RED HERRING Evolution is impossible because the Big Bang is a totally unacceptable theory because it defies the word of our loving Creator, He who sent His only Son, our Lord to...

POPSIntelligent Design and Evolution They are at it still, hell bend for dragging the science that permitted them to even evaluate into the toilet of eternal ignorance. Creationism and intelligent design are a strictly philosophical theory. Non-Science. Evolution may or may not be as complete in our journey of discovery, since many things are not found yet, but to pretend this is about intelligent design as a science would be going back, repeating history. Some of us are trying to move into the 21st century and beyond, not into the middle ages or 18th century. If they plan creationism and intelligent design as a serious science to be the centerpiece of USA's science, we will loose the competition with the rest of the world. Do they, the creationists, ever consider the consequences for real science, or are they just so in love with godliness, that they cannot be here for real? Be real, evolution has given you a chance to move forward, not back into the caves.

POPSTexas Education is Doomed I really can't wait to escape this state. I went to school in a small, small town in SE Texas. The sheep-god was often brought up in pep-rallies and by the student christian council. Fortunately even these hicks kept god out of the classroom and I was grateful. Seems the current generation won't be so lucky. I doubt the next batch of great scientist will hail from Texas, that's for sure. And Who needs science when you can fairy-tale everything away with your magic sheep-god. Abracadabra Amen.

POPSCreationist Science Teachers Would administrators sanction teaching alchemy in place of chemistry? How about palmistry in lieu of statistics. How about replacing basic meteorology with the Thor hypothesis? These people have no business in a science class teaching science. Either move them so they do no harm or fire them.

POPSScience Illiteracy in Fla The first paragraph pretty much sums up the lack of science literacy that exists across the country. The second paragraph points to the lies used by creationists to worm their religious views into science classes. These bible thumpers are clueless when it comes to what science is. They want a one to one comparison between science and religion and go so far as to claim that science changing its views as new evidence is discovered is a fault. They evidently want science to adopt a dogmatic approach to knowledge. How pathetic. Reading the comments of the religionists one is left with the impression that they are genuinely afraid for their faith. They seem to view science as a threat and therefore are justified to sidestep, lie, and misrepresent what science is and what their agenda is in attempting to water down the impact that science could have on their religion. Not only is this cowardly but extremely dishonest. As I said earlier, pathetic.

POPSDumbing Down the Earth Not satisfied with efforts to de-educate Americans, Creationists are exporting their fables to foreign lands.

POPSFloridians See the Light? I just clipped another article concerning this topic and then came across this article. Well, that was a short lived controversy. It seems the Florida creationists sipped from the reality cup just in time. Good news.
