POPSRubio to speak at CPAC Several months ago I read that the *official* choice of the GOP was Crist and then I heard Rubio speak. Then I got angry. The establishment GOP had chosen another RINO as their candidate of choice. It was basically eliminating the voters' options with their endorsement. It's still an uphill climb but the wave is building. Rubio is a true conservative and I won't have to hold my nose to cast my vote for him.

POPSRomney’s Law, 2012, and another $45 million Former Massachussetts Governor Mitt Romney is strongly leaning towards another run for President in 2012. Fresh off of winning 4.5 million votes in the 2008 Republican Primaries, and his third straight CPAC Straw Poll win, Mitt Romney is weighing whether he wants to spend another $45 million on another presidential campaign in 2012.

POPSWhat Did Rush Limbaugh Do After His Speech to CPAC? Consumed 14 gallons of high-octane gasoline to ready himself for cross-country run. Argued long and loud with penguins in Washington Zoo. Eventually adopted many of the birds' more salient political points. Flew over Georgetown District for one whole minute courtesy of own makeshift "human crossbow" device. Attempted to singlehandedly build Tower of Babel in National Mall using inferior "Mega Blocks" as opposed to far more acceptable "Lego" bricks. Rubbed himself provocatively against trees, traffic cops. Spun around in circle all night in attempt to reverse earth's rotation. Repeatedly bellowed, "Rush shall have thee!" to every attractive woman on sidewalk.

POPSFundamentalists Run The Gop Not much has changed here except the language is much more strident and spooky. This kind of ignorance is as insurmountable as that of extreme Islamists. I'm sure I want to fund those schools!

POPSYoung Conservatives Coalition Uses Modern Tools to Promote Timeless Principles A recent Gallup Poll shows that 18 to 29 year olds are more likely to be libertarian than conservative and that Republicans have an opportunity to “get in front of this train”, Kirby told hundreds young activists. There were over a million such voters who supported Ron Paul in the Republican presidential primary last year, but only one-third came back and voted Republican in the general election. Christopher Malagisi, president and principal founder of the YCC said his organization is ideally positioned to communicate the many appealing aspects of the conservative philosophy to a new generation of voters that did not have a living memory of notable figures like former President Reagan. Both parties have been complicit in expanding government beyond its constitutional boundaries and in accelerating wasteful spending, Sarah Smith vice-president of YCC observed.

POPSOlbermann's Plastic Ivy Coulter unmasks the charlatan of "My National Barack Channel"... Olbermann relentlessly attacked low-level Bush administration employee Monica Goodling for not going to a name-dropping college, saying -- approximately 1 million times -- that she got her law degree "by sending 100 box tops to Religious Lunatic University."

POPSNature Abhors a Vacuum Well, in this case, I think Nature has her work cut out for her as this is a double vacuum. I hope the Republican Party finds a real leader soon!

POPSAiling G.O.P. Risks Losing a Generation Ronald Reagan’s presidency underscores the power of a popular incumbent to win over young voters. When he was elected in 1980, only 20 percent of young Americans identified as Republicans. By 1989, the number had grown to 37 percent, a significant factor in the expansion of the Republican Party during those years.

POPSLimbaugh Gives Speech to CPAC Don't watch it if you dislike conservatives or Limbaugh. I'm saving it to watch it later. I read that it was very encouraging to those of us who believe we have to lie down and bow before the one who "Won".

POPS 13 Year-Old Conservative Wows CPAC! - Video 2/27/09 Here is video of an amazing young man, Jonathan Krohn, who simply "wowed" em at CPAC yesterday! He only had two minutes to speak at CPAC, but he used them better than most speakers do with 30 minutes! This video was uploaded to YouTube by Doug Krohn, who I assume is closely related (Dad?) to Jonathan. NOTE: In about 22 years, we may see this young man run for President! KROHN IN 2032!

POPSCPAC Straw Poll Vindicates Ron Paul, Huckabee Distanced
Ron Paul in virtual tie for 2nd, with Palin, well above Huckabee. Conservatives, unlike the republican establishment, like Ron Paul's principles on economics, preserving Constitutional law and liberty, and apparently even foreign policy (surprise, surprise) over others . This shows that conservatives then are divided, and not ready to throw all their weight behind one lead candidate (i.e. Romney, a CFR member and RINO who has no real conservative or Constitutional record). It must be acknowledged that Ron Paul's principles are vindicated as attractive among conservatives, and been missing from the Republican party. While Romney won the poll this still means Republicans are out of touch with conservatives listening now to Paul outside the heat of political campaigns. The fact that he fairs so much better here than during the primaries (although he trampled Giuliani then) says that conservatives are awakening and listening to his message, finally.

POPS You Did Not Lose This Election
MEMORIES OF THAT FEBRUARY day at CPAC come back to me now as I contemplate the November debacle of the Republican Party. Many conservatives will inevitably feel rejected and dejected. Try not to take it personally. You did not lose this election. Perhaps the most important statistic for conservatives to keep in mind today -- as pundits pore over and pour out exit-poll data to tell us What It Means -- is this: 53 percent of Republican primary voters did not vote for John McCain. While the Democratic struggle between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton captured all the headlines during the primary season, few pundits noticed the massive Republican resistance to McCain's nomination. Super Tuesday, Feb. 5, McCain got 33 percent of the primary vote in Missouri, 32 percent in Tennessee and Georgia; in caucuses that day, he got 22 percent in the Minnesota and 19 percent in Colorado. McCain's share of the total Republican primary vote through Super Tuesday was only 39 percent.

POPS Sen John McCain Attends CPAC This Election Year! Seems John McCain now wants to make time to attend CPAC this Election Year to court Conservatives. Well, some so-called Conservatives have resigned themselves to the fact that McCain is going to be the Republican Party Nominee, well I for one refuse to allow the media to cram McCain down our throats!!! There is no way in hell that McCain should be allowed to walk in to CPAC and sale us a bunch of bs.

POPSThoughts on Coulter: are mean people richer? One of Wise Bread's writers points out that the nastier Ann Coulter is, the more money she makes. Would that work for the rest of us? As the YouTube video shows, the CPAC audience sure loved her "faggot" comment (www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxgVuB3TyaU)

POPSIt's That F-Word Again So the Conservatives don't like name-calling or slander. They want to raise the campaign to a higher level.....oops, that's the Liberal's line. It seems like some Conservatives really like to roll around in the mud where they are most comfortable.
