Winter Sunrise Creates Apocalyptic Clouds: A Terrifying Beauty
urbanlife
by urbanlife  12-2-2008    1
Once-in-a-lifetime photographic event: the dramatic pictures were taken in north west Greenland by British Arctic photographers Bryan and Cherry Alexander. The pictures show a thin layer of medium-level cloud that has been pummeled by winds churned up between the glaciers below. The angle of the rising sun helped to highlight the different colors and intricate patterns. 'It looked apocalyptic and like a scene from one of the Lord of the Rings movies,' Mr Cherry said.

The official story of what happened in New York that day doesn't match up with the laws of physics. This site lays out the case, by professionals who study & teach this stuff for a living, that the three towers that collapsed that day were brought down by controlled demolition, given the evidence and the laws of physics. There's quite an extensive bit of evidence laid out. Take a look a for yourself and determine which answer it supports. Occam's Razor says that when there are competing explanations for a phenomenon of equal strength, the one making the fewest assumptions is more likely to be correct. Without assuming anything, look at the evidence and the arguments put forth. See what conclusion you come to. When you remove "Oh, that couldn't be..." from the discussion and just look at the evidence, one theory seems to make more sense.

Obama's Pro-Abortion Fanaticism Could Close 1/3 of All Hospitals
ColoradoRight
by ColoradoRight  11-29-2008    1
The freedom of conscience acts are laws that allow Catholic hospitals and health providers that receive public funds through Medicaid and Medicare to opt out of performing abortions. Without public funds, these health centers couldn't stay open; if forced to do abortions, they would sooner close their doors. Even the prospect of selling the institutions to other providers wouldn't be an option, the bishops have said, because that would constitute "material cooperation with an intrinsic evil." Christianity is hated by liberals because it provides a moral basis for resistance. Driving Christians out of healthcare would obviously advance the liberal agenda. If the closures cause a crisis, so much the better. As the economy has been proving so graphically lately, every crisis is an opportunity for statists to push us closer to socialism.

Privitizing Piracy Protection by Oliver North
merrie
by merrie  11-28-2008    3
"to the shores of Tripoli" in the "Marines' Hymn." It seemed like a glorious victory for American arms. But it wasn't. Though Jefferson had pledged "not 1 cent for tribute," the treaty ending what came to be called the "First Barbary War" provided $60,000 in ransom for the 300 or so American citizens being held by the defeated government. Jefferson and Congress acquiesced because of the value they placed on American lives. It was a precedent that I came to know well. By 1984, Beirut, Lebanon, was the most lawless place on the planet. Organized terror cells and "freelance" criminal gangs routinely took Westerners hostage and held them for ransom. Those they couldn't "sell" were often killed. Then Hezbollah -- the radical Islamic terror group organized and operated by the theocratic government in Tehran, Iran -- began snatching Americans. There were no military options, and more than a dozen diplomatic initiatives failed to win the release of any of those being held.

A Meritocracy Again

What It Takes To Become a Millionaire
stfmonitor
by stfmonitor  11-25-2008
Lots of people make successful bargains annually. People having no special education, little experience on market trades become rich and achieve the targets, they couldn't even think about before, all is owing to market trading. Of course, many people lose their money, but isn't it better to try and burn your fingers than not to try at all? What are you dreaming about? Maybe you want to travel all around the world, wearing furs; maybe you wish to buy the house of your dreams, or just retire, being absolutely independent financially. All these dreams may come true with LargeSUM!
