Bush Seeks New Congressional War on Terror Declaration

Another attempt by the Bushistas to keep us on a permanent war footing and economy. The War Profiteers no doubt will love this and may have even written it. (I expect Congress to kiss the Preznut's ass again on this) Corporate war crimes are the norm.

AmeriKKKa has turned the corner. The idea that once was, is a hallow shell of Right Wing Extemism.
klippety
by klippety  7-12-2008
Where are the ideals that once constituted the freedom and democracy? Under the marching feet of an army, fighting not for ideals, but mere consumerism and profiteering at all cost. We have reached the lowest common denominator. Torture, secrecy, spying, incarcerations without warrants, changing the rules to protect those that break the laws. The end is nearer than we like to think. No more democracy and " We The People". Only corporate freedom to exploit the world with our armies backing. Obama is out!!!!!! Don't vote!!! Stay away from this scam.

What to do, what to do? That's the question for the average citizen. Do we just inore this brilliant man or get leaders who will listen and act? During a speech at the National Press Club, he rambled, as if his ideas were sprinting well ahead of his words, but he kept an overflow ballroom audience rapt. Already, he said, the world’s safe level of atmospheric carbon dioxide has been exceeded. Yet, in the 20 years since he first testified, no major U.S. law restricting greenhouse gas emissions has been passed, 21 new coal-fired generating units have been built at power plants in this country and total U.S. emissions of carbon dioxide have climbed by about 18 per cent. He also accused corporate America of a “greenwash” in which their environmentally friendly words are not backed by actions and he supported criminal charges against CEOs of corporations such as ExxonMobil who are smart enough to know the situation but are intent on continuing their fossil fuel ways. “When their d

Hundreds Swept Up In Mortgage Fraud Arrests
merrie
by merrie  6-20-2008
In separate arrests, two former Bear Stearns managers in New York were indicted Thursday, becoming the first executives to face criminal charges related to the collapse of the subprime mortgage market. Mortgage foreclosure rescue scams, which promise to help struggling homeowners stave off foreclosure and keep their homes, also have become a major problem, officials said. Typically, unsuspecting owners sign over their homes and then find they are victims of fraud. Officials declined to say who might be the next corporate target, but Mueller said the investigations focus on accounting fraud, insider trading, and failure to disclose the value of mortgage-related securities and other investments. Under review for potential fraud are: investment banks, hedge funds, credit rating agencies, brokerage houses and due diligence firms - which evaluate loans packaged into investments.

Let's push Conyers over the edge by flooding his office with phone calls, faxes, and Emails on Monday and Tuesday. Let him know that only impeachment hearings 1-will make it on TV, 2-will force compliance with subpoenas by eliminating "executive privilege", 3-will hold brazen criminals accountable, and 4-will convince voters that Democrats care about the Constitution. Dereliction of duty is rampant and the American people too distracted and willingly naive.

New York Times: "highly disturbing pattern of bias."
righthand
by righthand  9-18-2007    1
'Support for Israel is ironclad, absolute, and uncompromising on everything including its worst crimes of war and against humanity. Open debate is stifled, and anyone daring to dissent or demur is pilloried, ridiculed, called anti-Semetic, even threatened, ostracised, and finally ignored. In his seminal work on Middle East affairs, "Fateful Triangle," Noam Chomsky put it this way: "....Israel has been granted a unique immunity from criticism in mainstream journalism and scholarship...."' Simply put, the NYT is a rag unworthy of the tees needed Today, it's the pillar of the corporate media and main instrument of fake news making it the closest thing in the country to an official ministry of information and propaganda. No media source anywhere has more clout than the Times, none manipulates the public mind more effectively, and where it goes, others follow. It's most visible supporting all things corporate, foreign wars of aggression, and everything favouring Israel it views one
