POPSHated Roosevelt, Hate Obama: Paleoconservative Persuasions
Nock saw the state as “them,” not “us,” and “them” really came to mean Roosevelt. You must know that Roosevelt was hated by many during the Great Depression. Not disliked, hated. The laissez faire crowd saw every move toward government relief of intolerable conditions as government self-aggrandizement—Nock’s term, not mine. Despite the fact that people were desperate in the streets, extreme-sport capitalists saw only usurpation of the powers of the church (as the precursor to the modern social relief agency) and the individual—that old fall-back, the rugged individual—Nock’s term, not mine. Professor Nock pulls no punches. With a Beckian flourish he proclaims, “This regime was established by a coup d'État of a new and unusual kind, practicable only in a rich country.” Yup. A coup d’etat. You almost want to ask for Mr. Roosevelt’s birth certificate. Nock’s antipathy to Roosevelt knew few boundaries. Perversely, Nock saw in the New Deal, “the erection of po

POPSHonduras leader could be restored The military grabbed him from his home at dawn and deported him to Costa Rica. He sneaked back into the country Sept. 21 and took refuge in the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa, where he has remained, the compound surrounded by Honduran troops. Zelaya's removal from office has been viewed worldwide as one of the most serious challenges to face Latin America in a decade. The coup was both a throwback to the region's dark past of civil war and military takeover and emblematic of a struggle underway today in Central and South America, where several leftist leaders with authoritarian tendencies have risen to power through elections and tested the bounds of democracy.

- "Kunden-Profit" ist, was der Kunde will. Apples Erf

POPSThis is following what the Honduran Constitution says? This is better than Zelaya just wanting to ask people if they thought that the president should have a right to run for longer terms? This is what happens when right-wing radicals in government usurp democracy. A policeman shooting a 13-year-old boy? In the back, yet? Contact your congressmen and members of Parliament. Get them to pressure Honduras to put the rightful president, Manuel Zelaya back in power, and end this savage, illegal coup!

POPSHonduras America's Founding Fathers—like the framers of Honduras's own constitution—believed strong institutions were necessary to defend freedom and democracy from the ambitions of would-be tyrants and dictators. Faced by Mr. Zelaya's attempted usurpations, the institutions of Honduran democracy performed as designed, and as our own Founding Fathers would have hoped. Hondurans are therefore left scratching their heads. They know why Hugo Chávez, Daniel Ortega and the Castro brothers oppose free elections and the removal of would-be dictators, but they can't understand why the Obama administration does. They're not the only ones.

POPSAbraham Lincoln, Barack Obama, America's military What is most disturbing to me today is the reaction I have not seen to Mr. Perry's lunacy. I have read dozens of condemnations of his--I will be blunt--chickenshit call for a military coup, and dozens more posts and stories using his idiocy as a talking point in current political battles. What I have not read are dozens of stories explaining something that is as certain as the law of gravity: The United States military does not act against the government of the United States. Note: click on John Perry's name to see what he is on about.

POPS500,000 plastic coffins on a Georgia highway "At present there are 800 FEMA prison camps across the USA. Each has the capacity of holding 20,000 citizens. I say citizens because they will be used against us, my friend. They are presently armed with guards and there is rail-road access and airport to some and roads leading directly to the prisons. The beds are concrete. You do the math. People get ready, there's a storm a comin'. " Note the date, this came before swine flu propaganda, there are now many more.

POPSEmpire State Building Lit For Chi-Coms Draws Protesters Lhadon Tethong, executive director of Students for a Free Tibet, called the lighting "outright, blatant approval for a communist totalitarian system." "It’s a great public relations coup for the Chinese state," Tethong said as tourists gawked at the protesters. "But on the other hand, it’s sure to backfire because the American public and the global public will speak against it." At the lobby ceremony, building manager Joseph Bellina called the lights a high honor and said he was proud of the relationship between "our countries and our people." Chinese Consul General Peng Keyu, who pulled the switch on the glass-encased model, said he was "honored and delighted." He said China’s reforms of the past 30 years have led to greater openness and "tremendous change." Keyu and Bellina didn’t address critics and declined to answer questions… Rep. Peter King, a New York Republican, said it was "a sad day for New York."

POPSIn Crazy American Dictatorship Prediction News He was the most intelligent person we’ve had in that position for a long time. But he’s inexperienced … “ “Most intelligent for a long time” seems like a bit of stretch. Even so, old codgers, if they know nothing else, usually know that having intelligence without experience is like knowing how roller skates work without ever having been on them. That’s why they’re always grousing about young whippersnappers. Vidal’s example shows it’s never too late to learn from your mistakes, though when you read on, you’ll see he hasn’t. Meanwhile, in other crazy American dictatorship predictions, there’s this guy on the right side of the aisle who also thinks U.S. military officers will be staging a coup soon. The column by John L. Perry, who I managed to avoid encountering before he lost his mind, got yanked by NewsMax but most of it is here at The Moderate Voice. http://themoderatevoice.com/48019/newsmax-calls-for-a-military-coup-in-u-s/

POPSGore Vidal: ‘We’ll have a dictatorship soon in the US’ ”The Republicans will win the next election, Vidal believes; though for him there is little difference between the parties. “Remember the coup d’etat of 2000 when the Supreme Court fixed the selection, not election, of the stupidest man in the country, Mr Bush.”

POPSMade in USA? Honduran Coup and LRAD Whether the coup was a left-over from the Bush era because there were not enough Obama and Clinton appointees in country when the elected president was boosted out of the contry - I don't know. I do know that LRAD weapons were either supplied by the CIA or that the US gave permission for the export of the materials. They were designed to disarm people intent on doing you harm, not to torture people inside an embassy into giving up someone who has sought refuge. We need to tell both sides in no uncertain terms get together and talk - make a deal!
